Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Im out, head started hurting after just a few sentences of that bull:poop:..If people cant stick to 2 wheels inside a track and repeatedly flaunt the track limits, they should be booted...Think everyone should go back and read the rules again fully, this should be fun and gentlemenly racing......Have fun guys...
Hey Allan, I think this is partly my fault - early on in the thread I asked 'cos I was unsure - I got the impression that due to the (1st section) track width, and potential for gaining time I'd practice that 'cos I thought everyone else would - see Han's post #32 (not to blame Han at all, that was before the track limit software discussion!!). So I practiced with both on and off to compare gains, or not. Then I asked on the server and others were under the impression it was 'all the road/surface' too.

Fast forward a few pages and tests were being done about track limits, and here we are, it's changed. But of course you're right we should be able to trust each other to stick to the limits, I think it's simply that the conversation about it all changed. Having tried the 'proper' lines earlier, there's one corner that the bouncing skate loses out on, but as long as everyone is happy with the latest ruling that's all good.

Hope you're still in on Weds:)

Imo we should clean this thread up, lol.
If everyone is happy about it, I guess we could delete every post that had to do with track limits stuff and just let Han post the final surfaces.ini (and my zip folder) with a short text and my how to video.
I updated my earlier post with the final surfaces ini.
Maybe @HF2000 can edit all his posts with the file too?

This discussion wasn't just about this one track. It was just the trigger to start testing new settings, finding out new stuff, discussion the next approach to it all etc.
None of us would discuss that much for just a single event!

In the end everyone only needs to put the final surfaces ini in the track folder and drive like usual.

haha, i was just typing a similar post

Simplified approach for now (as in: this race): this file fixes a 'flawed' mod track to work with the server just to get a track limit where it should be, as it is on real race tracks we're used to.

Good suggestion.
I will put your file in the first post and delete all posts in the thread concerning the in game penalties.

Any new questions can be answered by refering to the 1st post in the even details.

The correct file is in an attachment of the 1st post now. Here is how it looks if you use Windows Explorer.

I've got fingers crossed - replaced the 'surfaces' file but not the zip thingy, 'cos I still don't understand it:roflmao::p
Not getting it...Cant compare checksum is all im getting
Just download this:

It's the zip which contains the content\track\etc folder structure like "good" track/car mods.

And please do this to get a clearer picture of this all:

I would, but it's "illegal" without asking the author for permission and blahblah.
Im missing the ORIGINALsurfaces??,just downloaded the track again?
You don't need the original, since my file overwrites the original.

I am going to assume you are not going to use content manager, I am also going to assume you have a new download of the circuit fresh from Racedepartment
ffhahn-96.

I am also going to assume you have down loaded ffhah_surfaces~01.zip from #114 Rasmus article above, just un zip it.

You should have two files, ffhahn-96 and surfaces.ini

Go into the folder you have just downloaded >. ffhahn-96
look for a folder named 6long, open that folder and look for the data folder, open that folder and delete surfaces.ini

Now grab the new unzipped file called surfaces.ini and put that into the data folder.

Now put ffhahn-96 that into your content / track folder as you normally would do for any other circuit.

Did all that Ernie..Even deleted everything and started again from scratch..Not a problem, can catch up with some 3D printing im doing..
I'm very sorry to hear this. I haven't got a clue why it's not working.
@RasmusP Is it possible that Allan can give you remote control so you can find out what goes wrong?

I had to delete all of the tracks folders including the reverent folders in Ui , I believe, excluding, l think “race” and “6long”, now the circuit has only these two tracks.
On doing this, I now do not get any errors and this track behaves like any other.
Never probably going to use the race & aircraft, traffic and kart tracks anyway, and if we ever do, I will cross that bridge when and if it appears.

Alan, you are not on your own. I walked away from it last night as i was getting nowhere fast. I did the 1st file swop and was fine a few days ago. Then the 2nd file swop would not overwrite the 1st and getting red screen. Have now deleated the track and downloaded again. I am going to try Ernie's instructions. I am not the best at file placement and i guess it goes with the game. It is a hands on sim that we probably would bin if it was not for the great dev work that keeps it relevent. It is worth the agro for me as i dont want to play any other sim but i do at times have to walk away and take a walk.
