I repeat, it is a a lack of understanding or a lack of willing to understand the concept of a simulation, put together with the term racing (in this case) and not knowing about the capabilities of modern hardware, for reasons unknown. Therefore all the talk about simulation stays superficial in the popular media. The tendency is to fade out (intentionally or not) what is under the hood of a simulator. In worst case, racing games and racing simulators are thrown into the same pot in which the racing game might win over the simulator because it is so much more engaging. When you look at both concepts, racing games and racing simulators, the racing simulator usually tends to stay on the sober side when compared to a racing game.

Why is it that whenever a reporter gets into an F1 car or simulator they are utterly clueless and make a total mess of it.

Its totally fine for the reporter to be awful at driving but they should still cover things in an informative way , maybe actually doing a bit of background research then asking interesting questions covering key points and details rather than ultra generic points that are asked or gone over every single time a a car/simulator segment is done.

At least Anton Stipinovich tried to answer the reporter as best possible , though it looked to me by the end of the video he wanted to smash his face into a wall.
totally agree lol :roflmao:

hello guys, I've made a mistake or bad memory? first with all the aids turned off, unless I pushed the clutch pedal from the march did not fit ... but now come in even if I press the pedal ... I hope that is not how I think ...

Potentially spamming the thread ( :D ) but I made the mistake of going back and watching some of the old AC vids circulating on YouTube. I think I may be becoming dangerously obsessed, but the vid of the FAbarth at Imola looks sooooo good, and I'm not sure how much longer I can wait for this game before something snaps in my brain! I'm all for leaving Kunos to work in peace, and I'm sure they're working their balls off to get the game done ASAP, but can we just have a snippet of any sort of news to keep us going a little longer? This is agony!!! :O_o:

And from Marcos Facebook pic it looks like they were in Woking or atleast getting the data for the McLaren cars somewhere...

PS.: don't try the Zonda-R video at Monza, that makes it even harder to wait :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Yeah, I saw that. In some ways knowing news will come soon but not exactly when is worse than a total vacuum of news! I bet they're probably working 18hrs a day, 7 days a week at the minute though. They're probably sick to the back teeth of the game already! :p

Too late... :(

...and now we're half way through this week and no news :O_o:

Marco Massarutto Ok, some flash news. The inclusion of Pagani Huayra in Assetto Corsa hasn't been officially published but is not a secret anymore, we have collected all data we need to reproduce this 'hypercar' at the best. The AC Tech Preview has had an unexpected impact on our activities, adding a massive interest about our software technology. This is creating a lot of opportunities for our team, and meanwhile, we are supporting some big-name companies that already take advantage of our software for professional purposes This requires time and is one of the reasons of the lack of information released in April. Also, we have received a lot of feedback and suggestions not only by gamers but also by a lot of videogaming journalists and by other people involved in this business, that helped us to reconsider some features and options that should be included in Assetto Corsa (who said "career" mode?). We had already scheduled to include some of these features in additional packages, but we believe that the potential of Assetto Corsa has become so high that we must take the right decisions at the right time, also in relation of distribution channels we'll use to sell and distribute our game.
Soon, we'll have the answer to the most frequently asked question related to Assetto Corsa: "when?", cos' we have a precise date in mind. Also we'll reveal all main features and contents included in the game, starting to show&talk about gameplay.

I'll be honest, I have no idea what to make of the above statement...

Does it mean they're hooking up with a publisher? Is it a roundabout way of saying it's delayed? More licensing opportunities that have come up? ???

"career mode"? Reading this gives me a headache and brings back bad gaming memories. Please don't... at least - please nothing mandatory.

there's tons you could read into that, heres my take:

1) Maybe they're gonna try and get more core features into V1.0 like Pit Stops, Real Road Technocolgy (their version of course) and Weather instead of adding them later, RF2 has all that and is already out there, lest we not forget these are two games in competition with each other.

2) "Career Mode" wont be a quick addition, something like thats gonna take time so whilst doing that they can add in #1 above items as they go a long.

3) Sounds like they got more interest from professional racing companies (as well as the current crop), as they'd probably get more money from them than PC Gamers you could argue they'll cater to those companies first before us. If this is the case then I would'nt blame them, they are afterall a company themselves that need to make ends meet...we'd do the same to feed our kids!

4) Distribtuion could be related the recent Steam Greenlight thing, maybe they backed out (and thus were not added recently) so have looked at other avenues to further the product in the mainstream.

5) Pure guess on release date but reckon its pushed back a long way going by what was said above.

All just my thoughts so dont read those points as gospel hah :p

I was hoping for the game to be released soon, but it seems the only thing being released soon is the release date. The wait is unbelievably frustrating. Maybe I just go and weep myself to sleep.
