there are special cutting rules for this track for the double curbing on the exit of the "diving turn" see in the pic below. Also the exit area of the "climbing turn" you may run all the way out to the ARMCO barrier if you dare.you may have 4 tires on these areas but do so at your own risk.

OK guys we will go with the full ATCC Start procedures this week.
Rolling Start Race 1 only! Standing start Race 2!

Rolling start rules are as follows:

  1. The pole sitter will bring the field around the track at no more than 55 MPH or 90 KPH once the start lights go off.
  2. The pole sitter will then drop his speed down to 45 MPH or 72 KPH once he arrives at the "Mohegan Sun BRidge" at the top of the hill uptrack from the "Diving Turn" leading to the main Straight.
  3. The pole sitter may accelerate to full racing speed once he reaches the "release point" which is where the track out curbing changes to double width.(pictured below) or where the pitlane entry begins and the grass/curb end for the pole sitter as he is inside of the double curbing.(seen right side of pic)
  4. Every car behind the pole sitter may also accelerate to full racing speed once the pole sitter has done so BUT MAY NOT PASS ANY CAR until you reach the start finish line!
  5. ONce you cross the start / Finish line, it's full racing! If you pass any car before the S/F line it is a penalty and reportable.
  6. you may only pass a car before the S/F line if he either spins, goes off track unassisted or disconnects.
  7. there is no gap requirement once you acclerate to full speed with the pole sitter. BUt maintain a 1 car length gap during the formation lap and until the field is released to accelerate..
PAtience gents! this is the first time we are using the "full spec" start rules. LEts not screw it up and ruin someone's race by being overly anxious in a CLUB RACE!

Eric in all the formation laps that i have done in Leagues, and club events. It shows that deaccelerating is the main cause for some good old mayhem. In point 2 of your post you say the poleseater have to drop the speed in the Mohegan Sun BRidge.
I hope this doesn't cause some bad accidents. In my opinion a steady pace will be more safer. Just for your info.

Eric

This is one of the tracks where we need to make sure that everyone pre signals their pit. It's a fast entry just off the "downhill corner" and followers may be tempted to pass on the inside when they see the pitting car not quite as quick as they steady themselves to turn in to pit lane. It's a recipe for disaster.

People need to be aware of who's around them so that they can signal pit in if neccessary. We're having it as compulsory in the ATCC so we should make sure that it's compulsory in these warm up events too.

Eric, I thought the full spec called for a double file formation lap?

I also think everyone should do a preset saying that they are now at full throttle if they are starting on pole, because not everyone will be capable of seeing if the leader is at the point or not. Just to avoid accidents where people have not realised that the race has started.

I see what your saying Ethan but you cant pass the guy in front of you anyway until he gets going. If we hail a chat for "Start" then guys in the rear may jump into the guys in front of them because they are working fomr the chat cue rather than looking at theguys in front. BAM! collisions......

regarding the PIt entry chat..............ABSOLUTELY!!!!

We use this all the time anyways guys...I'll posta note to make it official
