Will there be changes to 2018_Chassis_P1 in V3, or can we continue to use V2 to paint?
Hi,
We would never make changes to UV chassis maps in any updates of content its a rule,
and why we spend that extra time to check and double check everything before the V1 releases,
these guys would hang me if I changed those maps :D
 
So lets start,
Here we have a RSS _"DISPLAY_2" which has taken quite some dev to get what we have now,
the blue bar to the left is the Charge,
the orange bar to the right is the Energy,
each corner of the display there is Discs that spin and glow, these are quite complex you can visually see each corner work independent of each other, wheels locking makes them flash, front and rears are visible of brake balance front to rear, really sets the display off just nicely,
also each corner we have tire pressures visible by LF/RF/LR/RR,
this gives the amount of pressures there are stored inside each tire which changes like the 2017 car,
inside the brake discs,
we have colored centers which replicates the compounds visually that you are running,
hards/softs/hypersofts ect ect , this will change also depending on what you have stored on the car,

bottom center of the display we have a fully dynamic water temp gauge that changes from blue to red all created in 3D shows min and max temps really cool to see on the display,
left and right center we have LATG and LONG,
showing Gforce values in numbers also a really nice feature giving precise info to what the car is doing at all times,

top center we have time, which gives the time of day and is dynamic and active at all times,
next to the time we have the weather icons,
these weather icons change each time you load the track depending if its clear, sunny, overcast, cloudy, ect ect , these are also live and change dynamic as the chosen weather you use when starting the sessions,
we also have dynamic track temps next to the weather showing ontrack conditions,
in this instance 36C will be shown as same as the UI, before starting the session again,
we also have track name this changes no matter what track you choose official or mod tracks,
the display will show the name of the track and layout you are racing each time you load a session,

dead center of the display we have the track map, this changes each session also and fully supports mod tracks and official tracks all the same,
dynamic track map,
to the left and right of the track maps, we have wind direction to the left in this instance is ready direction south, to the right we have KM/H showing 14,
this is also live and changes each time you load,
most these features only work with content manager CM,
if using the standard AC launcher most of the display will be blank.

The display_2 is a official RSS display and not to be associated with the official wheel and display_1 by wave italy,

the display becomes active by using the lights.

Yes. Most of these exclusive, dynamic, features are only achievable with CM as they have been uniquely developed with RSS and CM just for this car update, just like the track map work for the RSS GT pack.
 
You guys never seize to amaze me.

This is one of those moments where you guys have taken the original game and moved it so much forward even the developers themselves had no idea it was possible.

Yes works just the same way on and off,
there is some slight delay switching it on maybe 0.8 seconds,
but switching it off is instant, 0 seconds,
I tried for over 5 hrs just exporting animations and improved it some what,
must be how the engine controls the settings for animations causing some slow delay so lights open more naturally, we did try to solve it make it faster,
it is possible but looks not as nice, so we have some delay but everything works perfectly with zero bugs just a one way delay which is acceptable to us given the features :)

zero fps impact compared to v2.
 
Sorry, I meant the companion app. I never could figure out how to activate it.
We always recommend using content manager to install mods we use it ourselves all the team,
simply get the zip file or even most from RD,
and simply drag that puppy straight from your browser into CM anywhere in the UI,
will install the cars and apps, pit crew, fonts everything in one go,
then ingame go to apps and simply choose the rss4 companion app :)

Now if only CM could manage tire textures, but fortunately there's an app for that, or there will be when I've completly re-wrote it ;)

Seriously why anyone uses the stock launcher is beyond me - even the free version of CM is amazing for managing cars, weather, etc
