Sell me AMS2

wolf you always lurking, waiting for me to make one comment about something not feeling right. you dont know how i feel, and how do you know they are not testing something.
Because you're constantly spreading misinformation based on feelings and hunches and not on facts.

If AMS2 feels completely different to you from day to day when there haven't been any updates for at least a month, then the problem is that your installation/PC are somehow volatile. Shut down background programs and use VSync/frame limiting (-fpscap xx on launch commands) to have a constant frame rate, and recalibrate your pedal ranges at the beginning of every session to avoid calibration-related issues.

To answer your other question: Turn your wheel all the way to one side, then turn it the other way until it is the number reads 900 degrees (if that's what your wheel is set to in its calibration).

are you accusing me of fake news...ARE YOU SIR...feeling and hunches are all any of us have. I do my best with the information I have. Am I always right, well yes..I was the one who said there was a problem with the net code after 3 laps..if you wish you can look up the thread I made about it. titled Lap 3 maddness if i remember correctly. And ohhhh how they came out to say..Youre wrong, you dont know how to do set ups, you are the problem..1 update later, ohhh we have a problem with the net code and the cars are messing up on the third lap.. Hunch was right then.

Well you can see the update history on steam and if there was no update, then the game didn't change.
If it feels completely different without an update and you didn't change anything and it is actually different, then you could state that there seems to be a bug that changes your settings without your doing or that there are bugs that change the behavior of the cars or the ffb without the settings changing at all.

However one thing will still be a fact:
The game didn't change.

I wouldn't call it fake news though. It's just your lack of knowledge about update processes and that's totally fine.
It only becomes fake news if you'd still say that it's 100% true and we would be wrong

Guys as I said in another discussion, experience's differ, and it's easy to forget our PC's are complicated things and sometimes something that is seemingly unrelated can interfere with our games.
Personally I find sometimes even my mood can effect how a game feels
So please let's not start a bun fight.

Actually, when I use to play PC2 a few years ago, it seemed like the GT3 Audi felt different from session to session. I'd practice running 50 plus laps during a session to dial in a feel. Same car and track the next session, and WTF? Totally different feel. All settings the same. Not sure I've experienced it with AMS2, but I won't deny someone their experiences.

I would think the same thing. The R8 was the first car I ever got into and I would practice on Mugello short. I got to the second place time on that track but could never find that last 2 tenths. Anyways sometimes I would swear the game would give or take a little, but even in those situations my time would be within 3 or 4 tenths and its hard to imagine a game would have variation and still have times that were that close. I think when you start measuring laps by tenths and its easy to forget just what a razors edge that is.

If you run real weather, the temperature differences can make a huge difference in grip levels from session to session. AMS2 tyre models are extremely sensitive to overheating and it can completely change the balance and feel of the car. Also running at high- or low-altitude tracks will reduce your power by up to 80 hp in NA cars, which will totally change the feel from track to track in the same car as well.

I have also noticed a huge difference in pedal calibration values from session to session. If I calibrate my brake pedal, sometimes it goes easily to 100, sometimes I can barely hit 60. No other game has this issue requiring constant recalibration that I have observed. Once you know about it it's fine but if not I might be surprised when half the time I only have 60% braking power available. Hence my recommendation to re-do the pedal calibrations every time you launch the game.

Disregard everything I've posted in this thread. I was recently in the PC2 forum, and for some reason, I thought I was still there. Beer, I guess. Anyway, this hasn't happened to me in AMS2. But then again, I never practice, as I have yet to find chill league in the US for racing. I just fire up a race and assault the AI. Again, I apologize.

Interesting, I've been having pedal issues all week in AMS2 tho slightly different. Mine has been the throttle only going to 60% and the odd brake pedal having no response.

I was testing the M4 GT4 at nordschlief and had to reset the game and recalibrate ingame several times cause once I got on track it would revert to 60% throttle, I finally gave up and switched to the 570 and it has been fine since.

I can see how real weather can effect grips from session to session.
I don't know how indepth that system is tho I have a hunch it's not totally dialed in.
I was creating a session the other day using a certain date from 2021, when the session started it was sunny and dry. I realized I made a time length error in practice, exited, increased the practice time and not the time of day, launched the session but this time it was pouring rain?

In regards to real weather, do you have any idea on how indepth it is?
Ex. If it was sunny in the morning and rained all afternoon is it capable of the transition or would just rain for that set day?

Throw my 2ç:

AMS2 is good, but not "they price they charge" good.

I'm Brazilian, i feel represented by ams series. But Full AM2 Cost 400 local bucks (280 on a sale). With that amount of cash one can buy full ACC, Full AMS1, Full AC and one year of iRacing and probably some content. It's steep.

I don't care that much about graphics, i want to have some fun with friends with coherent realism. And for that end AC and AMS1 are good enough (and work fine online). And most importantly are moddable. If i want to sweat, I just go to ACC.

Tl,dr: It's a great game, just overpriced when compared with the (non subscription) competition.

I wonder if I have got my 50 bucks worth out of AMS2...Geeze let me think about it. The idea that this game does not have all the drivers makes me think NPCs are real.

Glad to see they put some effort into advertising there game. Last YouTube video was 9months ago.

Looking forward to the update, hopefully the new features will be fairly optimized.

k. well anyways. anyone know the deal with the new indy cars. are they coming next time or is it something that is being worked out. They said something about becoming official. I dont mind waiting if I can get a Newgarden/Oward livery. Be great if they made them come and race too or better yet if my driving skills were so undeniable that I get a real ride. also was getting bug splatted when trying to race gen 3 on the ovals is this common?
