Did you have a look at that gtplanet forum link? Boy what a mess that would not be something I would ever want to have to navigate through. I would have thought the structured layout we have here makes forum management much easier.

I think the deadzone for you is much better because of your other independent settings. For me at 5% there's just too much of a dead spot at the centre but at 0% there's no leeway. The linearity helps to some extent but is still not enough, or at least I have not found the right combination yet anyway.

The linearity for me seems to work the other way round actually, -1 slows it down while +1 speeds it up. Hence why I am currently at 0% deadzone and -4% linearity which to some extent eases the lack of deadzone a little and prevents the zig zagging that I have otherwise. The saturation can also help this but it's very difficult and time consuming finding the optimum with these so in the end yesterday I left it alone to just concentrate on the driving.

Throttle saturation is what I was playing with to try to dial out the issue I experienced out of slow speed corners and i think it helped some but I just had to be very gentle to really prevent it which had an impact on the lap times. Felt a bit like driving in wet conditions in that respect. I'm pretty gentle on the throttle anyway so I don't usually have that sort of problem.

As regards tuning I haven't even tried yet, most of my time has been spent in the challenge scenarios where there is no tuning available with the loaner cars. Or at least there isn't any available for me yet.

Yea, I didn't want to be argumentative, so I just kept quiet, but that forum was an unsightly disaster. It's like walking into a library and having no system or organization. One of the things that attracted me to RD was the simplicity of the layout (and it's gotten even smoother recently) but the depth of the content. I think one can get the wrong impression that you can't have depth without "on-the-surface" simplicity. Here, you can drill down (in a very logical and orderly fashion) into the categories until you find what you need. Over at GTplanet, you either need lots of time, or know what you are looking form.

That said, I ran into a thread that one of the guys here (avatar same as Tom) may have created: http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/8th-gtp-formula-1-world-championship.244223/

I think if we start our Race page like this, it will be easy to hyperlink to the section o the forum you need to find either the results or the standings. They both could be hyperlinks to the right of the race announcements, like in the above page. I like the layout there.. We could also refer all discussion about the races to the paddock chat area. One question: do you think I can do this from the thread that is already labeled "the schedule" or do I need a new one? I tend to think I can do it from the schedule page if we have enough hyperlinks and change some fonts and color around and make it fancier. Maybe we can get on chat one day and look at and design that page together?

I also think we shoudl create a conversation with all of the drivers in it just to give our notices, changes, updates, etc. in a quick fashion, since we can't change headers or merge content, etc.

Thats a good idea linking to the individual posts. Just tried it and it works here as well so thats one way around it.

I think adding the races to the schedule is just fine Robert. Why can the signup not be done there too? You would have the initial posts with the Current race, followed by the signups and then the results and any race reports. The hyperlinks will make that navigable.

What about videos? We have no separate videos section so would they go there too.

I guess a chat thread for all Autosport drivers would not be a bad idea although it is good to have as much chat as possible kept in the forum as it keeps the traffic there maximised which is always a good thing.

That is Club XP I believe. Where is that page? If it is connected to Club XP, you should have some now because you raced in your livery. That's totally separate from player XP or car XP.

This is why we all need to race in our Club livery when on line (unless you finish last like Peter does on ovals). lol. (j/k).

I think people tend to put videos where ever they want, so we should probably not bother with trying to link to them or creating a separate section (I think that's the kind of stuff Bram was annoyed at).

I envision the schedule to be like a one stop shop page. Since only I can edit it (I wish you could too...but tell you what...make a duplicate schedule. Go to my schedule page now and cut and paste it exactly how it's written, except put your name up top. Then we will have two identical pages to start off the thread that we can both edit. You can send me the "code" on the edit page if you update it (so I can match yours) or if one of us forgets at least one page will be updated. There are three hyperlinks under each race. I don't think we will need a "stats" section, since this game isn't that deep, like F1.

Yeah you're right Robert I now have over 8000 so it is linked to the club. What are lifetime points? Where is there a breakdown of what all these different things are then I will stop bugging you about them lol.

Hey, I was just testing the exit of turn 4 wall, if the races were 200 yards shorter I would have won a hat full of races tonight lol.

I've now changed my settings following some testsing last night with @Robert Waddell and this is where I am at now:-

Steering
Deadzone 5%
Saturation 100%
Linearity -3
Throttle
Deadzone 5%
Saturation 100%
Brake
Deadzone 10%
Saturation 100%

The steering now feels much better, that linearity change of just 1 step seems to have eradicated the inaccurate zig-zaggy feel I had in the open wheelers. The throttle still has some issues in certain cars (the Lola in particular) but I will test it out with some longer runs tonight hopefully.

@Chris Hempsall I picked up that Honda that you have taken too for the Endurance Tier 2 races. Found it a real blast to drive, so much power although with no tuning available for it yet I was maxing out around halfway down the straights lol . Didn’t have too many problems with it in terms of handling (just an inability to avoid the turn 4 wall on the exit of Indy lol) so really looking forward to those races when they come around.

Thursdays will definitely exclude Railer, and probably Karl and the new guy, but I threw it in there just in case it was popular enough to consider a hybrid schedule, kind of like we were trying to do in the Classics.
Thats fair enough Robert. You just have to go with whatever the majority want to make sure that the grid numbers are miximised. I thought Saturday would probably be the day most would select anyway, it's just not a day that I can make with any regularity.

I think another key to the above, although it may not seem obvious, is that the Force Feedback affects the wheel settings, and going from:

Environ: 50%
Wheel resist: 100%
Weight: 50%

To:

Environ: 100%
Wheel resist: 100%
Weight: 30% (or to your preference)

Helps out the steering too. Less weight counteracts the steering deadzone, as does the increase in linearity. And the environmental effects are heightened since they are very low in this game for some reason, so you get a better sensation for the road.
