Race Report
Monaco had it all this season: Dramatic Wet quali, Re start, Favourites out of position on the grid, damage, penalties and retirements. Read on!
Qualifying
We had a decent wet setup from practice so headed into the storm. Grip levels were improving and we had fuel to keep running as the times dropped. Crossed the line with 8 sec left for the final hot lap and had a close encounter in the tunnel at about 220kph with a car on a slow down lap. I think we were both surprised I squeezed through. This lap was aborted so my second to last lap had to stand. It did until Jack completed a great lap in the last seconds grabbing pole by .110 sec.
Early Laps
Had a pretty poor sector 3 on the opening lap and it must have been amusing for Dylan and Jono behind me as I did an impersonation of Kobyashi with 3 Armco contacts in one lap. Dylan neatly drove around me after I went off course at Rascasse, I think Jono did too I can’t be sure as was seeing more advertising hoardings than track at this point. I then ran wide in P4 at St Devote resulting in damaged front wing and definitely the worst opening laps ever. It wasn’t yet over- I cut it too fine at Portier and spun into the wall B4 the tunnel and heard Matt in No Scope pass behind me, I was now P5. The car was handling sort of OK with the damaged wing and I decided to carry on. I was gaining on No Scope when I came around casino around lap 6 and saw bits of Renault scattered around. The Renault was in the runoff area at Mirabeau and I was back in P4.
The Rest
Pretty much raced around on my own then for 22 laps in P4 watching the gap to P1 and trying to keep a rythm . Suddenly on about lap 27 I was in P3, (not sure what happened to Dylan) and pitted for Options and a new wing at lap 28. My goal for the race was 4th and I returned to the track still in P3! (edit, it was a bug and I was in P4) on fresh options and a complete front wing and feeling a bit elated and ready for the run to the flag.
However next time around on pit straight Xbox live decided to beam me up to the mother ship and disconnected me. Mixed feelings. Happy with Quali performance and mix of bad and good luck in the race.

Im very sorry for that push Stefan. I sent u msg about it after race buddy. I didnt see if you went of the track but i slowed down after corner and impulsiveplayer passed me. i thought it was you as i wanted to give position back after that attack on first corner

Qualifying –I went out early straight on options to try get a good early time in, managed 1,18.X. went out again for a run but hit traffic and again on my third run but my first time was good enough for 4th

Race -
Feeling reasonably confident with my time I thought id jus try stay on track for the first lap or so. I got a good start off the line and managed to pick up 3 rd for a moment before madmax took me on the inside into san devote, I picked my braking point well but was hit from behind whilst avoiding madmax causing me too spin, we were hit again spinning me back the right way around and somehow damage free, I was now down in 6 th or 7 th . I had r petressi or hammerpgh and gagsy close behind and was spun by gagsy going into the hairpin, Pet or Ham took off as I got turned around, I had damage too my front wing. Had a good fight with the cars around me, managed to pass a few and get into some clean air, put some good times in but then hit a wall losing my front wing and getting a puncture. Limped the car round too the pits, put more options on the car, I was chasing hammergph after this and started to catch him, I passed him but then ran deep and he took the place back then I had another accident on the exit to the chicane out of the tunnel, chose options again as it was still early in the race, times where ok keeping up with hammer until he had a big accident and I took 5 th , kept the times good following madmax who had a spin at casino square, I didn’t hear a call and hit him side on, on the racing line, I lost my nose again. Pitted for primes but satruggled for pace max was 25s infront, tried to be consistent and got the gap down. I passed max after he had an accident I think I the tunnel, I was then chasing petressi and after the final pit stops it was showing I was in third after I thought id passed him after a bump, I was showing infront by around 30s so slowed down and jus drove for a podium, I was lapped and then finished still showing third then it dropped me too 4 th , no penalties etc, was confused about that but was happy to finish after seeing how many who didnt, tough tough introduction too racing with RD really enjoyed it!

Not to worry tho - i plan to get a wheel in a few weeks when i move house and then should be able to practice without TC using pedals (that's my plan anyway).

itll take along time for that, i still havent removed the TC and ive had a wheel since February/march then again im lazy lool

onus is on Stefan for this one imo, he did cross the white pitlane exit line, and quite abrubtly at that so I doubt anyone would've been able to avoid that contact coming at full speed from the main straight

hahaha ther wa bits of wing and scrubbed option flying everywhere, certainly was action packed, no worries mat anno a saw u waited apperciated it mate, hammer was off tho lol (he obviously didnt have too wait) jus tried too catch him great fun like. im sure i was chasing max after lap 29, not sure wat lap it was tho

That's why I don't have any hard feelings Watched it myself, but at that moment wasn't that happy though.. In the heat of the moment so to speak. ... Anyway, there was contact.
