I'll be on a lot from now until race day if anyone needs to level up or just wants to fart around. I will have to bear down on India at some point though. A 1:29 in TT aint going to cut it there.

Nice one Robert, good use of that extra blue brake into one of the early left handers

I had to pass that sonofabitch on the grass. lol.

I know Karl, it's frustrating hearing the excuses.. I am not sure what cars and tracks we are limited to but whatever they are it's not what I expected.

Chris hit the nail on the head re the mirrors pointing out that we have actual working mirrors in F1 2013 so why at least a virtual mirror can't be included is baffling.

I'm not trying to defend them, because you have seen how I light into them on their forum, but keep in mind the scope of this game is MUCH larger than forza. Sure the detail inside the car was better and we got mirrors and pretty tracks, but we didn't get that many (over 100 variations of 22+ tracks in GRID) and that many cars (we got a lot of trash tin tops in Froza, but not truly different classes. But the biggest thing we didn't get was the serious and obvious work that CM has done on the game play and handling characteristics of this massive range of cars. They even sound pretty good. The whole lot, from the 50% or so I've played. That's not easy and takes a shi*load of resources. Esp. on the 360. The pit situation is a wash because I would actually rather have the damage the way it is in GRID with no ability to pit than the bogus pit repair and damage impact in Forza. But ultimately, CM did say upon release "it's all about the handling" -- and I think they deserve credit there. I'm just as miffed that they did a half-ass job on so many things, especially in on-line, but then I get behind the wheel so much of it melts away. And that's the true test.

And they only put working mirrors on F1 last year. And that involves far less tracks, cars, classes, etc. Obviously they can do it and should have done it, but I don't think it's a gamebreaker. We all played F1 2012 just fine w/o mirrors.

I agree it's not a game breaker but would have been good to be able to reassign that look back button to something else.

Regardless of number of tracks or cars you only have to include in the mirror what's immediately around you and in F1 with two mirrors it is far more resource intensive so I think they are talking crap lol.

i did some laps in mini yesterday. this class is not that bad, it slides alot but its not that bad as forza. i also tried many other classes with a friend. seems like forza, how faster the car how more arcade it feels.. im hoping the mini will feel better with setup and better wheelsettings.. next time i will try your wheelsetting peter, i first wanted to try the default setting.

While I can't agree with you about being similar to Forza (nothing is that bad...maybe Shift2, but I like the feel of almost all the tin tops), I can say you will get much more enjoyment out of the game with a setup and using Peter's wheel settings if you have a MS Wheel.

I'm guessing you are about, what, 1:27 or so? lol.

Yea, no complaints about GRID 2 or GRID Auto's graphics. Say what you will about the driving model but the game is extremely pretty.
Oh no doubt. It's clear they got the basics right, but screwed up the margins. Some think this omission or that bug or this lack of feature as a game breaker and others don't, but but I have not heard anyone (who has actually played the game) say "this is flat, unrealistic and dull, with no connection to the way I should feel in a car." If they did, then it would be out of spite most likely.

I actually owned the exact MINI in Forza. It was not even close in the slightest. These are very close. but they do slide a bit much, untuned. Even tuned, they are not as go-cart like as the MINI was to drive.

No problem Robert, I need to do some practice hopefully we are racing without A.I.

Depends on the number of drivers. League Rules state less than eight get A.I. so we will probably have a few. They actually made up the only really exciting moments of my last race and are very different in this sort of situation as opposed to the challenges or short races at the start where they rubber band.

lol. no robert, i did 2x 5 laps and my fastest was 1.32.5, so sorry peter im not selling it.
but the car is everywhere and im not really feeling the car.
are we really racing with ai? im not a big fan of that.
i know you owned a mini, but dont think they feel like this on the limit.
@Peter, theres only a small range i use at the wheel. you have that too?
