If there are 3 teams of 8 drivers allowed....why did we have 9 drivers lined up for the Monza race?

Not sure Richard, that may have been a mistake on my part. I just assumed there was to be one driver per car and didn't realise that there were 9 cars and therefore 27 slots wasn't possible. The problem could have been compounded if Gunthar had turned up, so I think I'd better take the blame for getting that part wrong. Sorry guys.
Despite this, you should still not have been locked out, the guys are still trying to understand what happened, because the spectator wasn't there for the whole time. Seems weird but there seems to be a few weird things happen with GTRE this weekend.

I'll make sure you get to drive the last round. :good:

Anyone keen to get on track this week for a test session? I'm keen on Wednesday or Thursday...

Hi guys.
Very sorry that you couldn't get into the room Richard i belive there were 2 spectators in the room 1 i knew about and another i didnt PW will be pmd to all racers to stop this from happening again.
We are also looking into the LAG issue and will have it sorted for the next race.
Thanks to you all for turning up and being calm after a shocking lag issue during lap1.

Ahh! That solves the mystery Tyson. I had been wondering if that was the problem, but unfortunately the game doesn't show spectators (at least I don't think it does), so nobody would really know.

Thanks for looking into this Tyson, we all appreciate the effort you're going to to make this happen. Some teething troubles are to be expected with a new setup like this, but it's a great concept so I hope we can make a go of it.

If we have lag problems like that again on lap 1, would you consider a restart? I'm not sure what the convention is in that regard, but it sounds like it set a few people back quite badly (of course I didn't manage to make it that far since the game killed me off 20 seconds earlier :p). I guess it then becomes a question of where you draw the line once you start down that path...

Looking forward to a smoother run this Saturday, although I don't expect to have quite the pace you and a couple of others have shown :wilt:

OK thanks Tyson, it wasn't your fault. I don't think I would've got through the lag issues unscathed anyway...and I probably would've got a stop/go for cutting (not deliberately of course)

I will be available but i don't want to take anyone's place. Given recent warm up races, I'm not on the pace in the GT Pros for some reason and i suspect SPA will excentuate this.

Anyway I'm keen to get on and practice mid week (about 8pm), so i can get skinpack and track downloaded and setup in case i'm needed.

So happy to stand aside if there are 9 drivers.

Lol, I think Rhys was up to about 4/5 and I was on 3/4, one of which was achieved whilst entering the first chicane sideways...

Haha, nice work guys ... I had taught myself not to be too aggressive with my lines, but had I been able to join in on the fun I'm sure I'd have ended up cutting one of the chicanes due to loss of control at least once too :)

All the best plans can go astray. I managed one cut track warning in my only 4 laps of the race. At the last chicane, another car re-entered the track in front of me, so I veered left on exit to miss him, scoring a cut track warning for my troubles. :mad-tongue:

So I'm sure it would have taken a lot of luck to avoid the odd Stop n Go. :)

You are in, so start practicing. Based on Round 1, you need patience, perserverence, and loads of luck (a scarce commodity for most of us at Monza) in this series. Hop in, and just try to have fun.

BTW, Your Lister is still in pristine condition, Richard unfortunately didn't get to turn the engine over at Monza.

You forgot to mention Teamspeak, a singing voice, tissues for the tears of laughter and perhaps the ability to mute individuals who can't keep up with the singing or get a little hot under the collar (Rhys was blushing for about 6 laps...)
