Team Australia in RDNGP: Gauging interest

This thread is just for gauging interest, as the title says. Anyway... after competing in RDNGP last season and being dismayed at the fact that Team Australia had dwindled down to just myself and Jamie Mac (Richard Hamstead had work commitents), I thought it would be a good idea to see if there was interest in Australia being a part of this league.

So what do the Oceania members think?

The cars are FBMW ( at least that was last time), but the timing was the biggest problem previously (I think). It was held in the wee hours of Saturday morning for Aussies/Kiwi's.

Yeah I think it was 9 or 10am NZ time perviously, so even earlier for you guys over the ditch. I'd put my hand up, but I do a lousy ocka accent (strictly fush and chups sorry) so I'll be keen to form a Team Kiwi instead if anyone from NZ is interested, not that there are very many of us on RD these days :mad-tongue:

But seriously, awesome paint jobs Jarrod. The Aston and the Lister are just perfect.:star:

You didn't mention the Gumpert, does that mean you didn't like it? I thought I looked quite dashing in it, but maybe it made my bum look big or something? :wilt:

Actually your bum does look a bit big, but that has nothing to do with the dapper paint job. :poke:

All of the skins look great, but it's a pity Michael keeps having problems getting the server to accept his Corvette C6.

Jarrod, do you have any idea why someone would keep getting the message about invalid car with the skin pack but the default skins load ok?? At Spa, Michael could initially get in ok with the skin, but then later it wouldn't allow it. He had the same problem at Monza.

Chris, the Australia Team was actually a Oceania team, so open to Kiwi's as well. There is also a NZ skin in the pack, which was used I believe if a Kiwi drove for us, but that also means there is scope for a separate NZ Team as well.

This season we will not drive FBMW (almost sure) and if an aussie team can commit a whole season and they can guarantee that up front we should adjust the time a little, so you can race while being awake :good:

Yep, Bram you can let the secret out. We will be racing these this year!! :)

I got a PM from Ross Balfour about season 1, as he was looking for NZers to take part, and I tried but failed to recruit guys for a team. Never occurred to me that I could be an honorary Aussie/Oceanian though - if that offer is open then then I'd definitely be keen, I'm sure you guys see NZ as this queer offshore part of your country like Tasmania anyway ;)

Before I commit though, these Soap Box racers will be racing on downhill tracks only though right, I don't have to pedal or push or anything? I hate exercise :struggle:

The problem is a very strange one. With the skinpack installed I can go into the single player and when viewing the skins they all load up fine. But when I go into multiplayer, as soon as it tries to load up the custom skins to view them the game crashes to desktop. Weird.

And as Warren said. I never got it to work in the first race. I clean installed the skinpack for the second round and it worked fine when I first went into the race but, when we left and tried to go back in, it started crashing again. I tried clean installing them again but couldn't get it to work.

BTW Warren. It not just the vette. It's any of the skinpack skins. It's not a huge deal, but it would be nice to be able to see the guys in team colours. Now I just have to figure out why the game keeps crashing during the races. Grrrrrr.

Oceania Inter-Club Challenge - Nurburgring

Please note, the final round of the OECC @ Nurburgring has been postponed due to the Easter break. The planned date is now Saturday 18th April.

Racedepartment's Team for Nurburgring:

-Aston Martin DBR9 - Cam Wedgwood Confirmed
-Audi R8 GT Concept - Olaf.j Linortner Absent
-Corvette C5 R - Rhys Gardiner Confirmed
-Corvette C6 R - Michael Stead ???
-Dodge Viper GTS/R - Warren Dawes ???
-Gumpert Apollo GT - Chris Rodgers Confirmed
-Lister Storm - Andrew Dawes Confirmed
-Saleen S7-R - Jari Vinnari ???

I'll update this post as each driver confirms.

Reserve driver: Richard Hamstead ???

I also had problem with custom skins in online races. If I tried to use custom skins in online races GTR:E would crash. Starting the game with STCC add-on cured my crashing problem.
Now I have fresh install of GTR:E+STCC and everyhing is working as it should.

peace
Jari

We will be testing the server over the holidays. it will be sett to GT pro at Nurburgring with long practice sessions and a short race, Nurburg GP will be in the rotation so the weather can change each session. Room will be public during the day and private some time in the evening PW: OECC

We have made some more changes to the server so if you are on and see any issues please type in the chat so server can read.

Thanks
Tyson

Just a side note: I will most probably re-issue the poll as more details come out, most likely closer to the start of the season. :)

Oh, and judging from the RDNGP discussion thread, there's a chance they will be using Formula Masters, coming soon in Race On, though it can cahnge.
