Ran a mach race offline this evening. I started last in the 8 lapper and was beat up by the AI, and damaged pretty good when the AI comes to almost a complete stop on the right hander before the Hotel. I managed a 5th place. 2nd race was much better and worked my up to the point but I couldn't get any seperation from "Dick" Scott even after besting my best lap with a 2:09.271. The car is pretty good, but it does seem like the rear tires are suffering from degredation, and my transmission really starts banging around after lap 12 or so.

I'm looking at about the same time as Michael. Thanks Michael and Railer who tuned me up to 100% and Peter for the first 1/2.
Bummer you can't get on again Peter. I'm sure a +40 on the gears would do wonders, but +50 is probably just as good.
After a few runs at Yas, Railer and I came to basically the same conclusion, except for brake bias. Diff full open, gears +40/+30, Suspension, full right or +80, and downforce at -100.
So, @Karl Fuss, the "ideal" setup is not really different from what you would get if you got just a little leveling. The only thing that really is unobtainable at this late date is gears, but with your car control, 0 is probably just fine, and may even be faster through the corners. If you are around Saturday night or Sunday (I have a race, but I'm sure another guy will be on early) then just say the word. You know the track. Get a few laps at Indy and you will have a blast...promise.

Damn it, now i can't make this race whether it's on saturday or sunday.... sister-in-laws birthday party tomorrow. 4pm onward.

That sucks Karl. If it were my brother in law....well...nevermind. lol. Life does have a way of getting in the way of important things. like virtual racing. Hope to see you soon old Champ.

Chris Hempsall/TheHemps.

I didnt realise i missed a race.

If you are up late night (even if plastered, since I've been there...lol) I'm going to try and steal a few laps at Yas, but be happy to level if you need. Good to have you back. I think you will enjoy the Xbow, even with no or minimal tuning. Few laps and you will be toward the front, I'm sure.

It's great fun it's like a drifting car just opposite lock til it goes the right way  Can I change my choice for things to a V8 Atom since would be hilarious. Pretty sure you came in one of my V8 Atom lobbies once and crashed a lot around Abu Dhabi :whistling:

Ahh yes, the fun of a controller. My P.O.S. Fanatec would snap and pop and generally lose FFB if I tried that. :roflmao:
Excuse me, the V8 Atom is the devil...the one you have for this race is his son and I'm pretty sure that if I was driving the devil in your lobby, I crashed a lot, even if they mapped my backyard and we raced it. :p

Hey, just to float something guys. I'm not sure if there will be a next GRID series, but I hope so. pCARS and F1 will definitely have everyone's attention at some point, but I've seem the next gen and it's good, but it doesn't come with a great bunch of guys like we have on here.

I was testing some cars that I've missed in previous test sessions, so I decided to ho Supercar/Hypercar, specifically in the Street class, and then one in the tuner class. Very fast cars, very much fun to drive. I did test them at Yas, and could put them into the middle of the pack on "Very Hard" A.I. qualifying. I think that speaks for itself given my ability here...lol.

But the shocking part was...they were all incredibly stable! So my thoughts veered toward a series that used mainly F1 courses (these machines would not fare so well in the sand dunes, I fear, as much as I hate to say it), since it would give us the added advantage of not having to learn a new track. And there would be no tuning to worry about since they are fast as hell right out of the box.

Also, to throw in a couple of ovals, I tested two endurance machines. The Ford GT40 at Autosport and the Mazda 767B? at Indy. I think an oval race (especially with the Ford, which is not advisable to run flat out) with tire wear would be very interesting.

Let me know what you all think. Thanks.
