FWIW the default diff ratio is the 3.5*:1 option.
to get another ratio you follow Warrens procedure for getting the files transferred. I did it and it was simple.

I will load up all my current params in my setup into the 3.73:1 ratio and see how it drives. I suspect the car will be between gears for many of the corners but maybe not.

After testing the 3.5 (default) was the best suited for this track.

Eric log on the practice server im there right now.

V8 @ Singapore is the server name and the password is here http://forum.racedepartment.com/gtr...-supercars-singapore-08-sunday-march-1st.html

Well we had ourselves a good lapping sesssion at Singapore last night.

I helped BOB w/ some basics and he clearly is getting quicker all the time.

Then Keith rewrote everything I know about this car and got me learning a completely different style of driving this big car.

The spirit of cooperation was great and I need to thank Keith for revealing "alien speed secrets" and the setup to go with it.

I am thinking we can have a coaching session as guys are available to impart knowledge. I f you haven't gotten TEAMSPEAK going DON"T WAIT! a simple $10 cellular ear bud w/ boom mic will be fine to use.

Hope to see you out there soon!

One quick comment - any chance of either moving these Sunday events either back or ahead 1 hour? As it stands practice starts at 6 pm here, which in an admittedly selfish way is inconvenient :)

I can definitely vouch for the playseat evo/G25 combo. It cuts down on back and leg fatigue greatly (especially for endurance races), plus offers much opportunity for customization. They are well made and structurally sound. As an added benefit, you save wear and tear on your wheel/table by not having to mount/dismount the wheel frequently. As far as I know you can also mount many other wheel/pedals with little to no modification as well.:good:

I have to say, I think it would be a mistake to take away the NA forum. It really has nothing to do with the language we speak, but the common timezones we share. I agree it is invaluable to get out on the main forums and mingle with the rest of the world (literally) in our community - admittedly something I am guilty of not doing as much as I should. There is seemingly infinite knowledge here about sim racing and beyond, and it would be a pity to not utilize it to its fullest capacity.

The purpose for the NA community is to create our own little niche in the club - easily schedule races the majority of us can all participate in and form a close-knit community in the process. It is by far the easiest access point for new NA prospects, something we have notoriously been lacking. I can say from personal experience, without a NA community this experience is daunting. When I joined up there really were no NA races, much less a community. Luckily Yves and a couple other guys were just starting to get the ball rolling and I happened to stumble across the proper posts (along with some well timed PMs by some of the NA admins). Ever since the inception of the NA forums we have had a huge spike in interest - it has served as a home base for all new members to ease into the community.

Again, I believe that this forum should be viewed less as a segregation and more of a regional organization tool. I won't have any hard feelings if you guys decide to go in another direction, but I do think we should think about the effect it would have on growing the regional community.

One more side note: I do not believe that this is hindering international turnout for our race events either - in fact I see it helping them. We seem to be getting a lot of international regulars joining the US events, especially after they visit the NA community and have more interaction with our members. Rather than just being another timezone to race in, international folks are enjoying our race events and are seeking them out due to the community atmosphere.

All things aside, I want to thank Eric/Yves/Tim/Marcel and everyone else who has pushed hard to develop what used to be a very small group into a thriving success. Well done on all accounts guys!

NA rFactor mod list

Hey guys - just picked up a copy of rFactor and haven't been paying attention to the rFactor community. What mods are must-haves for the US events at the moment? (so I can hit the ground running!)

Great to hear you got rF!! IMO it is a fantastic sim. ONCE you set it up properly it feels much more realistic than EVO.

The place to check for mods (in case you dont know yet) is here: http://www.rfactorcentral.com/ (gold mine)

I have installed the spotter and real feel plugins from here:
http://www.rfactorcentral.com/hall_of_fame.cfm?cat=Addons

Realfeel takes a while to setup, but once u get it right the ffb is just fantastic (pm me if you have issues)

Then you could start getting the track/cars for this NA rF event:
http://forum.racedepartment.com/rfactor-racing-club/14156-pcc-2007-mid-ohio-sunday-march-8th.html

The rest if is pretty much for us to decided. I would like to run some dirt tracks, champs cars, NGTO, etc...

I am as always opened to suggestions

Stcc practice

Tonight around 1130 pm central US time I will be on the server for Fridays STCC race for some practice if anyone wants to join. Provided the server is up. Have never raced that track so I need the practice time. Marty:bye:
