The racenet challenges are much easier this week so should be easy money. Already up to 1.1m currently got a Mini/BMW Touring car/VW Golf,Mclaren 12c GT3 and a Formula B Lola :)

Haven’t had a chance on them this week yet but I agree that they are a good source of cash both with the individual challenges and the bonus at the end of the week..

I think I have around 750k so have a decent amount of money available for cars but as mentioned previously it’s the levelling up for the tuning that is where I am struggling. I think it would have been a good idea for the levelling up to have been a purchasable feature as well rather than just something you earn by racing online. X thousands per level or something along those lines would have allowed the tuning of cars to be much more attainable whilst still requiring some effort to obtain.

DLC Update

Car Packs
There will be three car packs for GRID Autosport:

  • Best of British
  • Coupe Style
  • Road & Track
Mini-Expansions
When we first talked about GRID Autosport receiving Mini-Expansions a lot of you were incredibly positive, which is great! At the heart of each pack is a brand new single player championship and along with it a selection of tracks, routes and cars.

Each pack is built around a theme:

  • Sprint Pack
  • Touring Car Legends Pack
  • Drag Racing Pack
As well as content, we also know that timing is vitally important to you. With that said, we can confirm that all DLC is currently scheduled to be released before October 2014.

Just had it confirmed about the virtual mirrors. It will be a screen overlay and they can be turned off if you don't like them.

The actual in game mirrors weren't fixed purely down to time. Fixing all mirrors in so many cars would have delayed the patch considerably.

GRID
GRID Autosport // A Note on Future Content
By Ben Walke @BenWalke · On July 15, 2014
Now that we’re a few laps past the launch of GRID Autosport, we thought it would be a good time to talk about the extra content that we’re planning on adding to the game over the next few months.

Many of you that have picked up the Season Pass have raised the question; “just what will I get?” We understand that silence around a Season Pass can raise a number of concerns, which is why we’re here today to give you a rough outline.

Car Packs
There will be three car packs for GRID Autosport:

  • Best of British
  • Coupe Style
  • Road & Track
We’ll have more info on the content of these packs a bit closer to the time of release.

As mentioned above, a Season Pass is available on both PC and PlayStation 3, and each DLC pack will also be available to buy separately across all formats.

Patches
In addition to new content we’re also hard at work on patches for the game, some of which you will have already seen deployed and others that are still on their way. These patches aren’t only for fixing any niggles or issues that you’ve helped identify but we’re also committed to improving the game where possible, based on your feedback.

One such feature will be a virtual rear view mirror, which will soon make its way into a PC patch. Alongside this we will also be allowing advanced controller options to be available for all peripherals, regardless of whether or not they are on our supported list. While we cannot say for certain how your controller will work, the options being available should allow you some degree of control over them.

Both of these features are currently undergoing our QA process and we’re hoping to push them live very soon.

Playlist changes are also something that’s due to happen, again, based on your feedback. When we first heard that you were disappointed that some circuits were not making many appearances we took the opportunity to do some investigating. Once we’d dug deep into the playlist rotations we took the decision to change things up a little.

The end result is that you should now see more GP Routes (the right way around as some may call it) making an appearance and we’ve also increased the number of tracks available to each discipline, which should ensure that all your favourite locations make an appearance across a number of disciplines.

We’ve been blown away by all the feedback we’ve received so far and we look forward to once again meeting you on the track.

@Rupe Wilson

Ahh, thank you sir!

If they can actually live up to these changes, I'll be much happier with the game. I think its a pretty solid game already but there have been a few things holding it back, namely no such rear view mirror and poor support for peripherals not on their approved list.

Yea, it makes a big deal re: your perspective on Grid A/S in you are using a console vs. a PC. There really is no comparison, and there was no comparison before. PC will always be ahead. PC guys don need to keep pointing this out (as I sometimes look at the endless stings of code that people have to change to get one little thing right. Ugh!

In any case, I agree with Peter that this what the console deserved all along....a real racer, with diverse cars, beautiful, real tracks, diverse yet authentic handling, and A.I. that will not back down if you are used to abusing them.

The result is the best all around racer the xbox has (and will ever) see. The fact that it came a t the end, to extend the shelf life is just a huge bonus.

Looks like Saturdays it is. Peter made a good point about establishing our own day separate and apart from F1, and I agree with him. F1 will surely always be here in some form, and it's a good bet on Sundays. Best to avoid that.

Because of the international makeup of GRID fans, as opposed to F1, weekdays are tough since there is a tiny window of time (maybe 10pm GMT - 11GMTpm) that could possibly work, but even then, people in non-Eastern time zones here in the U.S. would still be at work...or then there is the 2nd and third shift workers like me. So we sort of got boxed into Saturdays, even though it would be great to be able to blow off some steam on a weekday. I'll be sure to keep that option open when Holidays crop up over here and maybe we want to challenge another club. We'd only need 6 drivers anyway.

Next question is -- what time? I've generally been hearing "the later the better" as a request. Is this still true? For instance, lateness, will not really effect North American racers, but how late can you all in Europe go? 12 midnight? 1am? I just need to get a sense of this. It will be Saturday night after all. After some comments, if you wish, I'll set a time in consultation with Peter. Then...we race.:geek:

Definitely having a set day for the league has to be favourable, consistency in this area is the best way to maintain numbers on the grid as it just avoids confusion and should be maintained wherever possible.

As for time well I’ve stated previously that Saturdays are a tough one for me to make with any guarantee but any earlier than 8pm would almost certainly be out. However, a later race time does not make it something I can definitely attend so my view from earlier in this thread that whatever is preferable for the majority should be adhered to regardless of my own circumstances.

One thing that I am not sure has been mentioned is whether races are run weekly or fortnightly. Just checked over the schedule and league info threads and we don’t seem to have definitively said one way or the other.

I want Mirrors! Real ones preferably but I'll take a virtual one over nothing.

Also I had a go on F1 last night after a two week hiatus and I was all......over....the place.

Honestly I don't know what to make of this. I was shocked when this happened in Japan, as my "smack in the face" was even harsher because I was driving the FW18. I got in the moderns and it was a little better. But it was still like an ice rink in some spots.

Where I think they have indeed improved the "ego" physics engine in GRID is the ability to correct and the feel in the turns. It is absolutely outstanding. With F1, it's like you are either gripping or not, and when all breaks loose, it's rarely correctable. Hence the "drop off" under-steer issue we had upon announcement. So for sedans, this is the closest I have come (with Race Pro aside) to feeling like I was back in a race. But since I have never been anywhere near an F1 car, the snappiness, especially with the throttle, could be a lot closer to reality than the open wheelers in GRID.

I think they had to make a few choices in GRID, and they could not adjust the physics to a wide enough degree to fit all car types. But I'm glad they erred on the side of the sedans, if this is true. Each car feels a bit different and, so far, how I would imagine it to actually feel if I could drive it.

Race Pro was nice and has the tuning and Pit Stop advantages, but just the driving alone is, as Peter said, sublime with GRID Autosport.

Nothing has been set in stone except the day. Peter, if you could give us the hour that would give you the best chance to make a race on Saturday, this would probably be what we would run with, since Alex prefers later and it's not really an issue for us in North America.

I would vote for weekly, since F1 is sure to pop up again soon, then we can gauge the success of the league (and game) in general and run another one in the same slot if the interest is there.

It’s strange because I got back into F1 a couple of nights ago for a quick refresher and didn’t really struggle at all other than my wheel feeling very different but I put that down to the fact it was my first time back in the modern cars since my HDD problem of a few weeks back and my settings had been adjusted for the Classic at Suzuka. Maybe I found it less difficult to adjust back to F1 because I have not driven anywhere near the same time in Grid Autosport as you guys have.

I certainly don’t seem to have the same issue with regard to the sudden loss of grip in all honesty and somewhere like Spoon for me is where this is most apparent as it’s a much tougher proposition this year than previously and I can definitely feel the car struggling for grip throughout that corner with little corrections required to make it through successfully, especially as the tyres start to wear. The drop-off understeer thing I thought was more of a particular wheel issue than an overall one for the game. I certainly never experienced it before the patch and in fact if you remember I actually preferred the pre-patch game because I felt there was more feeling in the steering at that point than post-patch.

I love the handling of the Grid sedans, no idea whether they are realistic or not but it feels very good and looking from the in car camera’s of plenty of cars on TV it seems authentic enough to me. But whether it is or not they are a hell of a lot of fun to drive. I am not convinced with the open wheelers as I have said before, there’s just an unrealistic feel to them at times but I haven’t done enough laps with them really so need to spend some serious time with them to come to a definite conclusion.

It's definitely one of the most fun racers that I have had the pleasure to drive though
