AC GT3 @ Red Bull Ring - Sunday 10th July 2022

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Ok guys,

With Dmitry, Aki, Joel and Enzo we have 4 aliens for the race Sunday. Make sure to save the replay as this can be a great learning opportunity!
Wow! It will be a privilege to be part of this race, even if I will be watching my mirrors and real-time quite a bit I think............... looking forward to this one!

The (my) biggest problem with the GT3 cars is, there are too many of them. Still, after nearly 2 years of GT3 racing, I can't decide on one car and stick with it :D

I really like the GT-R because of its onboard sound and power out of corners
I really like the McLaren because I'm fastest with it
I really like the Ferrari because it feels very sharp in corners and also has a great onboard sound
I really like the Lambo because of its straight line speed and pointiness in corners
I really like the BMW because of its easy handling and superb stopping power

I don't like the Audi because it makes weird onboard noises which annoy me :D
Glick/SLS are not competitive with me behind the wheel.

Porsche, still haven't tried it - see my problem?
If you want better sounds in the Audi (or any of the GT3 cars) then Brian posted a link to some sound mods

The Audi still has an odd internal gear whine sound but I've found that you can edit this by changing the guid on the gear_int line from the GUID.txt file - I swapped it for the 911 ( which is a bit further down the file)

Never knew how to call that ugly sound but "gear whine" fits perfect :) I already use soundpacks for I think all of the GT3 cars but I didn't know I can edit them in such a specific way

Before I forget, here are some pictures of the ADAC GT Masters event @Spielberg RB Ring I've visited this year. The best motorsport event I've been so far. 29€ entry + 20€ for the grid walk 15min before race start. No big crowds, free choice of seating, all-access to nearly all areas, pit-walk, a cool Red Bull Museum with F1 cars, Nascar, MotoGP bikes ...

I was there on saturday and watched qualy and race for GT2, GT3, GT3, Porsche Supercup an a smaller hatchback racing series. Really impressive stuff. Btw track limits at T1 are non existend. (But that was agreed upon the drivers before the race). Anyways now I have an excuse for Sunday :)

That's my old teammate and good friend Dennis Lind in the #88 McLaren :)

What was GT3 pole time if you can recall that?

Great reading, :thumbsup::thumbsup:
I thought I would give the Mercedes a go, I am pretty much on the same pace at Spa, so had hoped for it here.
As I am a midfielder, thought I would say were I am with the Mercedes, “no where”, what a strange car it is here.
Loads of setup possibilities, none seem to make a fast lap much different.
It is though it laps in treacle.
I can make it stable, I can make its average lapping much more consistent.
I am about a second slower, and cannot get around that.
Spa, it laps within tenths of my best time??
I will stick with it for a while longer, in the hope I have a brain wave, come to think of it that is a bit unlikely as my brain is in treacle too.:roflmao::roflmao:

It's nice to drive. Comfortable, sounds great. My P2 in it has yet to be beaten, maybe never will ;) :D But that was at Le mans so, maybe similar to SPA it needs a very high speed track to perform. I tried it at brands... It was nice to drive but out of the blocks slow versus the gt-r crew it was, as you say, stuck in treacle.
