Freddie it might have been me....was chasing martijn and your car looked the same so you kind of surprised me with going slower, when catching up with you it was too late to hit the brakes as it would have thrown me off track so i just hoped and prayed that you saw me coming, and i am sorry.I personally really dislike chat in game so thats the simple reason for the no sorry ingame.

i do know that chat isnt allowed during the race. so i can understand that everybody respects that rule.

But what i dont understand is when having such a contact with an other car the normal rd rule isnt respected, even when its a slower car.

That's the last thing i mention about this.

reactions pls by mail, dont want to spoil the fun.

Horrible race for me! And only one person to blame .... myself! Stopped counting how often I went off! But I finished (12)!
..you are not alone...:highfive:.(10)
Sorry that it took so long for me to give a reaction of the race but i just wasn't in the mood:disapointed:.
After a reaseble start, profitit from other people mistakes and after a few laps found myself at 6th place.
But then the fun started,my front tyres were completely gone after +/- 12 laps and therefore i couldnt keep up the pace and was under pressure and made mistake after mistake,no big ones, just enough to lose a place.:smile-big:(and again and again)

with Bommel and Loffler agead, i gunned it, caught up to Bommel son, and the next lap was a 3-way battle for 9th, with Loffler going away, i decided to risk it, took Bommel on the back sraight, but something went haywire and there was contact i saw nothing just heard a big *CRACK*. Luckily nothing too serious happened, and sadly only one lap was left, and i was gaining on Loffler, but was too late and finished in a comfortable 9th.

Well i had to make a de-tour tru the gravel, Andrius, but no hard feelings:handshake: i'll will just practice harder for Estoril!!:fwd:.

tire wear

Really guys, I don't understand how you manage to destroy your tires. How much camber do you use? I go for a 10deg max spread on the front and 8 deg on the rear wheels, and never have any problems. I thought I was using quite a lot of negative camber

Tyres are pretty soon gone, when youre suspension is overdamped and/or you have to little pressure in the tyres....Estoril is a very nasty track, for the tyres!

No, 10 and 8 degrees celsius difference between inner and outer tire temperature in the toughest corner of the track at the end of a stint. I run around -4.9F/-3.7R or so camber. I tried increasing it even more for qual setup, but found that the car was starting to lose grip instead of increasing it.

My suspension is all green in MoTeC though. I run rather stiff springs, with medium+ damping.

Yes, that's 100% correct, but i use max 5 degrees between inner/center and outside of the band. So, we used 4.0 and 2.7 That isn't the problem and the suspension was green/little bit yellow. Bleu will finaly causes problems with the tyres. We used the spring as low as possible....so can anyone help me out, to solve the problem of Martijn.

  • Frank Herfjord

It depends which tyres wear the most I guess, but toe in/out is pretty much the only thing I can think of that could have a drastic effect with such conservative settings as yours. If it's mostly in the front, you could try moving brake balance to the rear and lower coast diff lock to balance out the turn-in understeer you're going to get.

But maybe if you study Martijn's brake pedal position you get the answer ;-)

my bad :) 5-7 deg between outer and innner is perfect 10 is the limit :)

...but exhausting. I've been practicing all day, and towards the end of the race, my left leg was starting to ache real bad. I have the CST F1 pedals, and applying 100kg pressure to reach full braking capacity can get quite tiring for a 60kg guy after a long day!

did you have the g25 before cst and if yes i would like to have some feedback how improve are those cause that what i want in the future and mostly f1 type from cst :) really hard on the feet with long race Oo ?

thx

No I used to have a driving force pro, where the brake was pretty much the same as the gas.

The CST's is hard on your braking leg, especially the thigh and ankle, and you absolutely need to use shoes. But you can adjust them to register a lower amount of braking force as the maximum point. But if you set the 100% point at the maximum setting, you will literally need both legs to achieve it. So everybody has different settings, I think mine is around 60-70%. It will also depend on the angle of your cockpit setup. If you have them installed F1 style with your legs straight ahead, they will be more difficult to use than if you have an elevated seat.

But once you get used to them, you will never want to go back to anything else. Because it is easier to auto-memorize applied pressure than pedal position to get consistent lap times.
