For the time beeing, i´ve done the step right now and cancelled my iRacing subscription. I hope later this year iRacing gets more comprehensive and hopefully iRacing considers their pricing model one more time. It was fun playing it for 2 weeks but the astonishment of iRacing just faded away. See yall maybe later this year when iRacing gets more attractive :)

"No" for me. I have waited to long on an invitation and from what i have been reading all over the forums is that is great but too expensive for me. Not that i cannot afford it but i have my focus on more then one game this year.
I dont have enough time to really commit to it or any other game fully

Already have and unsure about it - that what I voted

I got an early invite, was hooked on iRacing etc. blabla. but after 1 week, the motivation has left. With all the nice GFX, sounds, Laser scanned tracks and physics model, iRacing is nothing for me to spend money on. I`m not a guy that wants to hook up with 40 lapper sprint races or 50 lappers Late Model races. There a more points I don´t want to write down now, as they would extend my spare time I have right now. Therefore i´ve cancelled my account subscription last week which will expire on July 25th officially. I´ll keep waiting until more "useful" content is added to iRacing which keeps my interest up and running with them. I hope they will enhance the software before it goes live to everyone.

Already got it LOVE it. Signed up for the year and if it continues to improve will more than likely sign up again if not i wont. The cost yes its more expensive than other sims and content costs more but the quality of the tracks and cars for me makes it worth the extra to buy them.

Ive have tried to play other sims since getting my invite and tbh for me they just dont have it anymore. There is something missing they just dont feel right.

I might give it a try when more features are implemented (i.e. when it becomes a complete racing game). Why don't they release a demo? That might convince me.
What I would really want is a normal game (not monthly payments) using the same physics engine, even if it only provides a basic online racing system without all the points systems etc. But I assume that's never gonna happen...

I will propably cancel my account at the end of the trial subscription period end of July The reason is that i´m not satisfied with the current ingame content and the costs of additional tracks and cars. Also i´m tired of those 40 lappers sprintraces with the Legends. I´ll consider to join iRacing again when it supports longer races with Full Flag Rules, Pitstop Strategies etc. etc. etc. This sounds negative but it isn´t. It´s just a personal feel. I´m not a big lover of sprintraces anyway. iRacing is a great platform but lags of features i´m looking for in its current stage.

I swear some people don't read the FIRST code sporting rule book PDF that's on iracing. http://members.iracing.com/membersite/FIRST_Sporting_Code_042408.pdf

It quite clearly states the following....

Rookie 20 Minutes races, max drivers 12
Class “D” 30 Minutes races, max driver 14
Class “C” 45 Minutes races, max driver 20
Class “B” 60 Minutes races, max drivers 30
Class “A” 60 Minutes races, max drivers 30

So there you have it, if you want longer races then you have to work your way up through the licences.

If you cancel I can't say for sure if you'll also lose your stats and have to start from scratch when you rejoin.

Whilst I do share your opinion on longer races in terms of them not being available from day 1, the longer races are available, you just have to grind it out over a few weeks till you get your higher licence, that's why you have a career in iracing.

Ah but thats the very thing. Why should you grind your way through this stage when you can jump into another game and get a longer race (or whatever else you are after) right away.

I'm with Sascha on this one, right now iRacing's plus points are outweighed by the restrictions that have been imposed. I still hold out hope that one day they will get the balance right though as the core game is still very strong.

... oh and for anyone else who wasn't aware. iRacing will auto renew at the end of the month unless you set it otherwuse .. nearly got caught with that myself :(

Daveoooo. The problem for me is not the sprint races in general and that you can get longer races "if you grind long enough". First of all, iRacing is to expensive for me for the time beeing. That is the main reason. The second one is that fundamental parts like a reasonable spotter and Full Flag System is missing. I´m fed up with the people that are laps down, you want to overtake, but people keep racing you like jerks. On ovals I understand that a lapped car can fight for his position not beeing lapped but on road courses it is a nightmare if there is NO blue flag shown to make clear that a faster car comes from behind.

While I hear now the arrogance of other racers by saying: It´s your own fault, if you can´t overtake right....

it is a pity that those arrogant racers do say something like this. Why is there a sporting code that decribes the differences between Yellow, Blue and Blag Flags?

Whatever. Have you all fun with iRacing and throw all your money out. I´ll stick with NR2003, rFactor and ARCA Sim Racing

While I have read many positive things that sound appealing, there are a few gotchas for me like being forced to drive cars/tracks that you may prefer not to, high price for extra content, relative immaturity of the game etc. So I might try it for a month just to see what all the fuss is about, but ultimately will wait to see what develops of the whole thing (or if it fizzles out).
