Tactile Immersion - General Discussion - Hardware & Software

The idea is either to move the plywood plate directly to the seat spring or cutting 2 smaller pieces and boltthe pucks on then squeeze them in

Maybe start a trial run by ziptying the shakers to the springs.
My "trial run" with BST-2 ziptied to the brake pedal lasted well over a year  before I fabricated a mount.

As you said might not be super comfy so the other option iam thinking would be to bolt the pucks on each side of the silver seat frame you see in the picture

Still not convinced the Pucks (and Nobsounds) have the power to shake the whole seat from the mounting plates. (also a lot of energy will be "wasted" into the rest of the rig)

But, by all means try it out, all you have to loose is some time tinkering
(and some obsolete holes in the seat mount)

@stigs2cousin
thanks for sharing your experience and the thoughts about my user case.

the Dayton puck/Nobsound is actually a good combo at the back of the seat and on the pedals plate, I need to improve the "under the seat" haptics now so lets experiment indeed.

I have 4 i just sit directly on. They are not tied/bolted to anything, they are just laying on the seat and they work and shake great. Eventually im going to make a pillow like this
for them instead of just placing a flat pillow on top of them. But like stigscousin said some times "Trial runs" go longer than expected lol.

The good thing about this setup style, Is no energy is lost into the rig, it all goes str8 to your thighs and bum/lower back and i feel it may be more quiet at night also since it doesnt shake the entire rig.

Hello

Used to look for advice here long time ago now looking for help to troubleshoot an issue with daytonaudio puck

I have 6 of them set on my Simracing rig

Been using for years and had a long break now coming back to find out that one of the puck at the front on my pedals plate doesn’t produce normal sound and vibration

I use Simhub to drive them via no sound amps

Doing the sound test in Simhub for that particular bass shaker does return only what I would call a short Pol sound

Any idea what could be the issue and best troubleshooting I should run here?

Thanks so much

Hi, I need some help with choosing an amplifier. I would prefer to mount a BST-1 and a BST-300ex under the seat and run it with one amp (seat is decoupled, solid plate available for mounting the shakers).
Can I adjust the volume in Simhub alone to match the different performance classes on an Fosi V3 for example? Probably difficult or? The risk of killing the BST-1 is probably high.
I don't understand the recommendations that you can run the 300ex and multiple bst-1 together on an epq304 or tracks amp. These also only have 60W-75W @ 4 Ohm per channel.

Don't I need something like a Fosi ZA3 in mono mode or the V3 mono with 48V 5A power supply for one 300ex?

Thanks
Marcel

I've got 4 of those but haven't got round to doing anything yet. I was thinking of a firm 20mm/ 1"? thick foam with holes cut for the pucks to stop them sliding around. And perhaps a thin material cover?? I must get on with it!!

Further more, once I've used the pucks in a seat pad, how much wow would a 4 actuator D Box system add??
I've had a Buttkicker Gamer 2 from the start and Sim3D motors on the pedals for locking and wheelspin for a while. Then added a couple of fans using the spare Sim3D box outlets.
D Box is quite expensive but shrouds don't have pockets!!
Any experiences and thoughts??

You can adjust sound level in Sound Output.

If you start low and carefull it should be fine.

I've mounted the pucks in a 25mm thick foam cushion pad. Next some matching seat upholstery fabric with attached 3mm scrim foam layer to finish.
