One race - You guys pick the time.
Hockenheim Full GP
Cat C, Touring Cars -- Both must agree on same car.
15 laps
Random start
Will try to record both drivers from T.V. view.

(Note....this will not affect the new Autosport Schedule, which will likely be every weekend that F1 is not racing.)

Sorry for the late response, had a really busy day yesterday. Thanks for the races guys, love this track and didn't have too many issues in either race but just didn't have the pace to compete. Didn't get in the practice I should have as I didn't expect to be racing but not sure I would have made the 1:03’s even if I had so good job all of you.

I did record both races but was pretty much alone for them both so won't post them here.

Very happy to come home over the season in third behind two great racers even though it was mainly due to missing fewer races then others.

It's been a good first season with some excellent racing so looking forward to a slightly less compact schedule next after a break to get in some social stuff that I've put on the back burner over the previous weeks to keep competing.

Cheers.

I think you are going in whole hog on the F1 side, so? Just wondering since before you said you were likely going to go club racing or be a reserve. I'm not sure I could ever see that happening. The first race of the next season should be in two weeks time, with races every off F1 weekend. Hopefully that will give you some breathing room. And everyone else for that matter. Never thought I would say this, but Forza 5 is far and away my favorite game right now. Found a league that can't fix all its un-race-like-ness, but does as good a job I've seen to date. And with handling like I've never thought possible and graphics to boot, it sucks you in. I think Railer and Michael are skipping F1 2014, though, so hopefully they will come back for more GRID. Michael will be a serious threat with full participation.

But that doesn't mean I still don't love Autosport. Just with F1 being everyone's (well here anyway) obsession, and until the new consoles get acquired, I think a bye week is good strategy. I'll get the new forum up and running this week.

NOTE TO @Chris Hempsall -- your guys...is there a reason they can't join? Many people don't give their real names. I don't think I could score them if they aren't members, but be happy to have them come play. Tell them we don't bite.

This next series sounds almost like the ROC (Race of Champions) and IROC (International Race of Champions) where all vehicles are created the same. It comes down to driver ability. I'm ready for that if that is the rules.

Basically yes. Tunes will be allowed (except on ovals), but go try the cars we listed. They are entirely drivable right out of the box. Should not be much tuning, if any, needed. So, yes, it's like the old IROC (really a NASCAR deal) and the current ROC (really a euro deal), but sort of a combination of the two.

And besides that, I think we proved pretty clearly that practice, talent, and enjoyment of the game is much more important than tuning. Just for kicks though, I'm going to put up poll asking whether tuning should be banned for all races, just the ovals, or not at all. May influence the final regs if it's lopsided.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Co-Champions Chris Hempsall and Railer Cantrell
It was really a mystery when we started this league whether it would be able to sustain itself, but not only did it, but seemed to get stronger and stronger each race. Maybe it was because it was F1's off season, but whatever the reason, it was truly an experience beyond my wildest expectations, and all the credit is owed to you, the drivers, for making it happen. Through all the bugs, and through all the leveling up B.S., you did it.

Fittingly, the Championship came down to the last race, and ended in a tie. We have no rule breaking system, and will have a "race-off" but all that will be unofficial, since the "race-off" was not in the rulebook either. I thought it only fitting to give the Championship to both drivers, which is the only outcome that can be justified under the rules. What makes the two drivers' (Railer and Chris) titles even more amazing is that they both missed a significant amount of races. Chris has proved beyond a doubt that he can go head to head with the best sedan drivers on the 360. And Railer has proven that he might just be the best sedan driver on the 360 (although we have a couple waiting in the wings to challenge him) considering the amount of races he missed.

Third place finisher Peter Hooper won it by dedication, determination, work, and love for racing. It's hard not to honor that even over sheer talent. Furthermore, he believed in the vision of this league from the very start and is responsible for helping get it off the ground as co-director. Thank you, my friend.

And to all else who competed, you will have another chance if you chose to take it. A new league will start in two weeks and this time prizes will be offered. What's more, we think it will crown the most talented and diverse racer on the 360. It will also give you the result of that much anticipated "race-off."

Your Friend,
October

Probably, there is not enough interest in club races these days and although I am not keen on the same old calendar providing that it sticks to a fortnightly schedule and I can start my career races in line with it then I will stick with it, the new game is too much fun to not have a league running with it. The F1 stuff will not spill over to effect Autosport though, especially with the fortnightly schedule. That at least gives some freedom to get out of a Saturday night with the missus that the weekly schedule was severely hampering.

I never really expected Railer to pick up 2014 having missed most of the races in the second half of the season and Michael said he was not likely to. They should have some good races in whatever the new season brings to the table. I think the guys we have here from the F1 forum are the only ones that were likely to take part other than Chris B and Gavin, who I thought might get the itch for it but have had other things on the table to take their time… it’s pretty much the same crowd that used to take part in the Race Pro series minus a few that corssed platform to the PC.

Good to see that you've found something Forza that gives you what you were looking for. POint me in the direction of the web site so I can follow your progress. I would like to see any videos of the racing you get involved in there.

I wish I could show you the Forza videos in high quality, but I just record them on the hard drive, as Forza allows you to do. Then I can go back and watch from any car, from any viewpoint in that car, and share the video with the Forza community, as I can with my tunes. The site I play on is here: http://etcc.ridedomain.com/index.php. They are a bunch of Forza nuts, so I struggle to keep up (many of them post times in the top 100 or 1000 but you have to remember that's against millions of users vs. a few thousand in F1). I myself find my performance much better than Forza 4, probably due to the game being more of a SIM handling wise.

But here is a good video where you can kind of get the idea of how much different the physics are (although it's impossible to describe or show, but if you ask anyone who has experienced it, even Forza haters like me, will tell you they are very impressed) improved and how well you can feel the car, as he corrects some oversteer fairly regularly. I myself turn off all the crap on the screen but the lap counter because they dash on all of the cars is so incredibly detailed:

Glad to hear you are still into Autosport despite your love of F1 2014. It's good to have more than one game you can go to. For a while there, it was really just F1 2013 for me, although it had the classics and I loved that game better than any of the other F1 titles.

Railer missed most of the second half because of family and medical issues I believe. He is probably the most dedicated and reliable racer online that I know of (along with you), but, like you, has a full family life, plus had the added medical burden. And as you can tell from Autosport, when he really bears down on a car and a track, he is a force to be reckoned with. I'm not sure, but my guess is that he is not buying F1 2014 for the same reasons many don't -- it's poor quality, but also I think he may be getting next gen before the F1 2015 title gets here and figures F1 2014 would be just a waste of money since there is Autosport and Forza 4, which I think he still plays a lot. He loves to paint.

If there are some 25% or 50% club races on F1 2014 I may have a go, but I just can't bear playing it too long due to my well outlined feelings for it. Some of my frustrations with the last race were due to the aggressive driving and knocks I took, but for much of the time, I think, the car's bad handling model was further amplified over a 100% race, or even 50%.

I was thinking about picking up 2014, but I'm only considering Career possibly. I would be a Marussia backmarker in any kind of F1 league without proper practice LoL

I got it and regret buying it. Worse than GRID2, in different ways, to me. But others disagree, as usual. If you are thinking next gen before F1 2015 comes out, I'd hold off, unless you are a big F1 fan. Have you tried Race Pro? Or Shift 2? Those were some of the best games on the 360, from my view. Railer will back me up on this, and Race Pro was voted the best 360 game by this website. Not much multiplayer on it and the graphics are not very good, but the physics are sublime. And plenty of tin tops and GT cars too.

I will wait until I get Xbox one to get F1.
I enjoy the Grid and Forza 4, but I know I'm missing out on a lot of great racing on X1 with F5.
Thanks Robert your too kind on your words. I'm just a driver who enjoys it. If I could afford it in real life I would be racing Porsche's.

I know this problem too. Go to graphic settings and there make two steps:

Toggle VSYNC
Toggle VSYNC once more (to get your old setting)

Then, Grid Autosport is in 60Hz. The same works with Grid 2, Dirt 3 and Dirt Showdown.

No problem with Codemaster-titles like F1 2012, 2013 or 2014. There all works fine out of the box.

To be honest with you Michael you can only judge a game by trying it yourself as everyone has different opinions on it (as with all games). Mine are the complete opposite of Roberts which is quite strange seeing as we tend to agree on most other things. What I would say is that if you are heavy on the throttle then it is a game that you may struggle with. Throttle control is incredibly important in the new version and you kill your tyres very quickly if you fail to be mindful of that. The setups have a bigger effect this year even though we no longer have the ability to adjust gears each race. For example in a practice session At COTA this morning I experimented with a couple of adjustments which found me a few tenths in the first and second sector but then lost them all and a bit more in the tricky sector three.

For me it’s the best version of the game that we have had and I have played them all to death over the past 4 years. Handling wise the game has a nice feel to it, it’s less planted than previous years so there’s a bit more challenge to it and the tyres require a bit more care this year and can cost you lumps of time if you mismanage them even for just a short while.

The career mode of the game tends to be the more difficult due to the cars starting off with no updates so it can be tough in those early season races as you wait for the developments to find their way onto the car.

As Robert has rightly said if you are going nextgen soon and money is an issue then ‘maybe’ waiting for 2015 version would be a good idea but for me it’s a no brainer, with around 6 months to wait until then that’s plenty enough time to get more than your money’s worth out of 2014.

One other thing I would say is that several of the F1 guys that have raced all the previous versions have found that it requires some adjusting to so if you do get it give it plenty of time and don't expect to jump straight in and be quick

Race Pro is without doubt an immense amount fun and it's a shame that more prople never got involved with it.. a bit like Grid Autosport in that respect. Maybe we should look at resurrecting it every now and then, maybe a once a month series of club races or something just to be nostalgic  :inlove:

Before you do anything, I'd go read the reviews on this game, F1 2014. They are pretty far and away the worst of any F1 title, as a compilation. Also, next gen gamers and PC gamers have simply ignored it. They know a "plant" when they see it. I've driven hundreds of cars that require a delicate throttle, but these things in F1 2014 are beyond absurd. They probably can be wrestled under control by an experienced gamer who really wants to love F1. That's not me, though.

Also take a look at the Codeis forums themselves. Penty of bashing there. And people like Matt York
have abandoned F1 by CM because of this title, and other things, when their very You Tube site was built around F1. Pretty shocking, if you ask me, but understandable. I personally think that Codemasters does just enough to get by every year, except maybe for 2013, and thus their games do not evolve. Also, there is plenty of negative bashing on other sites regarding the issues I discussed.

Bottom line -- I'd rent it. Don't want to be stuck with a useless $50 piece of plastic like I am.
