You race for your RaceNet Club whenever you wear your Club livery in a multiplayer race. You can only apply that livery to cars you own - so you will only be racing for your club in your own vehicles. If you're struggling to afford cars, I'd recommend starting with open wheel (surprisingly cheap) or Cat A touring cars (cheaper than Cat B or C)

I'm not sure what his definition of "cheap" is, but apparently $1 = one hour of gameplay.

I wasn't/am still not expecting much.I never do with "Grid" titles which is why i never pay full price for them (steam sales FTW), however for G:AS a fellow RD member linked to a cheap deal and i bought GAS new for £17, so its much cheaper than full price so wont be too bothered if its not all that great, plus RD mods :D.

Fun times (i hope)

Ok, I liked and I think Its a good game. I use to separate the "things";

First, It's a game before a simulator, YOU are suppose to have a fun moment at you wheel. Ok, to be better we can "simulate" it.

Second, I can race at many tracks and cars. Even its no so realistic, the graphics are nice.

Third, if I wanna race at a REAL simulator, GSCE, AC or NR2k3 are the option.

I know the game have some glitches.

In game:
Go to vibration
Vibration strength on 40%, anything above it just gave me to much rattling.
Wheel strength on 80%
Wheel weight on 30%
Thank you. I used your profiler and in-game settings as a base, and I ended up with 70%/60%/30%.

I drove the open wheel cars fine with 540 deg. Seemed ok enough to not have to change it back and forth. And I don't use my shifter knob, so I can use those on-the-fly settings.

K, first off all the physics are abysmal and it feels like scalectrix cars..
I could get passed that, but for the rubber band ai, is there anyway to turn this off ? the whole pack of 16 cars stays within 10 seconds of each other the entire race, in qualifying there is 2,5 seconds difference between nr 1 and nr 16, all of a sudden in race everybody has a fastest laptime within 0,3 seconds of each other ???
this pretty much kills all the fun, can you disable it ? apart from that the ai crashes into you like maniacs...
will there be a mod or anything that fixes this, i think i am gonna ask for a refund, this game is a disgrace like this!

Await mods, and leave feedback on the RD/steam/codies forum.Perhaps they will tweak via patches if the community feels much needs changing and the discussions are going in the same direction. I for one am shocked that i cant adjust controller settings (linearity, deadzones etc) the advanced option inst where i expect it to be (in controller settings).

Have they completely forgotten to include it?

is linearity, deadzone and all those settings missing again for pad users? I don't like playing noob games like this with wheel, too lazt and it's just not needed, i use pad. Without linearty setting tweaks etc, pad uses can't compete with the top wheel guys, fact. They in there when you plugin a pad or not? i can't see them so far :(

Have to disagree that pad users can't compete with top wheel users as we have a couple of incredibly quick pad users in our Xbox league and our 2011 Champion who was super quick did it on a pad too :O_o:. I've no idea how they do it as I can't go in a straight line on one lol

Do you mean GRID 1? GRID 1 had the settings I'm speaking of, hence why I'm annoyed they are missing here.

Of course, you can be very, very fast without tweaks, but i am not just talking about being competitively fast, but literally as fast as the engine allowed you to do a lap under any circumstance. I'd need these settings in the game like they show when i plug in my T500, or i know from my short testing that i won't be able to compete with the fastest PC wheel guys like i did in GRID1. I mean, i'm speaking of Touring mainly, and guys like 28ace82, gledson, vazda, flowa, etc. These guys were legendarily quick and i bet other PC GRID players will remember these names and how god-like they were for fast times.

as i suspected, your settings were not very good on the PC version, almost impossible to turn the wheel at times, so i'll have a play around later today and see what i can come up with :)

oh and another important factor i guess is that I'm running Firmware 756 on the wheel

I agree its a fun arcade racer and if you go into it expecting that you will probably enjoy it. I never played Grid 1 or 2 as I normally avoid arcade racers in favour of GTR2, RACE07, and the next gen sim racers but I was pleasantly surprised by this game.

I'm using a T500RS with all aids off and difficulty on full and its enjoyable.

The initial career race with the Audi showed that simulation physics isn't what your getting, the cars feel a bit boat like in the corners certainly not what you'd expect but the 2nd race I did (street with FWD Golf) was good fun, the AI wasn't as aggressive as some people have suggested.

And to basically repeat what angelooliveira said if you want full on simulation, with high detail cockpits then GSCE, Assetto Corsa, RF2 etc are what you want. If you want a bit of fun then this is worth a try.

I'm struggling to find the right settings- IN GAME - for the brake pedal, it's difficult due to the loadcell, and not being able to press fully down. And it only works best when you press the brake pedal fully down, atm it only goes about 75%, and i'm not sure what settings to change for the brake pedal to make 75% force 100% force. I may need to change the brake saturation, but im not sure. If anyone could help that would be grateful!

Thanks

As far as I can tell, no. But since there are no pits, there isn't much difference between running a qualifying session and running a 3 lap "race" before the first real race. We just have to spread out at start and be careful of the gaps. The game will automatically line you up in order for the next (real) race. It's actually more like real life that way...you could even have a simulated knockout qualifying with the ability to have 5 races in a row on line. Plus, it will give us extra game cash this way.
