Hello guys. if the bottom of your racing seat look like this,is still possible to attach a big LFE

I'm curious as well. How did you attach them? The protective film is still on, so I guess you haven't sticked it to a flat surface then?

I did peel off the protective film and attached to the rig in a flat surface.
I have put it back the protective film after I took the exciter out of the rig. (I kept the protective film for any future instance, like this one)
 
I need help please. I did buy the berhinger 3000d and 2 buttkickers LFE. I did connect the buttkickers to the amplifier and the amplifier in a jack port of my soundcard soundblaster z but nothing.now also the audiospeaker if i connect to the soundblaster dont work.they seem dead. my main audio now is motherboard soundcard where I did connect with digital output my audio speakers and it works fine the audiospeekers. I did try to connect back the audio speakers to the soundblaster but is dead too. luckily is working on the motherboard sound card.help please.ty

Some comments and thoughts after a few days of testing... What has others found regarding same/different Hz for multiple effects on the Dayton's on a back-of-seat installation?

It is clear that it's not optimal to overload a single unit with multiple effects simultaneously. However, when using a multi setup like x8 Daytons, do you find that you achieve better clarity between effects by using unique Hz for different effects and exciters? I would assume this is the case, as the same frequency easily could mask other effects through the seat just as in airpressure. This obviously is seat material, build and installation specific, but just keen to hear of others' findings. Do you find this to be a problem / something you actively avoid?

I had some good results using higher frequencies for wheel slip. At first I could not distinguish wheel slip that we'll while using lower Hz values. This is the only effect that I currently run at +100Hz and it is now very noticeable. In addition to being recognizable, this is one effect that I really think benefits from a higher frequency. It gives a more natural and convincing feeling of continuosly sliding on tarmac. This leads me to think that regardless of unit, some effects might feel more natural at specific Hz ranges. When starting out it is far to easy to always go for the high efficiency, resonance frequencies.

Anyway, interesting to tinker with this. Would appreciate any discussion regarding choosing the correct / most natural / best distinguishable frequencies.

I'm planning to install a bigger number and I currently have 4 for testing and fitting purposes. They are hooked up in series so running at 8ohm. Maybe 5 hours run time total on higher frequencies (100hz+), 2 of them in a concealed space running much warmer. My TST and BK LFE are handling the lower frequencies. I plan to run them under stress for a long test run, as I'm curious about their reliability.
May I ask at what effects and frequencies you had them running at? I might consider replicate that (with my 150w per channel amp though).

I was still testing mine and it broke down, so maybe I'm not a parameter :laugh:. I did a few tests, all effects around 70hz to 100hz. I was doing like some trial and error tests (and to satisfy my curiosity). My project was to use just those 2 exciters (maybe 4) + 2 100w bass shakers in the future and I was testing which effects would be nice for those devices in my rig.
But those last couple of days I was testing them in RPM (70hz to 80hz +/- 74hz - 25% volume) and Road Impacts (74hz - 90% volume).
SimHub overall volume was 65% and I was using a Nobsound NS 01G-Pro, which is 50w per channel.
Maybe in higher frequencies their reliability should be better, but I didn't expect they would fail this way with so little time of use and testing. I got them only last month.
 
High everyone, I'm still pushing through this thread I'm 2/3rds through it but I wanted to just ask if anyone had any good advice for setting up 4 exciters on a rig, I have 2 earthquake q10's ATM. One mounted directly to the base of the seat and one at the pedals.

I was thinking of using the new exciters in pairs for shoulders and legs, does that sound like the the best option in you opinion and also anyone had any good results with getting exciters to harmonise with bigger units like I've seen latte mention in this thread (I think it's this thread).

I've only had them a few weeks but they seem pretty good, i have a simlabs p1x and the one I've mounted to the pedal tray can shake the house down luckily I make sound proofing for a living so I'll be working on something to fix that at some point. Im using a behringer nx3000 to power them. I found that Amazon had two earthquake 10s in their warehouse for 180 instead of 300+ so thought it was a good deal.

Just catching up with all the recent posts on here, there's been a lot going on.

It's a good approach to try and vary the Hz your using with the exciters, however you're limited to the range they can cope with. If you try to run them at low Hz, they will only stand so much punishment. Having a larger range of Hz to play with is where the benefit of other shakers come in (I run a LFE for RPM and TST for Speed). I only run one effect through each exciter and though they're all set within a fairly similar Hz range, I can usually distinguish between them quite well due to their location.

I'm hoping to experiment with some rear tyre slip effects this evening and will try the higher Hz ranges as you've suggested.

@Tovey13 You were asking about a cheap amp. There's slightly cheaper options out there but THESE are what I've been using for exciters and can recommend them

@Domenico Franco You were asking about powering an LFE and 4x mini LFEs from a NX3000D. Please be aware that it's only a 2 channel amp so wouldn't be suitable for 5 units (If I've read your question correctly). Regarding the pedal isolation, in my view your best approach is to add an isolated platform on top of what you're currently using. There are a few threads on this site where people have done the same. You'll need to keep in mind that they'll be higher up and also the isolation becomes a little trickier with pedals. You'll be applying a lot of pressure to your brake pedal at times (especially with high quality pedals like you have) whilst also trying to achieve good isolation. It's possible but it seems to me there's a point where you're trading stability with isolation.

Hope that's of help. I'll try to check-in a bit more frequently

I have 2 douk m4's for the 8 exciters and nx3000D for LFE.

I'll hold off till everything has arrived and been setup,still undecided of where I want to put the dayton bass shakers just yet,I wear thick soled shoes so feel pedals might be a waste.

I don't notice the fanatec V3 rumble at all I know these would be stronger but doubt it would bring much.
 
How well suited is Earthquake MQB-1 for tactile?(they seem well priced and can go low down with good control)
MQB-1 seem to have a maximum recomended frequency of 50-55hz before just generating heat.
I'm considering a couple of these (one for seat and one for pedals) powerede by nx1000d/nx3000d as a setup

it's rather disappointing that Simhub doesn't offer Flight sim support for those of us with multi use rigs. I guess I could use Simhub for Racing, and Simfeedack's simple mono tactile for the flight Sims? Would this mean constantly re configuring? I like to keep things as simple as possible but this feels like a huge pain in the ass switching between 2 tactile methods.

I guess the simplistic solution is to just use the very basic simfeedback tactile for flight duties. Seems like kinda of a waste having a 2 LFE / 6 exciter setup? Would it be good enough for basic flight tactile? I haven't set anything up yet. How hard is it to switch back and forth between Simhub, and Simfeedback tactile. Is it a simple preset thing, or a complicated matter of re configuring audio cards/ settings?
