AC Group C @ Sebring International Raceway - Weds 22nd July 2020

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Cannot abandon the LT, it has been good to me, will have to think of a way to make it competitive here.
That’s going to be a struggle, this circuit has only one notable straight.
Just waffled my way into a Porsche LT please John @Medilloni . :)
Good to see you Ernie, LT it is

I tried it briefly yesterday - used full turbo at every opportunity but can't figure out when/if the engine will blow, the engine damage indicator is on most of the time:confused: The Merc on the other hand... feels so quick, but can't keep it on the road:laugh:

The quickest is definitely the ST, all the others really rely on their sole strengths. I remember Craig Dunkley in the Mercedes did a sterling job of keeping me at bay when I was in the ST.
All these cars are circuit dependent.
Except the ST which is strong everywhere. :)

Could I join please John, I'll try the Porsche ST. Not driven Group C's before, not driven Sebring and not sure how much time I'll get to practice as I'm working until 7pm every night next week, so what could go wrong!
That's great Chris, welcome! :)

The track isn't that hard to learn (imo), I like it 'cos like many N American tracks, it's 'different', and has an amazing history:inlove: The cars are some of the most rewarding to drive in AC, proper eyeballs-out-on-stalks cars.

It was you the last time with the LT showing no mercy on the straights at ??? (somewhere in America)? Since that day I said to myself I have to try and tame this monster but for now one TBD pls.

I'm going to bow out of this one now I'm afraid John, just spent a couple of hours trying to learn the car/track but its going to take far more time than I've got spare in the next few days to get to a point where I can concentrate on going faster rather than not crashing virtually every lap!

Also I'm not digging this track really, I like the layout but I've come across a few tracks like this in AC (Snetterton was another) with light, almost off-white asphalt textures that become really overexposed in my VR headset especially when driving on a clear day making it difficult to see kerbs and pick lines at any distance and actually gives me a bit of a headache. Anyone know if there's a way of adjusting that in CM without creating a custom skin for the track?

Have you tried the Natural_Rift PP Filter? It makes for darker asphalt textures, really nice. Havn't tried it at this particular curcuit yet but on all the others it looks great. More relaxing for your eyes as those bright greys. You can download it on RD, somewhere in the VR guide is the link.

Cheers, yeh that's actually the filter I use already as it seems to give me better frame rates in VR than the SOL filter, will double check it was applied but should be.

Have you tried adjusting the exposure levels using the 'Page Up'/'Page Down' keys on your keyboard?

Yeh I found those keyboard shortcuts via a search last night, doesn't seem to have any effect at all so not sure if it only works with the default PP effects or something? Also found a few Expoure and Brightness type settings in CM CSP settings etc and they didn't seem to do anything either.

You're in as TBD Andreas

787b please John.

NB. Don't think I got a heads up notification for it. Maybe others didn't either.
Thanks for letting me know George, a bit strange 'cos I got it, but will do a new tag list today (which is a ball ache 'cos you can't copy n paste:laugh:). You're in with the Mazda buddy:)

I had a similar exposure problem with Snetterton when I was using my Oculus Rift CV1 (I didn't like the track (over-sized kart track:p), so it was never an issue), but not with my Samsung Odyssey + (ironically, I do with Automobilista 2, so I fully understand the problem :( ) on either track. What VR gear are you using and have you tried the tracks off line? Have you tried the other cars?

I don't use any post processing effects, and I only use the vanilla version of AC.

I'm using the slightly older Samsung Odyssey but I think the screens on that and the plus are the same aren't they? I'll test it again tonight and first off check my PP settings are what I think they are, then without PP entirely to see if it helps.
