I think the grudge match between Chris and Railer has been set for this this Friday at 5pm U.S. Eastern. They have chosen the Chevy Cruze to run and requested a qualifying heat.
I would love to be there to tape it but unfortunately, I'll be working, so maybe Peter and someone else can jump in the race and tape both cars from T.V. cam. That way, those who miss it can watch it. I'm sure one of them can host. Should be a great race.

Yeah just seen that myself too. That's about 10pm over here isn't it? Doubt I'll be around for that either unfortunately.

Well, Michael got in to spectate and managed to record some of the race.

Was a great race. I qualified on pole but lost the lead on the first lap. Chased Railer till around lap 7 or 8 maybe 9 and he went wide in turn one and I made the pass on the inside in to turn 2. He drafted me down to the hairpin and got alongside in to the braking zone. I kept a defensive line on the inside and would have had absolutely no speed out of the turn so had to slow down a little extra on the apex to get Railer on the brakes ;) Sorry, bit of a naughty move but I knew I needed to keep that lead after working it up for so many laps.

Around lap 11 I went on to the gravel coming in to the stadium section, but Railer got a penalty at the same time so I got lucky there.

There were also 2 occasions where we both made a mess of the left/right before the right hander in to the stadium. First time I was behind, got alongside and Railer kept the inside line giving me no option but to slot in behind, and the second time around lap 12/13 exactly the same thing except it was me that made the mistake and had to keep the inside line.

Then coming in to the final 2 turns I made a real mess of the entry, went really wide and had to get off the throttle. Lucky Railer couldn't get a run on me to the line, I truly thought I'd messed it up on the last lap.

Great race.

This is so much like Railer described it to me last night. Almost to the letter. You both are great guys and great racers. It's an honor to have you both here. And thank you very much for the video Michael, that brought it all to life and, like you I suspect, I couldn't take my eyes off of it, and lost touch with the fact that it was actually not a real race, at times. It's even in *focus* all of the time unlike my videos. What a battle. For all its little faults, this game sure does get one, maybe only one (lol), crucial thing right. Looks good too.

Yeah I enjoyed watching the race. The presentation is very good. It looked fun as hell, I wish I had been able to run that race earlier in the year. Such a challenging track with two Professionals going at it. I think they even traded a little paint the hairpin.

Enjoyed Hemps details of the race, please allow me to share my view.
Here I am in a 1 on 1 fight to sort out the real champion, no co champion stuff here. Thanks to Michael Watts for videoing the race.
We meet up in Hockenheim in identical Chevy Cruzes, to include paint jobs, so at least we knew a RDX car would win it.
Got to qualy and not sure if I didn't try hard enough or if Hemps used DRS, man he was fast. Took pole by almost 8 tenths on me. Yeah I'm sure I had some sort of malfunction.
At this point I thought well this isn't working too well.
Start of the race and I slotted in right behind hemps to try and keep a draft. As we go thru turn 2 into the long left of turn 3 I am right behind him drafting. I get a good push from the draft and stay to the right side coming into the hairpin. I took the hairpin good and was able to put the power down maybe 1/2 second quicker than Hemps and got the lead.
We stayed nose to tail for 9 laps. Very close racing. On lap 4 we went too close into turn 1 and both got penalised, thank goodness cause if only 1 person got a time penalty the other car would have been gone.
I seemed to have lost some braking on lap 9 at turn 2 and went about 12 feet too far from the normal apex. This allowed Hemps to lead again.
I don't think I was as close to him at times but knew I had a few corners where I was maybe a hair quicker. I think it was around lap 12-13 Hemps went wide at the 2nd corner after the hairpin. I caught up with him and was no more than 3 tenths off him. We diced thru the next 2 corners and I saw Hemps go wide and knew he was going into the gravel. I steered a bit too far right thinking his car would shoot back out on track and we would both retire from a collision. So both of our mistakes didn't change anything.
The last 2 laps I was really trying to get on hemps's tail, but had lockup at hairpin and I think that is where it cost me the race.
I honestly never thought I would be fighting for a championship but glad it was against one of the best racers out there.
Congratulations to Hemps on a job well done and a deserving champion.
Next season I hope to do better but with the closeness of the racing it will be an exciting season.

Michael...

Not sure if you've solved this yet, but...

I am an HPP user and encountered the same problem...I think I have found a solution, which I hope work for you as well! A complete reinstall like ouvert suggested would also work, but you can fix it without doing that...

-Navigate to your main GA folder (Steam\steamapps\common\GRID Autosport) and Delete the following folders: imput, system, forcefeedback, as well as the two .exe files. (GRIDAutosport.exe, GRIDAutosport_avx.exe) I'm not sure which files actually does the trick, but it's one of them ;)

- Now (in Steam) right click on GridAutosport in you games library and select properties --> Local files --> Verify Integrity of Game Cache, which will redownload the missing (corrupted?) files. Re-launch the game and I think you'll find the HPP X-axis is working again :) If the game doesn't immediately recognize it when assigning the control, just keep the throttle pressed...or release and press again. It may lag like this in the menu, but it's fully responsive in game...
