Chris Hempsall said to include the cup guys in the champ standings.
its was discussed beforehand in the stewards thread about not including the champ guys in the cup standings and I thought it was clear that the champ drivers (who classified as champ drivers at the beginning of the season because they were faster) would not be taking points away from the cup drivers.[/quote]
Thats fair enough then, my view was that was referring to now and again drivers rather than Mark who wants to race here full time.

Peter why not host the next few races! you have a good connection, the host never gets kicked its worth ago:)
Cheers Gav, unfortunately I think it might be a bit risky to be honest. As we have no idea why I am getting discoed I can't rule out the possibility of a problem my end and it would not really be fair to have others suffer as a result of that. Plus I generally just jump on accept your invite and then leave it until we go to the quali as I invariably have things going on at that time (trying to usher people out the door for instance ) especially with the early starts.

Both you and Nick have good connections but the signals in the lobby were still nowhere near as strong as we were getting two races ago. I just think something has changed, I have had a couple of XBL updates recently and the deterioration has defintely been since then. Wondering whether some update to improve the gaming for the XBO has had a adverse effect on the rest of us.

You seem to really like these cars. Do you want a permanent seat here? You would be paired with Ben and know your car assignment for every race on the calendar, which goes into September.

We basically alternate Sundays with the Cup league and start a few minutes after Champ ends, although some weekends, I think, we are the only game in town. Regardless, it's the most FUN racing in town and a super great group of guys.

yeah count me in, i prefere 90's but i can go 80's :)

edit; I've just fully read the car mixing and maxing stuff. looking forward to it

So good to have you. Be sure to read through the posts on how these cars are considerably different than the modern counterparts, both in how they handle, how they should be set up, and how wear /fuel rates differ. The turbo lag is the first thing I noticed, but then found it actually helped my driving style.

If you can at all manage no assists, that's what the league was based on, but I'm sure we could add auto gears until you get comfortable (@Carlos Jimenez hear that?). Also, the original intent was to run no HUD...and quite frankly, that's the purest way to enjoy these cars...but most of us have found we need one or two things on screen for safety and realism (except for Gavin, who just chucks them all on, like a FOX NFL football broadcast :D).

last couple of nights I've been running round in time trial without assists and Ive been doing already :) haven't even given thought to fuel/wear. have my daughter tonight but will give it a look tomorrow

Hints: Ignore your engineer...tires last much longer than game thinks or modern car equivalents; and also fuel can be used more aggressively. Setups are very different, but in specific areas, such as gears. These babies have so much power, they have to glide more, instead of dart around like waterbugs. They are beasts if you are too aggressive on the loud pedal.

Also, forget wing damage...it does not happen. But flat tires do instead, if you hit hard enough. If you can beat the A.I. on "Legend" at any given track, you will be competitive, although there are some top notch drivers in this league.

this setup thing is a concern, hopefully in the set up sections they got a classic section :) i find i glide more in the 80's then 90's the grip and power is great, make striving the 2013 feel awful

Yea, I still maintain Codemasters used different coding or physics engines to model these classic cars. The feel much closer to what I have experienced in real cars (not that I have been in one or anything), and while they are less forgiving, they are more enjoyable if you get it right (in the groove).

Looking forward to this one now after last nights disaster.... @Robert Waddell now Daniels signed up for the race it needs to be decided on what car he takes so he can get some practice in  If @Chris Benham is now back in the fold with the change of race times that leaves me as the only one without a team mate as it looks as though Gareth is out as far as I know.

I thought Gareth was undecided. If he's definitely out, I think you would be paired with the next signee, which would be Ben, no? Daniel would then have to wait for another person to sign, if that happens. Also, don't know if Chris is coming back, but hope so. If not, you and Gavin could make a pair and we would have four complete teams, with Ben and Daniel making up their own.
