Sounds like a great idea Robert, definitely more than happy to continue running more series in this game. We've had and are still having some great fun so why bring it to a halt

Love the idea of the ovals with tyre wear, they provided great races running flat out so will be a really interesting challenge with tyre wear thrown in as well :)

More specifically, I have tested the Bugatti and the McLaren in the Hypercar (Street) and the McLaren and the Mazda (Supercar) and the Aston and Dodge in the Supersport? (tuner) categories, at Brands and Yas against "very hard" A.I. With no tuning I was able to place #1 at Brands and about mid pack at Yas. And if I can get a smooth lap, anyone can. There are many other cars to choose from, but I personally found these to be the best. Very diverse selection.

I'd need Michael to do some testing at the ovals. The Mazda (Touring) is very fast, topping out at over 200 mph at Indy, but like you said Peter, when I tested tire wear, it was a whole 'nuther ballgame. The Mazda could hang in there with grip until the bitter end (which may explode your tires...in that case, we should be at Silverstone!) but the Ford GT40 -- no way. So, Maybe Michael has some suggestions for better cars, but I was thinking that they had to be very fast, and very stable. I'm pretty sure the Mazda 757B meets this requirement, but I'm not sure about the Ford, although it's a pleasure to drive. Don't even think of buying the Ford, it's 6,700,000. lol.

If you are up late night (even if plastered, since I've been there...lol) I'm going to try and steal a few laps at Yas, but be happy to level if you need. Good to have you back. I think you will enjoy the Xbow, even with no or minimal tuning. Few laps and you will be toward the front, I'm sure.

I think I own the Xbow. Twitchy little thing. The power/weight ratio is sick! It's like driving a speedboat.

Glad you made it Hemps and Peter. The next series, if we can agree on a day and time, will be right up your alley. 2 ovals, incl. the cars we tested (I can't find anything simultaneously Endurance, challenging, and fast as the Ford GT40) and the rest of the three classes include two McLarens in two different classes, One is the P1.
Hemps, I used to hate to drive McLarens. But Forza changed that. I fell in love with the P1. And it's the most well balanced super fast car in Autosport, I believe. But you will have plenty of other choices. Loaners only, F1 tracks, so minimize prep time.

Autosport Supercar League (ASC)
mclaren-p1-01-1.jpg
This league is designed to run on the Saturdays that the "Autosport Race of Champions" is not running and co-exist along side it to round out our Autosport experience. Yet have we to take the fastest cars and put them on the fastest tracks, including many F1 tracks, Ovals, and a Classic.

The ASC will consist of races with the same class and car type separated by one oval race for a total of seven races. The last race will be a double points race. The classes used are set out in the below schedule. This league will be *Loaner Car Only* and no upgrades will be permitted. In addition, no assists, including Auto Gears or anything other than cockpit view will be permitted. The idea is not to determine who is the best tuner or richest game dollar king, but to find the best driver, in cars that are very fast (some rival the highest classes of open wheel cars) and very equal.

All road course divisions have been picked because they offer at least two or three cars that are just as fast as the fastest A.I. on "Very Hard" right out of the box. No tuning, and familiar tracks. The oval races will have stability built in to the Prototype spec, but not the Sedan spec. This is to encourage different lines and braking points on an oval, so pedal to the metal racing will not be possible. All ovals machines are still very fast, approaching top speeds of 200mph+.

Races will all be 2X20 minutes and begin with a three lap qualifying session. The first race will be qualifying order, NOT according to time, but according to finishing order of the three lapper. The second race will start according to the finishing order of the first race. No bonus points will be given. The scoring system is as follows:
Points System
Points: 1-25; 2-18; 3-15; 4-12; 5-10; 6-8; 7-6; 8-4; 9-2; 10-1
(Each Race scores points)

ALL RACES WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN THIS THREAD, WHICH WILL SERVE AS A CATCH ALL FOR THIS SERIES.

Notice To: @Peter Hooper, @Railer Cantrell, @Matthew Booth, @Karl Fuss, @Wessel Slagter, @Chris Hempsall, @Balazs Floszmann @Michael Watts, @Dmitriy Ivanov

NOTE:
- The game will not allow pit stops
- Flashbacks WILL be allowed at each oval race (2) but not at other races.
- Damage will be “full”
- Collisions will be “on”
- Tuning will be "off" for all races and no personally owned cars may be used.

So come on and sign up and pass the time until the glut of new games arrives on the next gen systems.

Hi guys anyone having any suggestion-improvement about car behavior (hp, steering, grip, aero, etc)

I WILL ONLY EDIT AND SEND FOR 2 REASONS

1)more sim - real behavior (fix)
2)just for fun & no limits (crazy hp - speeds - grip etc)

u can send for example

audi r8 lms needs more torque 3500-5000rpm
or
grip is not enough in dallara formula 3

just define the exact problem clear and simple....and a ctf will be uploaded

Race #2. Mayhem at the start....Watts loses control of the rear, veers right and clips Boothy, who is up ahead and to the right and slightly off track...but neither probably saw it developing. Race over for Boothy and, for all practical purposes, me after I T-bone Boothy following the second hit. I'm not sure what we can do about these starts....:O_o: Thanks for waiting for me to recover after a nudge later in the lap Michael, but my goose was probably cooked by then. Still, I had fun driving around this gorgeous track.

I have amended your standings thread Robert, Chris finished 3rd and Michael 4th in that race.

Aplologies for lack of comms last night. Everyone's chat was very distorted so I could hardly hear what was going on most of the time. Think my internet was spazzing out for some reason as we had a problem donwloading a programme from Sky earlier too. Once I left the lobby I was immediately logged out of XBL and then was getting connection errors when I tried to get back on. It eventually signed me back in so hopefully just a one off problem.

Enjoyed last night for the most part, 1st race was fun Railer got past with a lap to go then left the door open at the end of the 2nd straight and if weren't going to get him there I never would.

2nd race.. got a bad start then battered by Hemps which broke my steering then got hit by Michael then Robert

I will see you in Chicago:thumbsup: cba with oval racing especially in cars that aren't suited to it

Thanks for the race last night fella’s. Wasn’t really up for it but glad I got to the flag in both races. All got a bit confusing at the start there.. couldn’t hear what was going on so was chasing down Michael before it became apparent others were not around any longer. Second attempt was weird with ghosts all around, wasn’t sure if it was a connection issue or that collisions had been turned off.

Finally got the race underway and led the first race briefly until Boothy got past me down the straight, held on for a couple of laps but then picked up a penalty at the end of the first straight (I think) and he was away. Never really got into a rhythm after that and first Railer was through and then Hemps caught me a few laps later and after holding him at bay for a couple of laps he managed to nudge past me in the section after the second long straight. I just completely lost focus after that and allowed Michael to close and gave up an easy pass around the outside on the exit of the second left-hander under the tunnel on the penultimate lap. A silly mistake around turn 2 allowed him to get away so just brought the car home.

Second race was a bit better. Kept to the inside and avoided the first turn incident (not sure what happened but think it’s on my recording) and followed closely behind Railer and Hemps. I could see they were having a barnstormer and thought if I kept somewhere close I might pick up the pieces if they came together. Kept within range for much of the race and closed to just over seconds of Hemps when I think he had a couple of last corner penalties but then a couple of laps later I had exactly the same thing on 2 laps and the gap opened up. I was putting in decent 2:09’s and getting faster but they just blew me away even after I got into the 2:08’s. Only afterwards did I see why… both on 2:06’s!!! Good going fella’s. No way I could match that so happy enough to pick up the third place.

Looks like a fun series, but I think i'll have to pass on it unfortunately... the off Satuday evenings when I am around are days that I use whatever time I can to get in a bit of practice for the following days F1 race. Without being able to get in any practice for these Supercar races I don't think they would be near as much fun as they could be for me.

I'll try to make the Oval races if possible as there are not many chances to run these online anywhere else.
