Just to say thanks all for racing.
It was a mixed race for me. I was P12 in Q1 but with a PB.
I tapped Borjas gearbox and lost my front wing, I think he was ok. So pitted for a wing.
Rejoined and raced out of position but for the first time I had mid pack pace. PPl took many laps to catch me and then I would pull over under blue flag but could stick with them. This was a new experience as in previous rounds I was many seconds off the pace.

Race 2 I was staying conservative and running down the outside and must have taken kerb under brakes spinning into the armco and suffering minor body damage. The car was ok so I kept racing. With 10 laps to go I overcooked it in the final corner onto the straight and destroyed rear end incl suspension.

I then spectated and watched intrigued as Dino chased after David J. David J reeled off about a dozen laps all within a tenth of 1:24.8. Dino was getting low 1:24s and gradually closed to 1 sec. David Spun and Dino was through. Quaility driving from both guys.

Thanks Marco and Rupe. You guys are appreciated.

Next time out I want to be on the leaders lap!!

Thanks

Hi guys

Just to say that I will not race more in this Championish.
I was tryingo to make a better set I learn how to drive the FR 3.5. At Mills was 6 second slowers. Today at Portugal 3-4 seconds. So I think did a good job. Running a lot at the server, changing the FFB setup (I had it really bad. Also still have some problems because when I want to put a gear down, sometimes the gearbox go down twiece -from 3 to 1 gear, and had some problems becuase of that)... but I´m still too slow for you.

Today two races, twiece hit on my back and got out of the race. Maybe it happens to me because I´m not fast enough but at least when I.m running always try not to hit anyone even thought others need to pass me.

So... two weeks running, I did more than 200 laps. Really I was happy becuse learned a lot of making setups but the races began and at the first one 7 laps and at the 2nd one only 2. I am very sad.

Really you are doing a good job and me not... But maybe I disturb a lot on the track.

See you!!
Borja,
It would be a real shame if you leave.
You are finding pace which is great news. If you keep racing you will find more.
You are not disturbing others I'm sure.
You are not alone in problems with contact, it is happening a bit too much.
We as racers all need to make a big priority of no contact. race clean then race fast. If we cant do that we will have dwindling numbers of drivers.
We also need to start to see the RD rules being enforced. Our signup thread asks us to show respect when passing. If we don't then we need to expect a penalty.

Dont quit Borja, you will find some more pace natarually as the races progress, we had iirc 14 Sunday night and a quick glance at the sign up thread reveals 30 sign ups and we have only had three races, I will try and get my mate Gary to sign up, he used to race here a few years ago and has been doing a bit of practice with me and enjoying racing again after a break.

Hi mates

I wanna thanks a lot your words (simon, dino, david, martin...).

The other day I was really sad because of my incidents... and also my speed.

I modified my graphics settings as Simon recomended in a private message. I have asked to other mates how to improve performance of my grafic settings, and with their help I have win between 15 and 20 frames.
I have also ask for a better internet contection in my house becuse mine is really bad.

Have to say again thanks for all, and apologize for my anger the other day please.
So I hope I will see you next race.

p.d.: if the staff allowes me I will ask McNolo for the last version of Baharein (I am in the staff of racerfactor with him).

Went onto Bahrain last night.
Fairly easy drive in these cars compared to previous tracks so might provide some good close racing.
For a bit of fun i filled the grid with Ai in Formula 2 as well as FR3.5. Their pace was fairly similar, mix of cars on leader board. Need to turn them up a bit as at 90% they were +2.0 sec.

See you on the server gents.
Who wants to try for a practice race in the intervening weekends?

NEW RESULTS POSTED.

As it seems, the previous results where calculated manually. As I do not do that, I had to setup GPCos from the base. This means I had to process the results for all rounds.
Info divided over multiple postings due to attachments.

The qualification results still have to be processed, but I did not wanted to wait longer with posting this information :).

PLEASE check it, as I was not present at the events before. I have to go on the result files.
Until results are final, I have not calculated the points for:
- points for Poleposition (3) - only for race one
- points for most positions gained during race (2) - for both races

IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT INCIDENT REPORTS!

I am not 100% sure if all the incident reports for round 2 are processed. So, as a one-time offer only! I hereby give you a chance to re-file any reports for round 2. Send the reports, according to the info posted in the General Info thread, via a PM to me. Make sure to include a vid of it.

Replay files for round 3 are posted above. You can file a report if needed, and send it to me.
Please make sure you have done so BEFORE March 2nd 2014!

After that date, we will review the incidents, look at penalties that need to be given, and implement it in the final scoring. Then final standings will be published.

I see there is a new Rfactor 2 build out 494, will we be using this build for the next round ?
Normally Martin we use the latest build so update away.

Last night I had a fun race with AI.

45 mins grid mixed with 2012 F2 and FR 3.5.
The AI seem pretty well implemented at Bahrain so well done RD staff.

Set them at 100% and was P2 on the grid. Had some issues on cold tyres and dropped as low as 7 before fighting back up place by place lap by lap. The AI were quite fiesty, if I went to the inside before a braking zone they would crowd me like a couple of well known German F1 WDCs. So I pulled acouple of Mansell like fakies where I would lunge inside then go outside, their covering move then compromising their corner entry line and exit speed giving me the over and under pass outside.

Made it to P1 but they were still all over me like a cheap suit. Twice was re passed for the lead when I left a door open. Real pressure.

Margin was appr 3 sec at race end.

Trivia:
Race distance was 25 laps with the 45 mins coming up in sector 3.
Fuel use was 66 litres without a warmup lap. So 2.64 lit / lap. or 69 litres incl warmup lap for 25 laps with no margin. So given that the aliens might get another lap started for me its 73 litres. We do however seem to set a lap qty rather than just the time of 45 mins.

The F2 cars were gradually dropped but not by much. Prob 15 sec gap at the end.

Next session at Bahrain, a bit of wet weather driving and maybe a session in the Marussia F1.
This track per se is not hard to drive, maybe we can get a little rain at the oasis?

Now am I right in thinking that ISI updated and gave the same physics as the Marussia to the Formula ISI?

Now that was fun:
I did a practice session starting hot and dry 31 degrees...
Turned wet and 26 deg with stronger southerly winds then..
dried out with a strong easterly blowing away the clouds before settling in to 33 degrees again in the desert.

The wet tyres are very durable and very good on a drying track. I was 2 sec / lap off PB on the drying line. They showed no signs of wear or excess temp (ideally they would have I suppose but they don't). When switching back to dry tyres I was slower even after 2 laps and the track felt quite green after the rain (fronts were locking up etc) which makes sense. On lap 3 I pushed and got into my PB again. The dry tyres felt much twitchier after the wets and needed to get into their zone.
Conclusion: Dont rush to get off the wets on a drying track and dont hesitate to get on them on a track that's getting damp:geek:.

With this new found knowledge I'm going after the AI in a mixed weather race. Ill make Jenson proud.:)

p.d.: if the staff allowes me I will ask McNolo for the last version of Baharein (I am in the staff of racerfactor with him).
There is no harm in asking I guess :). I am not sure what his plans are seen recent situations, but if he has a version compiled, or wants to compile one for us, with current status, that would be nice.

Incident reports + penalties for Virtual World Series by Renault, Formula 3.5 edition.

Decisions posted here are final, and not negotiable. Penalties will be served on the next round. For the last round, a time penalty will be applied.

For the rules for the wet in rF2 are pretty simple. Rain starts in a fair amount => Rush to the pit and get wets. Be careful with the wets in the wets, because it is easy to lock or overheat them. When it is getting dry stay long on the wets.
You don't gain a big advantage going early to dry tyres. This has still to be improved, but I can live with it for now :)

I tried to desperately get that win I lost at Mills, but it sadly wasn't to be. But I hope I gave Dino enough work to catch up to me(at one point, I was over 5-8s ahead of David G., but half-spun at T1 for the first time):p

I am happy with my podium though, who knows when I get near it again(as I failed in R1 when I was going for a Top 5 result).
