On the iOpener website there is a very interesting article about an upcoming World Rally Championship simulator:

World Rally Championship's next game: Racing live against rally heroes

The next generation WRC computer game will allow players to 'compete' in live rallies", states ISC chairman Neil Duncanson in the April version of SportBusiness International magazine. ISC, the global promoter of the World Rally Championship (WRC), mentions WRC's ultimate goal as building up an online gaming world championship alongside the real thing.
ISC and the computer gaming industry believe the next step in gaming is this 'live' competition between gamers and real drivers, made possible through iOpener's patented technology.
ISC CEO Simon Long says: "Now we are a global promoter, we want this to be multi-platform, multi-publisher, multi-territory."
For Long and Duncanson the new game is part of WRC's broader efforts to appeal new fans beyond the hardcore enthusiastics. FIA's chairman Max Mosley has said the virtual champion will be honoured at the WRC's annual end-of-season awards ceremony in Monaco.

Last April we already brought you the first news about iOpener Media's beta testers recruitment for their Real Time Racing project.

The news about this technology where virtual racers can compete against the real drivers on the track in real time is now spreading amoung the simracing communities.

iOpener is still looking for the worlds best simracers to join their beta test program that's about to start soon. If you are interested in joining then you can sign up on the RTR website

Hello, Lee.
Thanks for hosting my Mod and your kind credit to me.
Recently I knew this new WRC 3 section. And I'd like to post my Mods by myself from the next time.
Thanks for your time and kind support :)

Best regards

Tommi

What I consider as a big disappointment is that the SSs are trough one big track, just different sections. But there are very hard ones, i.e. over 6 minutes long in Rally de Portugal (you wont find anything like that in Dirt).
Yes, the more I play the game, the more this annoys me... Such a shame... Driving a 'full rally' (six stages) just isn't fun when you constantly pass the same scenery...

With the six available Y-shaped tracks, which all have 3 legs, you pass every leg FOUR times...! That's way too often for rally imho.
With the oval tracks it depends a little on where they plotted the stages, but you always pass specific spots at least three times, quite often four. When I look at the maps of my guide I can only see two very short parts (few hundred meters possibly?) in France and Spain that are passed only twice...

The 'funny' thing is that 1. Milestone said a main important part of making WRC 3 better was providing more stages and 2. they have a quote in one of the loading screens that says something like 'On a racetrack you pass 1 corner a 1000 times while in a rally you pass 1000 corners 1 time.' Or something like that. Well, to me rallying in WRC 3 way too often feels like rallying on a racetrack... In fact, a lot of the stages cover just as much distance as ONE lap in a Formula 1 race does...!!! It just takes you longer in WRC 3 because of all the corners and the far lower average speed.

Boy, I would pay a LOT for ONE rally with some 25 UNIQUE stages... Just like in real life...

Come on guys...how childish to remove that link !!
Are you afraid you'll lose some readers on this forum, you know that this does not happen.
It is simply intended as news.
Have you might never read another newspaper...
However you still have even made use above youtube videos from that site,
many were happy with that..thanks to me honestly.

As I told you through PM, consider yourself warned. We do not accept adveritising on RD and telling me our reasons are "bullshit" after I explained them to you isn't the kind of behaviour we'd like to see.

WRC 3 Close Cockpit Camera Mod

Hello.
I've edited "Close Cockpit Camera Mod" and would like to share :)

----------------------
* Description *
----------------------
- Added 2 new Cockpit Camera Positions, "Close" and "Very Close".

- Including "Normal" and "Career Mode Easy Unlock Mod" versions.
( Note : "Career Mode Easy Unlock Mod" unlocks most of the Cars, Paints, Vinyls, Upgrades and Areas in "Road to Glory" of WRC 3.)

- Because of the limitation of the hex editing, I could not edit all cars at a time.
Thus, I edited the following 2 versions, "(mainly for) 2WD Classes" & "(mainly for) Other Classes" versions.

Please refer to "Close Cockpit Camera - Available Cars List.png" included in this archive.

- I found "Look to Apex" is set to "ON" as default (for some cars) in the original camera settings file.
This may be the reason why the Cockpit Camera movement is so large even with "Look to Apex" set to "OFF" in "Game Options" menu.
So, I edited it and now Cockpit Camera becomes less movement.
(As usual, you can enable "Look to Apex" in "Game Options" menu.)

Thanks to LeMic and Luigi Auriemma for Mixfile ReMixer.

Thanks to Milestone for this fantastic game.

Hope you'll have a lot of fun with this Mod :) !

Actually modern rallies are now only made up of on average 3-5 stages per day, run through twice... So there aren't actually that many stages in a rally.
