Hmm, 2:16 huh? Last time I managed to get on-track I was lucky to manage a 2:19, but I was experiencing quite a bit of high-speed understeer, so hopefully I can improve my times by reducing rear downforce and/or adjusting the car's rake...

Sorry I missed Wednesday guys, this week's been another crazy one and I've hardly been near the home computer...had hoped to do a fair chunk of prep for this round but the clock is ticking and I'm not there yet :snail:

In practice, i got down to 1:21 with a decent fuel in about 12 laps.
And that's with a decent setup.

I'm really not sure where the 5-6 seconds are gonna come from.:turtle:

I've been around 2.18.6 with a full tank of fuel, but I think that is about my level. I'm not practicing too much for this one, usually my luck is inverserly proportional to my practice time. Monza followed that pattern, so I'll make do with my current times and try to finish.

Guys, Gunthar is officially out of the challenge. We may (will) need a reserve for the Nurb round...

I notice that we have a couple of Oceanic floaters around, anyone up for a ride?

Not likely. The lister paint job looks good. And i'm guessing the cost to replace a destroyed lister is cheaper than a Konie.

I will schedule a practice session tonight with both cars just to be sure the missing seconds aren't lying under the bonnet of the Konie. But as it stands i will keep the Lister.

Andrew, I have emailed you a setup and replay file for the Konigsegg, in case it is of any help. It is based on a full fuel tank but felt ok to me. I did a 2.19.6 but that was with only a few laps practice, the replay is not too smooth driving, but the car felt quite stable to me. Maybe raise the ride height a touch, the replay shows it hitting bottom a tad too much through Eau Rouge.

Maybe it gives you some ideas for the Lister too.

Good news....just tested my comps capabilities against 23 AI cars at the Ring and I was able to run without problem....so as long as work doesnt get in the way I should be available to race next week. Will have a definite answer on Sunday.

Grrrrrrrrrrr! Grrr!

Everything was uneventful for me until my only scheduled pitstop (apart from missing a braking point while choking on coffee around lap 13), but then the pitstop took longer than it should have because in Evo 130L of fuel means 130L+whatever is in the tank, as opposed to GTR2's approach that I'm used to. So for the second stint the car had 160L of fuel and handled like a barge...still, I was closing down on 13th when the game developed an awful stutter, where the frame-rate would suddenly drop to about 1-2fps for a few seconds...backed right off to give myself a chance to control the car through that pain, and kept waiting to get DC'ed, but instead the stutter eventually put me in the wall...limped back to the pits and stupidly fixed the aero damage but not the puncture, so I limped back around for another try, hoping to still beat Rhys who I still had a lap or two lead over...except the second time I was so busy fiddling with the pit menus to make sure I fixed the tire (and didn't replace it with a wet) that I drove into some obstacle in the pits and killed my car, less than 10 minutes from the end. Of course if autopilot wasn't shagged on this track it never would have happened. Did I mention Grrrrrr?

Anyhow, at least I managed to take part this time, and I'm glad we had a rolling start or else I'm sure there'd have been carnage with or without lag. Thanks to Tyson for organising it and thanks to everyone for taking part :)

Good to hear Richard, RD could use another alien to back Jari up!

Qualified and finished in 2nd place. Had too little fuel at the start of the race so had to pit just before the half distance. Other top 3 guys drove about 4-5 laps futher than I did so they have better tires than me in the later half of the race. Wrong pit strategy didnt really matter because I would have not won anyhow.

peace

Some better luck for Racedepartment at Spa, but still many of our team are unlucky.
Things were not looking too good after the practice starts, with more massive lag problems, but the parade lap rolling start seemed to work well in the end.

Congratulations to Jari for second place, a great finish. What a great result against some very fast competition. :handshake: :aus:

Unfortunately, the rest of us couldn't give you more support. Michael was running well but was again disconnected mid race.
I managed to complete the race this time, but was getting very tired towards the end, and so were my tyres. Finally finished P9 but spun off and hit a wall twice in the last 5 laps.
Good to see most of us on TS, it helped a lot while all the discussions were taking place about how to sort out the lag problems.

Thanks to all of our team for racing, hope you had some fun.

Well what can i say.
I had a great time and then one bad decision destroyed my weekend.

I was on the pace (with a 150L of fuel i managed a 1:21.3 in race and wasn't really pushing. Seems the lister likes the added weight. The car was hooked up great and was easy to drive and i was settling in. Having passed Rhys on lap 5 i was conscious that he had out qualified me and was likely faster so when i made a couple of mistakes on lap 6 i felt he was right on my hammer and when (I thought) he had the run on me down the back straight i sayed wide through the double fast right handers. The car just understeered straight into a wall at 240Kmh. I blew the tyre and damaged the car but the car wouldn't go forward or reverse in any practical way. After 3 mins of trying to get the car moving my engine overheated and blew.

Rookie mistake and boy was i taught a lesson!! :tits:
