Wow! :D

I wasn't sure of my setup for this race, and found it hard to be consistent, but it all came good. Qualified 10th with a decent lap for a change and chased Martijn until he made a mistake, stayed ahead after my stop in 6th place and found myself catching 5th right at the end, I just couldn't get close enough to try a pass and it let Jari catch me up which made the last lap entertaining.

Very happy with that. Congrats to the podium guys.

Qual P3

During the first stint nice fight with Rami, he pass me by my mistake at the end. I gain the position after pit stop and we have another fight which i also lost by mistake. P4 at the finish, nice race.

Congrats for Peter, Rami and Gregory for the podium and to all who finished.

Hello guys, here my report:

Reached the event with zero practice laps done, it have been a busy week for me, but Oschers is a track I like and I know.

Soon I reached the low 1.20s in practice, and I was looking for a low 1.19 in qualy, but in my hot lap I had a cut warning, so I was last at the start.

After that, once in the wurm up I was in a 1.21.140 with full tank, so eben starting the race last, I was really optimistik for the race.

Once in the Race, in the wurm up lap, the 3 cars in front of me made a spin in the last corner od the lap, complete distaster, and then I had to wait (could not overtake them without going throuught the grass) loosing many time with the pack infront.

But I was really really focused in the race, and in 5 laps I went from P19 to P 9.

It all was overtaking cars on track, so I was really really happy to see I was in touch again, and very soon for the positions I deserved in qualy.

Some laps after I overtook (after making hughe preassure on him for some laps) the guy in P8 and then I made my strategy and I was P5 going out of the pits. But I was prepared to suffer at the end, my tyres where ready to be destroyed with some laps to go....

I even took P4 for 3 laps, but I could not manage to keep the guy in P5 behind, and he overtook me with 1 lap to go. But I made a great job defending P5 from P6 guy (Mtommi Tam). I reached the end with 5 liters remaining, or less...

For me it was one of my best races online ever, with STC last seasson at Dijon maybe.

So, I am happy, and tomorrow I will watch the replay again!

I think Ben is in the wrong Div......he's way too fast and makes other people push harder than they should. I was managing 1:23's in practise and thought that was ok , having drivers doing 1:18's makes you push harder , we can't handle it.:struggle:

Ben may be off-this-planet quick, but every league will have at least one guy faster than the rest. You just need to keep your head down and drive at your own pace. It's best to ignore the speed of other drivers and focus on what you're doing.

Anyway, my race report.

Qualifying: 6th. New PB of 1:19.8. :party2:

Race: Uneventful. spun off about lap 3-ish and from then on the race was pretty lonely. Finished 7th.

On my out lap I did pirouette so no good start to qualilap and of course I did few misses on my quali lap too position (4) 1:17,8xx blää :)

Race I follow Marcin about 15 laps then Marcin just did 1 miss and I was 3 :) gap was guite big for second place Gregory 10sek.... after pit I was again behind Marcin but now Marcin let me past right away:)THX Marcin :good: the difference for second place was 5 seconds so I was Pushin hard to catch him After 8 laps or so I was Gregorys bumber for few laps and finally T1 Gregory just go little bit wide and second place to me :)
Grats to Peter win again :peace:

yeah I know.... but if you've been practising offline all week and you think your fast enough to be competative it is a bit de-moralisng when you see times of 1:18's etc.

I was pushing as hard as I could in practise and my best was 1:23.00, I couldn't go any faster.

I'll defo be back for the next round , I'll keep plodding along :cowboy:

Scott: a useful starting point to shaving some seconds off your time is to race against online time trial laps with the racing line displayed. Also, in online practice, I often study the faster drivers in "race monitor" to see what lines they take. If you watch a replay after practicing, you can also see their gearing.

race report:
Qual: 11th, 1:21.0 The first lap of warmup, I also did 1:21.0. Annoying, but pretty common for me.

Race: I spun into the wall in the uphill section of the last sector on the first lap, and fell down to 16th. After a couple more laps, I watched Glenn Petersen do the same mistake as me.

For the first 6 laps or so, I kept overshooting the entry of T3 and was struggling to find my pace. But after Glenn passed me again, I pulled myself together and had a nice fight with him where we stayed very close for several laps. I mistakenly thought I might have hit him as he spun out at the end of start finish, so I waited for him to get in front of me again.

I did a late pit stop, and made came out P10, making up two positions. Somebody was complaining about worn tires at the end of the race, but I can't seem to wear out the tires on these cars no matter what. What camber settings do the fast guys use anyway?

After pitting, I had David Buxton of my tail until the finish. He could never quite catch me, but were close enough the whole time that I got pretty stressed trying to stay consistent.

All in all great fun, and I managed to reach my goal of finishing in the top half of the list :)

...but exhausting. I've been practicing all day, and towards the end of the race, my left leg was starting to ache real bad. I have the CST F1 pedals, and applying 100kg pressure to reach full braking capacity can get quite tiring for a 60kg guy after a long day!

oh, shoopdidoowa! this race itslef was possibly the best yet had!

Qualy : was going alright, but then HUGELY stuffed it after the 3rd hairpin, went off the track into the gravel, i knew i was done for. An i WAS! last on the grid, but my mood was up for whatever reason, i was ready to go all-out in the race.

Race: after starting last, took 19th in the 2nd turn, but then something went rly rly rly bad, got off the track at the 3 left-handers, spun across the track and was back to last with ~ 5 secs to the closest car, took a deep breath and just went for it. And so i did, shortly after i was back in 19th, then after some racely pushing and agressive, non-relenting batling got into 18th. After that there was a lil' gap to 17th, so it was like a breather. Gaied up on 17th soon enough, and luckily the guy made a mistake, so took him no problems at all 9or was that 16th? i think i t was) next on my targeted was my teammate Jamie, i was being extra carefull not to mess his race up, so after a 3 turn-long side-by-side battle, i took him (nerveracking that was). In 15th i was gaining on 14th, and so it went on, till i cought up to Gijsen, who co-incidentally, nearly spun out on the last turn, so i took him, but then after about 2 laps i went off the track in the 3 lefties, so untill the 1st pit stop, i was going after him. After a succesfull pit, i actually gained a position and went back out to the track in 13th with 3 seconds to Ericsson in P12. After i caught up to him, i couldnt get close enough to pass, and more than that, we were gaining on Bommel and Loffler, started to look interesting. After we caught up to the two of them, it was basically a single-file follow-rama, if you will :D

After some time, Ericsson caught up to a lapee, who didnt really mind the blue flag as far as i saw it, they made a little contact, went appart, made a gap just big enough for me to slip through, and slip through i did, and w/o contact (that's the bit of the race i'm proudest of :D) so, with Bommel and Loffler agead, i gunned it, caught up to Bommel son, and the next lap was a 3-way battle for 9th, with Loffler going away, i decided to risk it, took Bommel on the back sraight, but something went haywire and there was contact i saw nothing just heard a big *CRACK*. Luckily nothing too serious happened, and sadly only one lap was left, and i was gaining on Loffler, but was too late and finished in a comfortable 9th.

Cant wait to see a big green number next to my name in GPCOS :D

Looking forward to the next race now, hopefully i'll get back in me groove like in Zhuhai, till then, And gratz goes out to the podium, great job!

I'm sure you didn't enjoy that pass ;)

Superb as usual mate, good battle with you and david.

I'll post a proper report once I've seen the replay.

You do know there are hotlap stats, right? Just go to timing.racedepartment.com , pick your class etc, and there's a whole lap database. This is how I find my feet before races: I go onto the stats, see what times people are doing on a certain track in a certain car, and then I work from there to try and match those times. As Frank said, getting onto the server and studying the lines others take helps too. :)

Well I think I was a lucky son of a b*t*h 2nite.

I knew that I was going to struggle to keep Michel and Johan at bay at Oschers and that Ben would be out of my league, but I didn't expect such a rough race and still come out ahead (well 2nd to Ben of course).

In practice I was around 6th, but I was confident that I had more speed available, just hadn't enough time b4 Qual to get relaxed and in the groove.

Qual was not good though as I messed up T1 and had to really get my head down to salvage the lap. Fortunately I managed to get 5th so it was damage limitation and I was happy enough to be in touch with Michel and Johan.

Warm up was a moment of stupidity though. I made a sudden setup change that initially felt good, but I'd not managed to run many laps with it. Tire wear had not been an issue for me during practice in the week, but this change seemed to speed up the wear rate of my rear tires as I unfortunately found out during the race.

The warm up lap was not even a minute old when we lost Johan :(. Promoting me to 4th at the start behind WSR cars Dan and Michel in 2nd.

Dan got out wide in the three left handers and that allowed me to get into 3rd. I stuck with Michel for a few laps and started to close up on him when he got too deep into T2 and onto the grass handing me 2nd. Then at some point Michel fell away and dropped to 6th and I had some daylight between myself and Dan. Ben was well away by now and I knew that he was not going to be caught by any of us. Then I started to lose my speed and Dan closed in to within 1.5 seconds b4 I managed to get my pace back and pull away again. I made a mistake coming into the chicane and had a trip across the grass nearly wiping out Scott who I was about to lap (sorry mate). Then things went badly wrong and my race was going to get complicated. Going into the long right hand turn b4 the chicane and gently applied the throttle as I had done every lap in practice etc and with the pedal barely pressed down it applied full throttle and it put me into a massive slide and I went off and Dan slipped past. Then I got lucky less than a lap later when Dan spun coming out of T2 and I was given back 2nd. It took me a couple of laps to get my confidence back and started to think that it was a one off. Then again several laps later in the last turn as I tried to apply the throttle gently the bloody thing floored it again. This time I managed to keep it on the track, but now I was worried that my pedals were about to give up the ghost. By lap 21 my tires were really crap so I pitted much earlier than I had planned and had tested during the week. I was back into 2nd once Rhys pitted and I'd lost quite a bit more to Ben who had pitted a couple of laps earlier than me.

I now had about 12 seconds between myself and Michel, but around lap 30 or 31 I had a real nasty moment. Coming down the start/finish straight I braked for T1 the throttle stayed on and I couldn't stop the car! I went straight across the inside then carried on into the gravel outside T2. How I hadn't hit anything I don't know. Then I couldn't get the power down gently on the grass. It seemed to be spiking from nothing to full power like a digital button rather than a anologue pedal. I struggled back on just in front of Michel. Now I had lost all confidence with my pedals and I was having to lift off b4 braking just to feel if the car was slowing. I was no longer apply power as early either as I was afraid it would spike again. I was hanging on for dear life and Michel was breathing down my neck. Fortunately he got wide onto the back straight giving me a small cushion with a few laps to go. He closed it back down to nothing on the last lap, but it was enough to save my bacon and I crossed the line a very lucky 2nd.

How I've managed to get away with this one I don't know and I feel that Michel was unlucky not to have beaten me 2day.

Well done to everyone out there 2nite. Back markers were very good and were no trouble at all:good:.

Well done to Ben as he had an awesome race and was in a league of his own:).

I'm gonna take my pedals apart and see if I can see what was wrong. I don't need this problem raising it's ugly head again:(.

racereport

Qualy: I´m not really friend with the hotlap, i won´t risk too much but finally i have some little (unnecessary) mistakes in my lap. So i dont´t get my time from practice which is normaly easy in qualy with the extra of grip.
Finally P7 with only 1:18.3

Race: This time start went well and could take P6 from Peter after he went wide second corner. Like in Barcelona behind Joao, first i could follow and make a bit pressure to him. Peter, Greg, Rami and Marcin was at this time already infront with a comfortable gap that P5 were be the best result for me so i think take it easy and follow Joao.
But unfortunately in lap 8, third corner i came a little bit off the line and spin into the gravel, lost some positions to P12 behind teammate Mikael.
From that i notice the car went slower and slower in comparison to the others. One lap before pit i go off track because off a little tap by Peter but was my mistake, he was already beside me what i don´t saw so i couldn´t close the door. :bump2:
Because of that i came out again behind Mikael after pit. With new tyres i could a littlebit faster and he let me trought. From this i was able to close the gap to Martijn but normally that was all because my tyrewaer gave me a bad to drive car. Really understeer in fast corners and oversteer out of the corners, only a mistake by Martijn gave me the chance to get P8.
Was a good situation for me because Martijn block now Andrius and Peter :peep: which give me room to bring P8 home.

Top 10, not bad but for the training i did still disaponting :disapointed:. Wasn´t able to find the key for a better setup here.
But however, congratulation again  to Peter as well as to teamate Greg from TBR 3 and Rami on third.
Hope Estoril fits better to me that i´m closer to the top then here on the to me strange track Oschersleben. :yo:

was a bit of a quite race for me

Managed my pb in qualy (1:17.5)

Michael was sleeping on the warm up lap so i managed to pull a reasonable size gap towards the first corner

I almost ran out of fuel (7 litres with 3 laps to go, so i had to cruise very slowly, so i didn't manage to catch Michael and Philip at the end)

Bring on Estoril
