Good to see most of us on TS, it helped a lot while all the discussions were taking place about how to sort out the lag problems.

Well done to the guys who made it to the end. Sorry I didn't make it onto TeamSpeak, that was another thing I planned to do but didn't get done this week :p Although you might not have wanted to hear my thoughts in the final 10 minutes of the race when the lag/stutter from hell kicked in and the wheels fell off my race ;)

BTW, forgot to mention one fright I had.
After about 1.5 hours of racing, I got the dreaded message "you have been disconnected from the server". After much cursing and preparing to hit "esc", I realised that it was my TeamSpeak that had disconnected, not EVO.
Phew, finally a stroke of good fortune.

The car just understeered straight into a wall at 240Kmh. I blew the tyre and damaged the car but the car wouldn't go forward or reverse in any practical way. After 3 mins of trying to get the car moving my engine overheated and blew.

Rookie mistake and boy was i taught a lesson!! :tits:

I have been watching the replay of this, and I have to say this is the funniest thing I have seen for a long time in SimRacing. I have to admire Andrew's tenacity, perserverence, and lead foot trying desperately to get the car back on track :good: . It seems to go on forever in a huge screaming, smoking, crab walking fashion, which starts on the left side of the track and slowly edges further and further, inch by inch, towards the wall on the right side of the track. :terminator: :whip: Then finally ends, after what seems an eternity, in a cloud of smoke from the dead Lister. :poop: :rip: :censored:

Sorry Andrew, I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time, but it would make the most hilarious movie. :pound:
We Aussies don't throw in the towel without a fight. :grouphug: :aus:

What you missed was my head resting on the steering wheel at the conclusion. :faint: It must have been 3 hrs of practice, qualifying and warmup, 2 practice starts, and 2 laps of formation and then 4 laps of racing and the car won't move. I could see the entrance to pit lane from where i was. I wasn't angry at this point, i was more panic....much like the car won't start and you just keep begging it to turn over. I even thought about asking for someone to push me there.

Can someone post the replay files so i can go watch ollie's exit. Might make me feel better. I logged out on lap 19.

Oops, I guess I'd better write my report...

Qualifying: 12th. Couldn't have done much better, I guess.

Race: My first few laps were a shambles - the two formation laps put me half to sleep. Most of the race was rather uneventful for me, usually running bad laps mixed in with occasional adventures into the gravel traps when I got bored. :D During the second half of the race, Chris and I had a little intra-club fight, myself on his tail for a long while. Friendly and comedic chatter with Olly and Cam helped me to keep my sanity as the race wore on. Eventually, I crossed the line in 13th, the last racer to finish intact. Not the best result, but in the company of the MH and ATR aliens, what else can one expect? :smirk:

Grats to Jari for getting 2nd and helping to uphold our reputation, and thanks to all RD competitors for putting their noses to the grindstone for RD Oceania. See you guys at the Ring!

Of particular comic value is Olly's spectactular retirement... Worth tracking down.

A picture is worth a thousand laughs er words:

Nobody is safe, even in pitlane, when Olly is around. :fwd:

I hope Jarrod doesn't see this, he's running out of Audi paint.

Thankyou you all for showing up and your patience with the room being restarted.

The race seemed to go better then the last round but needs a lot of improvement on my end.
The race was good for me with everyone driving well from what ive seen. Jari and 2 ATR guys took off setting a pace that just couldnt be matched, Seemed the top 3 had a tight battle until the first round of stops. 4th to 11th managed to keep each other in sight until the first round of stops. I had a moment at the top of eau rouge and almost hit the pit exit wall missing it by around 10cm thankfully.

I will be putting the room up next weekend for practice and testing as will will be making some adjustments to the server. I will post details as soon as i have them.

Thanks again to you all for you patience.

Will try and get results up today sometime.

Snap, that's more-or-less what I did while trying to tell the pit crew to fix my puncture this time :p

What happened to you in the end Cam? I ducked through past you and Rhys when you both ran into the sand at Pouhon on lap 6-8ish, and while Rhys and I hung out together from there on in, you drifted back and then later it seemed you retired? And thumbs up for your perseverance Andrew, I saw your smoking car and assumed it was dead, otherwise I'd have given you a shove back to the pits.

Nords could be interesting at this rate, I don't really want to have to limp around even half of that track to get back for repairs

im not going to submit a race report ,but what i will say is congratulations to all especially Tyson and all those who were involved behind the scenes to get this event up and running ,ok you are going to have problems sometimes ,but as they say " s@#t happens ",yes eventually we got going ,and it turned out ok ,except for my little adventure in pit lane (read about it above ),once again well done all and thanks for the race
regards
olly

Olly what have you done. A lick of paint I can handle but a new front enf now your asking for mircles...

Now c'mon Jarrod, Olly took the time to cleanly remove the bonnet so as not to scratch it. Looks like just a bit of cut and wax will do the trick.

Bloody Artists!!! **big grin**

Olly, can you go and scrape the side a little, we don't want to spoil Jarrod.

But seriously, awesome paint jobs Jarrod. The Aston and the Lister are just perfect.:star:
