I know after those races trying to control a grumpy steering wheel my hands were killing me. You wouldn't think it but I believe I used more energy on these ovals than I do on proper race courses.
Had fun during all the races but as Boothy said when you pull out to pass you lose all the draft. It was pretty much wait for someone in front of you to make a mistake so you could capitalise on it.
I know what you mean Railer, I had a death grip on that wheel trying to hold it down on the yellow line. I practiced for the race and told my self a million times not to take the corner high, and that's exactly what I did in race 3, pulling out to pass Boothy, I stalled when we got door to door. I should have just bailed and dropped in line, instead I think I put myself in the wall about 4 times. If not for Flashbacks I would have been toast. The Camaro was good if you could get out front and stay, but that thing was a wicked beast in traffic.

Apologies for delay last night, was a bit too wired when I got back from taking one of my daughters to get a bus home. Some scumbags tried to get my money as i was waiting at a cashpoint!!! To say I was a little aggrieved would be slightly understating it but suffice to say they didn't succeed.

Really enjoyed the racing last night, especially the first one. One mistake in each race cost me but that's the price of coming in blind for me, just didn't have the time to get in any practice at all. It was still fun though.

Once on your own it was pretty much impossible to stay up with cars racing together. Race 3 I was just adrift of the front 3 but could never close the gap and then once Michael and Robert got a draft going behind me they caught me up like I was standing still lol. Definitely needed the third car with us though to close up on the leaders and in trying to slow a bit to allow Robert to join us I made a mistake and that was that. It was still fun with me and Robert at the back trying to get ourselves back in touch though until that last lap when we got together on the back straight lol.

Here's the first of my videos from all three...

I had great fun working with you too Peter. Sorry to hear about those scum. Did you pull out your six shooter? If so did you video it? I got a concealed carry permit for a handgun and I think I've carried it (a .45 automatic) a total of 3 times. lol. And during those three times nobody tried to rob be dammit!!!
Seriously, glad you came out of it ok and with your cash. They play the same tricks over here. Ambush you at your car, etc.

That drafting was fun! I thought we could catch back up but the draft was designed just for passing and with equal cars, I felt the same as you...it was good to get a great start, but better to get away cleanly. I boffed it on the first lap of the first race. Right into the wall. lol. That was race over pretty much then. Second race, we had a pretty good draft going, and with a few more laps, we could have probably caught someone. I think it was that race we began to see them in the distance.

I don't think your "lack of practice" hurt you at all. I've seen you play NASCAR games. No fooling me. You are good at ovals...you just have to be a bit lucky with just six cars. Your lines were steady as a rock. The rest of the oval races, I'm hoping that you may have to brake a little (maybe not indycar, but not sure yet) because the turns are not banked as much. All in all, without you and Michael (and boothy at times) the races would have been very boring for me. But I had fun. Here is Race 1:

That was the founder of the Xbox F1 league, Dylan Hember driving that car  Great memories :)

The mirrors were actually not as good as the start of that video showed, you couldn't actually use them reliably as the cars had to be right on top of you to appear properly and had a very odd look too, hence why Dylan was using the look back instead. This years are far better but just a shame they are low res.

@Matthew Booth can you beleive that was the year we were team mates in the Williams, THREE years ago .. I actually came home fourth in that race.. ahh the nostalgia of it all :inlove: lol
