Damn that was sick. I wouldn't be fast like that though (too far away from TV and I have to be level with it to be comfortable). That helicopter stuff was awesome though.

Did you really tried it ??

I saw the vid and was wondering the level difference between the screen and the cockpit. But with all this technology, it's easy now to make the screen coming to the cockpit no ?

Really i appreciate the work here , it's unbelievable !!

Well, there are some piece of art here :thumb:

Mine is always WIP..in fact it will always be WIP :eyebrows:

Latest thing i bought is a Nzxt Case the same that Lee Downham own ;)

They are all WIP's I think

Nice NZXT case you got yourself there ... it is a bit of a head turner ... it has been likened to Battlestar Galactica a couple of times too

One thing, be careful of the front door hinges as the top one is only plastic and a bit fragile IMO. Mine broke after I opened it a bit too quickly during the first couple of weeks of owning it ... luckily I RMA'd it, but was a faff and don't plan on repeating it.

Handy NZXT Lexa case hint no2: If you get a bit of a vibration noise between the side front doors and the body of the case, then sticking a layer or two of (black) insulation tape on there helps cure it and is barely visible.
:yo:

BTW ... I got a Saitek Pro Gamer Command Unit the other day (another "stumble upon whilst out shopping" bargain purchase after seeing Patrick's post the other day ... thanks for getting back to me on this mate, just what I was looking for :thumb:).

Like it a lot except that the Saitek SST profile software seems to be badly buggy - when its installed and after I first use the pad, I then get 25% of constant CPU usage on my "System" process until I unplug it (on a Quad Q6600 @ 3Ghz, that is a lot of CPU to be using!!).

Have emailed support and waiting to hear what they say, but the damn thing had me worried I had a virus or something at first.

Luckily it seems to works without the software, its just a bit more limited as you can only use each keys once as a standard joystick button instead of being able to assign specific keystrokes, macros etc to each key, plus a shift function to double the inputs, and then you can times this by three for 3x switch positions (green / red / blue LED backlit keys) giving you a setting for race sims, one for FPS, and another for whatever else you play ...

Here's hoping they have a fix ...

Strange,
I've used Saitek SST software for a long time, for a X45.
I had never any probs with them, in XP and later in Vista x64.
Even with the latest download version 4.0.100.1190

... spent several hours checking my system out and as soon as I unplugged the control unit (and later uninstalled the SST software) ... boom ... cpu usage normal.
(not sure I said this but I also tried different USB ports, including and excluding a usb hub .... no difference

Using same software version as you too :(

okay, here goes my wee spot

does the job, the laptop is quite powerful, no lags whatsoever, and as you can see, i never drive without orange juice by my side :D

and about those saitek button machines, what are they priced at? (please correct me if this expression was badly consctructed :thumb: )

So I just setup my cockpit in my home theater.
- PC: Core2Quad with a 9800GTX graphics card and 4gb of ram
- G25 wheel
- Playseat wheel
- and a 123" screen 1920x1080 (1080p) (that's about 310 cm)!! :woot:

Drunk night at my house:) (my drunk buddy Mitch driving at Dijon)

(The quality isn't the best... still learning on how to edit my video)

Do you use the extra buttons in Race 07/GTRe etc... along side a wheel and pedals ?

Yup that is primarily why I bought it - to map all those buttons you would like quick access to rather than having to find them on a full keyboard whilst mid race!

Previously I was thinking of creating a button box someday, but the price of a cheap usb controller which I would need to rip apart, plus buying the buttons adn materials for a box, plus the time and effort in doing all this was starting to stack up ... at €40 it seems like a decent deal to me.
A cheap full keyboard with keys painted or removed was my other consideration, but mounting or space for such a thing put me off.

Next job (after fixing earlier reported CPU issue with SST software) is to find some way of mounting this device on or beside my wheel so I can see/reach the keys a little easier whilst I am driving

Mmmmmmm .... now I like that, and not too expensive either - thanks for getting back to me.

Also saw this at Amazon ... Belkin SPEEDPAD NOSTROMO N52 TE ... same price and looks like it might be comfier for FPS gaming purposes??

I have bought this and received it today. Looks really good. Will be easy for me to map specific keys to this while racing. Glad I bought one at only £12 inc delivery.

Guys Im having a frustrating problem with the triple head digital. Am I missing something.

My rig has a Nvidia 8800 GTS card, i run 3 22" Dell monitors and I have followed all the steps on the matrox site but I can improve my resolution above 3840*1024. The desktop look so big and blocky plus other games such as command and conquer look crap!!!!

Getting very dishearten now!!
