thanks for that dino, i get problems with my g25 upshift paddle, ive managed to fix it a few times but it double shifts at the most annoying times, happened a couple of times tonight at the last turn, went to shift to 4th and ended up in 6th

qualifying - 2nd :)

dino managed to pip me to it by a tiny margin , the time i managed was a my pb time, i hadnt practised n a track with so much rubber laid down, it ended up a very exciting session, grats dino ;).

race 1 - 1st :)

started decent, i must work on starts big time but managed to hold p2 into t1, set about just staying close to dino and ahead of the guys behind, being my first race i didnt know what to expect but i managed to keep it altogether well and stay close enough to dino that if any mistake was made id have a chance, dino came across someone he was lapping and was slowed up a bit and i managed to take the chance and pass him on the main straight into t1, the rest of the race was just holding my nerve and staying ahead, the gap was always roughly a second all the way to the end with matt not far behind dino.

so happy to win my first race in rf2 and my first with you guys, hopefully more to come :D

race 2 - 6th

started last so stayed back and let it all unfold into t1, there was a bit of a smokey mess at t1 so i picked my way through and was side by side with dino through t1 and t2, i managed to pass into t3 and could gain another position not long after, before i knew it i was in 5th with sean and april just in front, at this point i was catching the leader by around .5 a lap but an unfortunate incident ahead slowed my progress :(, sean ended up in the middle of the track and i couldnt avoid, now the leaders were ahead by 10 seconds and my chance to win race 2 was gone, i made quite a few mistakes after this pushing too hard trying to catch back up, race 2 taught me the need to manage the tyres and not go gungho looking to make up a gap that in reality was out of reach.

overall very happy with my first races and first appearance, hopefully the rest go as well for me, grats to all finishers and dino for race 2 win, thanks to rd and the guys who set this all up .

cya at bahrain :)

Nah, Andrew you were hit by Martin and then I was bearing down on him as he spun to a stop ahead of me. With cars streaming down my left side and also starting to collide I managed a pretty slick move and squeezed between Martin and the guardrail on the right, but that left me with no option but to cut across the infield in turn 1. My reward for being heads-up and not adding to the destruction was a stop-go penalty.

Id just like to say a big thank you to Marco Bijl for stepping in and running the event in Ian's absence.
i know he is was already busy.

With this kind gesture, which he has done now many times over and over again, RD would suffer..
But that is not a option for Marco, his love and dedication for racing and RD leaves us all in awe ..:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

Thank you Marco :)

Yes, thank you Marco. FYI, my results file from race 1 is also messed up, but it shows something still different from what you reported on the server. You've probably seen it before but sometimes it's counting the cooldown lap after the checkered flag when showing final results, so it goes all crazy.

So we've never seen a points table in this series and this was the third event. Is that something we can expect to see soon? The scoring is fairly complex with all the bonus points and the inverted grid being different points, etc.

I know what you wanted to say, and I agree :) But you managed to write the exact opposite, you should read your post again carefully ^^

Yesterday we sorted out the GPCOS or at least started to get it all uploaded
so you should see fairly soon the points and were you all stand.

It is hard to take over someone's events and get up to speed in a couple of days, lots of reading and checking,
and then trying to find things that you thought were in place, only to find they were but you was looking in the wrong place..

we will get there just takes longer than we hoped.

Understood it will take time but glad to hear it's being sorted. Thanks!

Quali was fine for my little preparation with less practice. So Starting in P8 was ok.

Race1:
Had a good start and gained one or two positions. After some of the guys in front of me spun a found myself in P4 without overtaking anyone :D. Had some nice laps with Sean before a made a little mistake and let him pass. Sadly my car spun after reentering the track :(. After some other smaller mistakes i lost another position to Martin. But then i found my concentration again and could start pushing. Got P5 back from Martin and the gap to Sean was constant around 15sec. For nearly the last 10laps a had Frederic on my back always between 1 and 2 seconds. Depending how did a small mistake :). In this laps we could reduce the gap to Sean to 5sec. But it was to late to catch him :(.

Race2:
Normal start and found a good way in the chaos of T1. Moved from P10 to P5 :D. In Lap 2 i made the bad mistake that destroyed Borjas race. :(. Tried to wait from him but saw that he had retired. So started my chase from P12. Gained some positions as Nicky made a mistake in front of me and we had a little misunderstanding in the fast uphill corner. Afterwards my right rear suspension was damaged. Tried to manage to car home. But the handling gets worse each lap so that i retired at the end.

I really like this combination, even moreso since my screen did not freeze once during the whole event

Q: Quite a nice q this time. Got many very similar laps together.
It was hard to get under David's time here and I really tried to throw the car harder into some corners then I thought it would let me. But to my surprise the car did really have a lot of potential over 1-2 laps.
Funny enough I got my fastest lap in with a tiny bit of toe from someone in front of me whilst he had his engine blew up right into me :D
I was happy to get to pole since I saw me lacking a tiny bit of topspeed on straights.

R1: First couple of laps were a bit shacky, did too many small mistakes and got David too close behind me, when I got some chunk of dirty-air from a lapped driver on the last turn and I lost too much momentum for the straight, David passed me.

I tried to wait a bit behind David and at some point starting to attack certain laps, but I never really got good enough laps together to do any attacking and i was actually just relieved that Matt did not catch me at some point.
Very good race by David considering he heasn't done many full races in rf2 yet I think

R2: This race was a bit crazy, since I maybe just passed 2 or 3 cars but still got from 13 to 1 :D
Got completely unnecessary passed by David in the beginning where I was too cautious, but got a lot of luck later on with guys loosing it in front of me.

Had a much better pace in this race with the same setup, so I guess I did have less lockups and mistakes here; very happy with that one :)

q: 1st / r1: 2nd / r2: 1st

Bring on the next one, hopefully with some drivers returning to the grid. Where was Arnaud? :(

I hit someone in turn 1 Race 1 and Matt says it was Andrew sorry mate, after that I had a pretty good and consistent race, one or two battles along the way and finished 7th I think, I had a funny few laps around about 20 laps in and I thought I had some damage or a puncture but everything was ok but I lost a couple of places through it, probably just me.
Race 2 though I lost all my consistency and dont mind admitting I was struggling, quitting is never an option though and points were still on offer when I saw a cloud of smoke up ahead, I chose to go to the right but unfortunatly hit Sean and it was game over, well done to my team mate for 2nd place, he could have won but looked like he put a rear tyre on the kerb coming out of turn 1 and spun losing P1.

Thanks to the guys for stepping in and sorting things out at short notice due to Ian's absence.

R1 was a frustrating experience for me. It was pretty exciting and action packed, but a while in when Frederic and Nicky both passed me at the same time in turn 2, I found myself on the marbles. The car flicked back towards the inside just a little bit, but enough to hit Nicky. Sorry about that :( Though if it helps, I ended up losing both my wings. And that 94 second repair pretty much left my race in pieces.

I must say though, I quite liked how the car handled without either wing. When you lose just one, you get really horrible balance issues, but when you loose both, you're left with just mechanical grip. And it was quite nice. I'd have probably had more fun if it were more competitive though!

R2 was more like it though. Things became more relaxed again when we lost the rubbered in line, and had to start warmup on a green track. I didn't really want to start in 3rd, but it worked out okay for me. The first half of the race basically involved identifying drivers behind me, and letting past the ones who I had no chance of defending against. I'd only slow myself down if I tried, so saved my energy for folks I thought I had a chance at beating. Brought it home in 7th, and that's a high note to end on for me. :)

Thank you Rupe and Marco for making sure things move forward with this series. We had a period of uncertainty at first, but I'm glad to see this is still very much going forwards, as I'm really enjoying this series so far. :)

It's not really the mirrors. I prefer the lightly higher tv cam position to see the limits of my car better(for example the front wing).
I know what you mean, it's a much easier view to place your front wheels on every apex from the TV camera. Though the purist in me calls it cheating. :p

I think it was race two but no problems mate !
