Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
I had to delete all of the tracks folders including the reverent folders in Ui , I believe, excluding, l think “race” and “6long”, now the circuit has only these two tracks.
On doing this, I now do not get any errors and this track behaves like any other.
Never probably going to use the race & aircraft, traffic and kart tracks anyway, and if we ever do, I will cross that bridge when and if it appears.
I was about to try your instructions Ernie but now you are confusing me!

Circuits i left in ffhanh-96 track were "folders " 1race and 6long all the rest deleted
Changed to the latest surfaces.ini in 6long "data" folder
Went into UI and deleted all folders except 1race and 6long.

OK, it is working now. Just start with a fresh download of track. Unzip file to desktop. Opened trak file to relevent 6 long data folder. I just replaced surface file and confirmed it. Hey presto, no longer getting check sum. I think if it is not working, the only way is to go back to start from scratch to be sure of getting the files in the correct place

This is the way that certainly works. I have done it several times (in the testing process) and it always worked.
Make sure you delete the whole trackfolder ffhanh-96 first before you download and install it again.

Now I know how my Math Professor at the university must have felt when I told him how I tried to solve some tasks and just couldn't get the correct result :roflmao:

I'm not laughing about you or anything and it's definitely not funny, that you have checksum issues!
It's just baffling to feel like we're on different layers in the universe.

It's interesting for me, as a "PC kiddo" that I couldn't find a way yet to make it easy for you.
Not in a disrespectful say, I'm totally lacking in other areas!

Ernie's Instructions are confusing even me though, lol. :p

I'll send Allan and Steve the full track via PM. We all downloaded it already and we are good guys so what's the harm.
We just shouldn't do it publicly.

Is everyone else running? If not, quote/mention me here or drop me a pm :)

To everyone.

I would like to apologize for all the fuss about the in game penalties and the need to copy the file.
Now that I see your response, I could of course have communicated better about all this.

I hope you understand that this is also a learning process for me with the intention of making our events better. I've spent quite a bit of time getting to know how this works within Emperor and maybe I was implementing this a little too quickly in the upcoming event. Sorry for that.

I would also like to thank Rasmus and Bouke for their help with this.

Again, I want you to know that nothing has yet been decided to make this standard for future events and before any such decision is made I will seek your feedback and opinion on this.

@Allan Ramsbottom sent :)

I do not see why you cannot delete all tracks except 6long, will try and get to my pc and check everything I did..
You can definitely do this, but it's like getting confused while searching something in the living room and burning down all other rooms to focus your attention :roflmao:
I admit, that the multi-layout file structure is a bit weird in AC. Still made me chuckle :ninja:

To add to Han:
I'd like to apologize too! I'm between projects right now so maybe I jumped a bit too hard into this Emperor/Cut detection stuff.
I'll try to record a video at some point about Window's folder & file structure and how identical folder-layers get automatically merged by Windows.
And how the layouts are structured in AC too.

It's really simple, as soon as you can visualize it like a real world library instead of "PC stuff"

I want to apologize too, for bumping Han off the track an awful lot of times during testing collision thingies on the test server . My Ferrari against his little Agile… you know… it happens…

As far as I can see, most apologies are made now :geek::D

@RasmusP:

don´t make me laugh with: "that´s really easy, Bro!" ;)
Maybe it´s for you, how "normal people" think about it you can read on the last pages here
You really like twisting my words :roflmao:
I said it would be easy, once you visualize the Windows folder structure like a real life library.
I never said it would be easy to get to that point, which is why I think I should make a video about it.
I also already said a few words about this some posts further up on page 7, that I'd never say something like "That's easy, Bro". That would be disrespectful!
I really struggled to learn kitesurfing and I hated everyone telling me to just do this or that and it would come easily.

Every person starts with a different starter-set of skillpoints and takes a different path.
I would never expect anyone to know anything if it isn't their profession.

Riding a bicycle is easy and simple once you've learnt it. Getting to that point is very complex and difficult! Especially if you didn't have a balance bike and/or a scooter to learn the basics!

I believe I am all good now thanks Rasmus
