Welcome Nuno ... another Portuguese driver I take it? :jump:

Nice chair too mate ... I would love to have something like that, assuming its cheaper than a Recaro :D
... details, detail, details please?

Love the full-to-brimming ashtray too, has a good hazardous effect :wink2:
... and I also noticed that I have the same chieftech case for my old PC, albeit with a bit less of a nicotine-stained front panel :rotfl:

Enjoy your time here ... tis a great place to while away too many hours of your existance :thumb:

hehehehehe thx Lee , the chair is from a playseat , i got it real cheap too :) , now the ashtray is something else , its normally not that full but i guess i was lazy at the time :)

I tried joining the GTR Evo servers yesterday but wrong password , altough i read alot of the topics about passwords , ts etc .

Greetings from the west coast, US. Just found this site and really enjoyed viewing other people's builds. So, I thought I'd share pictures of my sim racer made out of 2" PVC pipes, MDF wood, a salvaged seat from a junk yard and some paint. The steering outfit is of course Logitech's G25. Temporarily using a 46" LCD but working on a 'man cave' in the garage where I will set up my DIY 720p LCD projector and 120" screen.

Regards

Hi! Guys,

New to the forum... Actually, I've been following it for some time, but I think I just gave up on waiting for RSC to come back...

BTW, here is some videos of my simulator rig... I don't really have any good pic of it.

Hi! Simulator!

You've got a really nice pod there! I love these PVC structures!

Just my 2c$, you will go back to your 46" LCD soon.
I have tested a lot with HDTV and projectors to tell you that 720p is not high enough resolution for a 120" screen. A hull HD 1080p projector would be needed for such screen size.

Another point is that increasing you screen does not necessarily increase your FOV.

Anything I can help with what I've tried in the past you may want to know, just don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers,

:chuck:

Thanks, it was fun designing and building it.

The 720p is currently coming from a 10.6” wxga lcd panel which was a step above the 15” xga projector I built previously, so, in essence its higher resolution (short of 1080p) is very much appreciated especially for movie nights even at a larger scale of 120”. It’s quite costly to find a wuxga panel smaller than 15.4”. And true, having a screen of 120” doesn’t necessarily put you in a real cockpit FOV mode like yours but it does, however, draw your attention more into the game as compared to viewing from a standard desktop monitor. My 46” 1080p Sony flatscreen is currently mounted above my fireplace so after a while it gets to be a bit of pain looking up at it while playing with the "pod".

You have a very serious setup that I’m liking a lot. It’s evident you put a lot of effort and money into it. Can I ask how you are projecting the 3 views? Are you using 3 projectors?

Hi! I see you have a lot of experience on this home build projectors, which I find to be really nice!

I am using 3 projectors with 3 x 50" screens, the projectors are connected by a digital TH2G.

Good luck in your project, sounds promising...

Cheers,

Nothing special, but does the job well.

Hope to go for the G25 soon.

It's situated in out house so gets a little cold in there during the winter:(.

The seat and its base were originally used with a desk, but when my son was born my little girl got the spare room and my pc had to go outside. So I decided to build the rest of the rig. It runs the full width of the out building and has a sub inside one of the side panels so vibrates well.

There's a cut out to the left for the FFB gearshift I started, but never finished.
