Hey guys how about tonight? I mean, like in, tonight your time. I can get on whenever and we can have a go at the first venue -- Washington D.C. -- in the MINI. You all have one by now or should have one. We can do short races to get $$$ and also that will get us familiar with the track. I've run it a few times. It's a blast....

Sounds good. I'll get on around 7/7.30. Will be nice to have a go around some of the street courses.

No go from me in afraid, Saturdays are generally not on for me especially at that sort of time but even more so this week as it's my youngests birthday today so out with her and have family round tomorrow. Enjoy your races

Yea, thanks for the session guys. Sorry for the delay there at the end, but I was trying to figure out a way to run a "Qualigying" session, and I think if you race a "time attack" race then you come back to the lobby with Championshp points (as long as the lobby does not disband. Then you can run the next race according to "championship points" and it will line you up in order of fastest. Tthen you can run a race and the second one can either be inverted order or finishing order.

BUt yea, thanks guys for the runs. Got some more cash and, more importantly, the Nissan Nissmo leveled up.

Matthew, you seems to dominate. You really killed us out there. so the game must come natural to you. It was good to get some practice in the D.C. circuit. And it is a fun track. Chris agreed. Lots f hidden time to be found.

After that we just ran one lappers at Infy and Chris got enough money to get the McLaren he's been dreaming about.

It weren't that bad you guys seemed to be slowing for corners that you can do flat or just knock it down a gear :) Good fun place that though my kind of track fast and flowing really.

Yea, it's like the super speedway of road courses. It's definitely got a lot more speed that first meets the eye. You can even pass AI on sidewalks! :roflmao: Of course, if we get in an open wheel car, things may get a lot tighter, so to speak.

I guess I tend to be a bot gun shy on road courses after plaing so many in F1 and Race Pro. Those are speed killers and car killers. This one is actually fun. Would be a good one for an IndyCar Series.

I'm dying to find out what the other routes look like in D.C. or if other cities have similar drive-ability.

I might not get on until a little later Robert. Going to a barbecue. Will surely be on at some point though.

Formula A cars are fun, as well as maybe one or two other cars. Not worth the buy for a few decent cars though. Someone said that it's a "simcade, but it's good at what it does." I disagree. I might call it simcade... maybe loosely describe it as such, but it certainly isn't "good at what it does."

Look at all the hype surrounding other racers like Project CARS and DriveClub. Codemasters keep pumping out shovelware. Their F1 games are like Madden, their Dirt games keep getting more and more watered down, as well as these in-between titles. If Codemasters actually put some major effort into something like pcars and driveclub, they might be able to hit their margins without shoveling out crap.

I read some time ago, maybe some time in the last two years, that Codemasters has to pump out game after game because they don't get enough sales off of just having one or two IPs. Maybe, Codemasters, if they were good and compelling, that wouldn't be the case.

That's weird cause this is the first game in the grid, dirt, f1 series that got perfect 360 controller settings out of the box for me. Maybe try playing around with the input device type option in the hardware settings config file.

Physics aren't decent enough that I don't think most people would even see any benefit in having basic controller settings anyway, let alone robust options.

I want to share opinions about online races. This game is full of butchers that instead to race and follow a line, prefers to play the demolition derby, this is my case( the victim) and how much I hate these behaviours. If someone would share opinions about his personal experiences.

You're playing a console-centric, arcade-y game. This is how it's going to be in a high profile Codemasters game.

There's plenty of others winth an alternative opinion to yours who are enjoying this game and it 'is' good at what it does in 'my' opinion.

I don't get your point about the 'hype' surrounding those games you mentioned? I never listen to hype about anything, I research something and if I like what I find I buy it. I am currently limited to the console and am happy enough with the games I have on that and enjoy this game and the F1 series from CM.
