They say they are consolidating some of the stages for DLSS 3.5.

Thankfully, unlike DLSS 3 Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction will not be exclusive to Nvidia's latest and greatest GPUs. Nvidia says that this new addition to its reconstruction tools will be supported on all RTX-enabled graphics cards, stretching back to the initial RTX 20-series.

SadlyitsBradley is releasing a video today suggesting that a Valve announcement is getting close. Depending on what it is that they announce, it could take the wind out of the sails of the Somnium VR1, Pimax Crystal, and to some extent the Bigscreen beyond.

Exciting times....

And yeah, I'll likely pre-order whatever they are selling as soon as I can.

Looks like the new headset will be the Valve Galileo.

So the current thoughts are that Sephiroth is the processing unit and will be available in an optional puck used for stand alone/wireless use like Apple is using, but that PCVR will connect directly to the headset keeping weight and size down. Given micro OLED, pancake lenses and HDR are pretty well guaranteed, it could be smallish compared to the Index.

So far it seems like a cake and eat it no downsides design.

Also Valve opened pre-orders for the Index during a live Oculus event and Meta 2023 is September 27th-28th, so.... maybe???

My thoughts are that with a Valve announcement that the landscape in VR will change rapidly....

Aero sales Dead, Crystal sales Dead, Somnium VR1 may need to pivot and delay release. Future 12K will need to pivot. The BSB will have some cannibalized sales from this certainly in the sim community, but I think they are the only headset that is different enough to keep a decent following primarily in the room scale market.

Valve will obviously sell well and likely follow in the footsteps of the Index and be second in sales only to Meta.

they are going to include Israel soon. However now I’m more excited about Valve next vr headset.
It will be interesting to see what the Valve announcement looks like and how I feel about my BSB afterwards. No worries either way.

Honestly I hope the Valve announcement is jaw dropping. I'd much rather see a quantum leap than anything else.

I've been waiting for a Valve announcement for too long now. There have been so many rumors in the past that Valve is doing an VR- headset announcement.

I hope this time it's true and i will be online to do a pre-order as soon as it's possible, even if it's in the middle of the night. ;)

Sept 27,28th are likely suspects "if" they follow their single past precedent.

We are after all just looking at patterns from history with a whopping sample size of ONE release for the Index.

And yes that is likely within a week of when I'm expecting to see my BSB. LOL!

Who will be googling for Valve announcements every 5 minutes Sept 27/28th ?

I was also just told that 9/12 is Steam's 20th anniversary.

How do we know that it's actually VR headset, description looks nothing like previous certification for Valve Index. Could be just another handheld as they seem to be quite successful. (wireless device, etc.)

EDIT: Steam Deck 2?
