I think its worth the money. And the $15 feels like a little compensation for the negative critic they got having to go with a trial first then a full year. Now you have to pay $20+$156-$15 ... ;)

Although i am still on a month by month plan until i know my dog doesn't need anymore surgery. Every money counts in that case. However, this new deal from iracing will have me buying the one year plan sooner then i thought since its "a great deal". (For us swedes anyway).

Currently i am only doing offline practicing, trying to stabilize my self at a 1.50 race pace at Laguna with the solstice, and every lap i make i learn something new. (Still done 8 races and except the first one they have been a blast).

It sad to know the payment plan and the "iracing race session setup" hinder so many people to experience this (And of course, the lack of invites! ;) ). But i fully understand their reasoning and people have to decide for themselves what they feel is most important while simulating computer racing.

Yea that is Martinsville how can you tell from just those pics. Have not raced it yet have no idea on how to race the track. Need a lotta practice to get right the car wants to spin on the exit of every turn.

Lots of beating and banging, hmm SR nightmare :)

Heres a list of real life pro racers who race iracing.
Thanks to this thread i made on RSC Real life Pro racers? - RaceSimCentral Forums

I feel and i think most race iracing for its pure realism physics engine and laser scanned tracks.
I know i couldnt care about flags pitstops etc at this stage,im sure its all planned but the meat of any online racing sism is its physics and netcode, nothing comes close to iracing in this department.
Also the graphics are far superior to any sim out there which is a nice bonus.

I raced the solstice for a day and went on the the skip barber,i havent touched the solstace since.
Dont base iracing on just the legends and solstice, try the skippy and feel the full potential of iracing.

It´s a great platform for those who are only looking for sprint races
I dont call a rookie 35 minute race a sprint race, when you move on to class D its 60 minute races, with even longer races for A,B and C grades.

Reading you guys in here i really feel you are basing iracing on the entry cars.
These cars are exactky what iracing want people to start out in.
Im simracing over 12 years and found like pretty much everyone else ,i needed to start allover again with iracing.
This is real, its real beyond any other sim out there.
Yes the solstice in particular is a pain, but after a few hours you can move on to the skippy.

Run clean time trials and watch your irating spiral skywards, trust me when i say you havent playing iracing until you raced the skippy :)

Just my opinion but you guys seem to be forming opinions on the sim too quickly.

I have raced the Skippy and it is fun but too many people are sticking with the Solstice which means that I end up in a group with people 2-3 seconds a lap faster than me so after 10'ish laps I'm lapping alone again. I actually enjoy racing the Solstice.

35 minutes for a oval race is quite short, Sascha, myself & a few others from RD did a full length Daytona race in ARCA and in all it took 1hr 20mins.

I'm afraid that for now iRacing is going to alienate some people because of a lack of real features, like flag rules. There's also a problem with a minority in the iRacing community who are "elitist" and want iRacing to perfectly simulate real life and if you don't have the equipment then tough.
iRacing should remove the ability to use seqential or paddles in H-Pattern cars
iRacing should remove the Virtual mirror
iRacing should remove the recovery
iRacing should remove the HUD
iRacing should make you pay with real money to repair your car <-- That one is real honest

Like i said once you get a grade D licence your looking at 60 min races.
Personally im more into road courses so 35 for rookies on a road course is plenty imo.
Later on when people become more competent and experienced they can tackle longer distances :)

I´ve purchased the Skippy now. Now I need to get to 4.0 with the stupid friggin Solstice which is soooo boring. I hope I will be there in a couple of days. I try to stay outta trouble but once I stay out of trouble some wreckers turn up, hitting me and I spin around offtrack getting penalty points. Wow.

Id say go the boring route if you have trouble with people crashing into you, and time trial my way to a 3 SR and then jump into the advanced Solstice.
The races just seem cleaner to me. Also not qualifying and just running a reasonable pace at the back, passing only the cars that are much slower than me helps get the SR up.
Im over 4 in both oval and road now but wont be attempting any Skippy races just yet cant keep the thing out of the tire walls at VIR South.

They are quite fun to drive more power than the Legends but to be honest I wish i'd stayed with the road cars atm.

Not the biggest oval fan and havent raced the late model yet just tested so hard for me to recommend them one way or the other. Might try a race later.

But I think as the iRacing expands hopefully there will be more road and oval type series added with different paths to the top level in that genre ie: Tintops openwheelers, LMP types for roads not sure what could be done for ovals, so it could get really expensive to go both ways. So myself I think ill wait before investing in any more oval content to see how things pan out and what options/carreer paths present themselves, before making the decision on whether to do both.

But if you really want go down the oval and road routes I guess the LM is part of that path :)

Finally Late Models

Jesus Christ. I´ve spent nearly 6 hours to get my rating from 3.4 to 4.4. Thus because of stupid drivers that wreck each other or pushing me out of the way and I get the points for it. This is also because of the missing blue flags and a reliable spotter system. But finally now since 20 minutes i´m Rookie 4.46 with the ovals. I´ve purchased the Late Models and USA Intl Speedway which is completely differnent than the ARCA Sim Racing version. Lots of bumps on the track and the banking compared to ARCA is incredible great (different lines possible). But now I have enough of racing for today.

Good nite fellas!
