Tactile Immersion - General Discussion - Hardware & Software

For anyone interested, i have added some additional isolation to my rig to decouple it from the floor, applying the known rubber and spring concept and adding some additional layer of foam and rubber material for an even better result.

As shown earlier in this thread, my seat and pedal plates are already very well isolated by the same spring and rubber solutions, but my wife put some additional requirements out for me and my nightly driving sessions :)

The rig sits on 4 of those "towers". The black material in the middle is a 100x100x19mm MDF plate to provide some room for the screw head.

So far i am really happy with the results, i had no complaints from my wife anymore :) those springs are really stiff for a suitable resonance frequency at maximum stability, there is a tiny bit of a "springy" feeling when entering the rig, but it can hardly he felt in all other conditions.
Your tactile setup shakes the whole rig? Impressive, usually with proper isolation of seat/pedals rig should be static, or it's also motion?

It does not at all...It is just my wife trying to go to sleep directly below while i am driving...it seems some low hum is transferred via the floor and maybe the heater piping. She is very sensitive about those kinda things ^^

Definitely update with your testing, as horror stories led me to go with the Nobsound G2, but would like to hear how you find the 'Pro' works. (I'm actually debating dumping the amp and Gamer 2 entirely and getting a bigger BK as many recommend, but I am not decided yet)

Also bear in mind that you will be a bit stifled in power due to the amp providing you a 19v power supply. The Amp supports PSU's up to 24v, so even though its rated to 300w, I think you may need to upgrade the power supply to see the full benefits. I've been meaning to do that with mine for awhile(also still using the 19v 4.5A included), though not sure if it REALLY is additive at all by jumping to 24v. I'm no expert on any of this.

I have four of the same Dayton pucks under my seat(attached with 3m direct to the fiberglass bottom though), and I feel those kerbs and road effects very well, set them up as four corners(tires) and its pretty great. Also just stuck a fifth one near my shoulders on the back of the chair and it shakes me like hell.

I wonder if the springs you tuck them in are not as direct and absorbing some of the vibrations. I do notice these things really depend on being solidly mounted to a surface to work effectively.
I’ll be sure to post an update once I’ve put it through its paces. Here is an image from Amazon UK with the specs. It mentions a 5A 32V power supply which is what I got with mine so if it’s going to fry this power supply should be up for the job.

Following up on my new additons of the Nobsound amp and x 2 Dayton pucks - please excuse my ignorance on AV/Electrics - but could another 2 Pucks be added in series and be still run ok with the Nobsound amp?

Be cool to run left / right under my seat as i have now, and add 2 more Pucks to the back of my seat [GT Omega, can unzip and put the pucks in behind the sponge].

Don't really want to buy another amp if a single amp can handle 4 pucks in series [as i need to look into a seperate set up for pedals]

I run two dayton TT25 in parallel on one channel of a nobsound amp.

Awesome! Cheers for that, now to see how long Amazon Uk take to restock the 8 ohm version........

Don't suppose you have a pic of how you've wired them up?? Confused by series/parallel or how to do it!!

Have you made your decision and purchased one of these amps?
Can you share your experiences?
Not yet, i still have the same doubts... The amp with the dsp would be the cheaper choice, but have some doubts about its power specs (60W at 4Ohm)... Please, can someone tell me if it is enough to drive "Sinus Live" exciters?

Come on, you tactile gurus...

Maybe next month finally make your plan come true
Daytona 125T n armchair and a 4 x50W amplifier, some good, but cheap, or 2 x Nobosound.
But I do not know if 3 pieces of this amplifier will not be mixed up anymore, they will bite that they are and there will be no unnecessary conflicts.
The plan is also LFE, but unfortunately not available where I usually buy.

Believe me, springy is really not the right term...you are feeling it is not bolted to the floor if you rock it hard.

These are around 1200 N/mm.

I have the same isolators on order, do you know what size springs width/height you ordered? I want to get all the parts together for when the isolators get here in 3-4 weeks.

Can someone recommend a reliable external 5.1 or 7.1 sound card to me that runs trouble free with simhub? I guess the creative X3 is the device to go with, but I had problems with creative drivers before. When considering the X3, is the software ok at the moment?

How do you configure SimHub to make a couple of shakers, one on the left channel and one on the right channel, to work as mono, not as stereo, thus not distinguishing between effects on the left and right part of the car, but all shakers working exactly the same?

I am not in front of my sim pc so stolen a pic from the net.. I am pretty sure if you look at top left of the pic it says mode front rear with a drop down. The drop down will contain mono that you can then assign to each transducer in the output section.

Does anyone know if the Dayton DSP 408 is a good choice? Unlike the t-racks 4x4 mini, its EQ setting range doesn't seem to go below 20Hz. And it doesn't seem to have a noise gate either. On the other hand, the DSP 408 allows remote control. (Behringer NX3000D isn't a choice for me , because i'm driving my BK LFE and TST209 with a Clark XLS 1502)

I run 8 transducers using this 7.1 soundcard. Never has given me a problem.

Thanks! Does it work with Microsoft Standard Driver or do I have to download the specific Vantec Software?

I saw the following in the reviews of it.
I wonder how well it handles frequencies below 20Hz.

"It took a little bit of work (probably 30 minutes) to get it set up. Here's how I did it: I first downloaded the updated driver at the Vantec website and installed it (search for "NBA-200U"). Following the installation instructions that appear after extracting and running (as administrator) the "setup.exe" file, I plugged in the adapter to a USB 3.0 port. I plugged my 5.1 speakers into the front of the adapter: green for front, black for rear, orange for sub-woofer/center. When the installation finished, I rebooted the computer. (Make sure you reboot so that the software can finish loading.) Once rebooted, I went into the Windows 10 control panel and ran the sound applet, setting it up for 5.1 sound. Then, I checked the system task bar and found a blue icon with a white swirl. Once I clicked on the icon, a "USB Multi-Channel Audio Device" application started that enabled me to set up all kinds of things, including a mixer, karaoke, and effects. I found that if I set the "System Input" to "2 CH", enabled the "Xear Surround Mix", and set the "Output Mode", "Analog Output", to "6 Speakers", while tweaking the "Output Device" settings (click the speaker icon to enable) to make the rear speakers a bit louder ("+2"), I got great surround sound while playing a stereo recording I had uploaded to YouTube. I listened to all of the speakers while testing to make sure the front, rear, center, and sub-woofer all worked. The volume and mute controls work perfectly."
