ok, only 5 minutes of playtime 'at my friends', but my goodness what an abortion. don't have the HD pack downloaded yet but its not as if that would save this game.

if youre a simracer & hungry for something new...look anywhere else. sounds, visuals, feedback, all atrocious, even specs look pulled out of thin air to me, though its hard to tell for sure as there ARENT ANY (just bars rating various aspects that go from empty to full). this is NOT worth $30 much alone $50.

lol did you do that on accident or was it purposeful?????

@yusupov If "at my friends" house means you pirated the game you should really refrain from further commenting. There is nothing more ill-placed than people complaining over a product they haven't even purchased.

If it means something else, then ill apologize up front.

you didnt misinterpret & i do apologize, with the caveat that i didnt come here to bash the game but to give my honest first impressions, because i imagine a lot of people are in a similar boat as myself; satisfied with the content they have but itching as they wait on pCARS or AC/rf2/GSCE/content etc (ive never played any of the grid games but i like the f1 series). those people may be considering scratching that itch with this game, i was one of them & i'm personally glad i didn't. but message received & its fair enough, ill butt out.

Yusupov, don't "butt out" mate! These forums are not meant to be a morality show and your point of view is equally significant as that of somebody that dropped $50 on this game. On the contrary I might add. Not being short $50 for a few hours of gaming (that can prove quite disappointing) your opinion lacks the bias generated by our inherent bang per buck expectation.
In the shareware era tons of applications and indie games developers had to compete in making products that generated enough interest to be purchased. Furthermore, game publishers used to release demos that showed how confident they are in their product: if you don't like the demo, you lost only some hours worth of bandwidth; if you do like it then you dig in your pocket and buy it.
Having the opportunity to try a game before actually buying it is a convenience that many consumers forgot that ever existed. Big game studios like CM afford the flashy advertising and they start caring more about their pre-release marketing campaigns than the quality of the final product. A publisher confident in its product would have released a 5-10% game content as demo. Unfortunately, CM has no idea how well the game is going to fare. Yes, they got their day-1 gold release but otherwise they have no idea if the game is going to blow and hurt their future bottom line; hence, no demo.

Just to make it clear: please don't get me wrong, I do not condone pirating but testing the game like you did should not be chastised. Let's hope CM does better next time and they will gain your hard earned cash.

Great game, still really feels like codemaster games tho. Also the game plays fine without assists, I have no issues at all in any class driving without it. It just is a great simcade.

Cons are tho that the AI is to easy, also on very hard and no rear view mirrors :-(.

My only issue is that 5 minutes of playing is not enough to give a real opinion on any game. I've played plenty that I have thought were pants after an initial quick run out which then proved after more extensive time in the game to be very good. Equally I have thought a game really impressive after a similar short time at the wheel only to find that in reality they were awful once you got more time in to really test it out.

I would not base my decisions on a five minute viewpoint of anything... Just my opinion of course.

Some very opposing views on the AI in this game, some have said they are superb (and some videos I have seen refelct that viewpoint) while others feel they are overly aggressive and others still find them too easy. It's all down to your own ability at these games at the end of the day... one persons easy is anothers very competitive and vice-versa.

Looking forward to seeing how much of a challenge they are for me and will be disappointed if I have to race the hardest level right off the bat as I want some longevity in the AI racing so am hoping there are some good challenging races to be had .

Yeah just discovered that myself, actually extremely disappointing for a hardcore 3D Vision guy because I seriously cannot race without it anymore.

Especially since Codemasters crowed about this being 3D compatible right out of the box using the new beta Nvidia drivers.

They are an absolute joke and you can never believe any of their bull$hit unfortunately but you would think they had some pride in their releases when they make such a fuss.

Here is some thing else thats available for a logitech g25/g27 wheel
It is used in GSC for a quick change of wheel rotation
Here is something i found and thought it was very good i tested and it worked..

if you have your Logitech profiler set to 900 Deg and want to drive the karts
Normally i had to change to another profile and set the profiler to 240 deg for example..

well with this you can do it on the fly real easy..
just press the 2+1 button and the T to make you Logitech adjust itself to 240Deg it brilliant..
luv it..

tested on G25 and should work on G27
copied from here
thanks to OdeFinn for this:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

Personally haven't know it before.

Instructions later if people think at this is something what they want to know.

G27_UDG_mini.jpg

[1+2] + O = ~670°
[1+2] + S = ~450°
[1+2] + X = 900° Resets to default
[1+2] + T = ~240°

1 and 2 buttons goes down almost same time, I have used order 1-2 and then selection without any specific delay, then releasing selection key and also 1 and 2 buttons.
*After many tests can say at just hold 1+2 down and then select TSOX-mode which you want to use.
Have done it everywhere, on track, on menus, so doesn't matter where, only doing it after wheel calibration, 'coz calibration resets these modes.
If you keep small tension on wheel when switching to 0deadzone mode you feel small *klak* and movement of wheel.
After successful mode change you feel it when turning wheel toward lock, there will be a FFB-engine powered lock what you feel on chosen radius.

I have figured this out yesterday so not much testing yet, hopefully somebody have time to test this also on PC, 100% sure at it will have effect on PS3.
Hardware coded feature, works on PS3 and PC.

G25 confirmed also to work same as G27
Works also on DFGT (1=start 2=select) (some works, some not..weird)

If you like it please tell me it also, and if understanding better some of those modes please tell here it also and we'll update this post.
(c)OdeFinn (lol)

Swapping between the karts and V8 just got a whole lot easier

Works in all the sim's ive tried it with Good old Logitech. Never even knew this excisted:)

Hello, I was wondering if I could disable this awful? setting where when you turn the car while in high speeds(e.g formula A) it "centers" your car back a bit. I tried turning of the vibration and the other settings but didn't help...

I suppose they did it for realism, since when you are running in high speeds the car vibrates(goes left and right) but when you are trying to turn that shouldn't happen I guess?

They are fast, but too agressive. Crashing me many times in last corner. Qualy no problems to beat them, but they have have faster cars on straights. :D Tommorow is multi for EU soo see you soon :D
Sounds a bit like Nascar.... My order is showing as shipped on Tuesday so I have hopes that it could possibly arrive today :inlove: Mind you I am out for my anniversary tonight so still won't be able mto get on track with it

Here is what I use and the cars feel great. The IndyCar comes close to F1 (although, then again, why should it) and the Touring ad Street cars stay planted, with a heavy feel to them, each Discipline having a different personality to its handling. Sometimes, even, I can note differences across Tiers and within each Discipline. for instance, the Cat B open wheel car is less temperamental than the IndyCar, as you would expect.

I will note that I use ABS on the open wheel cars. This is highly suggested unless you have a brake pedal that is progressive, which are usually top shelf. I simply have the Fanatec CSR (non-elite), so they, like most pedal sets, react like a controller would, in many respects. Normally I hate assists wit a passion, but then I realized this "cheat" does nothing more than simulate the areo braking that is 30-60% of an open wheel car's braking power when you let off the throttle. So, it is real. If it were not there, you would lock up every time, and that's what these cars do. The other classes seem manageable, but if you are able to tune the brake bias, it helps much.

On wheel:
Sen: off (420 for ovals)
FF: 70 (90 for ovals)
Sho: 100
Dri: off
ABS: 60
Lin: 000 (010 for ovals)
dea: 000
Spr: 3
Dpr: 2

In Game Force Feedback:
Environ: 100%
Wheel resist: 100%
Weight: 90%

In Game Advanced Wheel:
Steering Deadz: 0
Steering Sat: 100%
Linearity: -1
Brake Deadz: 20%
Brake Sat: 100%
Accellerat Dead: 5%
Accelerat Sat: 100%
