On the iOpener website there is a very interesting article about an upcoming World Rally Championship simulator:

World Rally Championship's next game: Racing live against rally heroes

The next generation WRC computer game will allow players to 'compete' in live rallies", states ISC chairman Neil Duncanson in the April version of SportBusiness International magazine. ISC, the global promoter of the World Rally Championship (WRC), mentions WRC's ultimate goal as building up an online gaming world championship alongside the real thing.
ISC and the computer gaming industry believe the next step in gaming is this 'live' competition between gamers and real drivers, made possible through iOpener's patented technology.
ISC CEO Simon Long says: "Now we are a global promoter, we want this to be multi-platform, multi-publisher, multi-territory."
For Long and Duncanson the new game is part of WRC's broader efforts to appeal new fans beyond the hardcore enthusiastics. FIA's chairman Max Mosley has said the virtual champion will be honoured at the WRC's annual end-of-season awards ceremony in Monaco.

Last April we already brought you the first news about iOpener Media's beta testers recruitment for their Real Time Racing project.

The news about this technology where virtual racers can compete against the real drivers on the track in real time is now spreading amoung the simracing communities.

iOpener is still looking for the worlds best simracers to join their beta test program that's about to start soon. If you are interested in joining then you can sign up on the RTR website

User has been warned for telling me through PM that removing the link is "bullshit".
There is a forum here to use for fans of the game
Come on guys...how childish to remove that link !!
Are you afraid you'll lose some readers on this forum, you know that this does not happen.
It is simply intended as news.
Have you might never read another newspaper...
However you still have even made use above youtube videos from that site,
many were happy with that..thanks to me honestly.

very good!!
Patrick, the FXAA inj normally get about a 12% FPS hit using it on battlefield 3, but it does allow for ingame AA to be turned off, so its swings and round abouts. set FXAA to low in 'ini' and enjoy the colour correction with minimal FPS hit. hope this helps :)

Just gave that mod a try: all 'stars' in Road to Glory, so all rallies, were available for Free Run! And all cars too! Apparently that boss remark is meant for unlicking events and area's...? But all I want is access to the single stages or rallies with all cars and that works like a charm now! Awesome!!! :)
Unfortunately the webmaster has removed the link..fortunately gave the site your game more fun.

Interesting mod, however I like the default contrast and colors a LOT more. This mod knocks all the subtle tones out of the game and the contrast is way too much imho. Nice try though! And easy to uninstall, so no problems here. ;)

I sent you a PM to explain why it was removed, it is the rules here set by admin, I have no control over it. I could of just removed your link but i did the decent thing and PM'd you to explain why. You have not had the decency to reply to that but instead post here moaning.Rules are rules, i don't create them, i just follow them

First of all I noticed I can't set the AI slider to the far right. Well, yes, I can, but when I confirm the changes and go back to those options, the slider ALWAYS is one notch to the left... Anyone else has this too?

Secondly: I've been driving with the slider in the middle for starts. Still pretty hard to finish a bit near the top. This afternoon I decided to check the various levels of AI. I set the slider to the far left and (obviously) won everything. How boring. So I set the slider to the far right (well, one notch down, see above) and to my surprise it seemed that setting wasn't really harder then the slider at the middle. I even ended up 3rd once. Although I also ended up almost last two times but that was due to a crash: one mistake and you are utterly lost completely. It seems the AI doesn't crash that much...? Anyway, with the AI at the highest level I don't win but I have a nice battle trying to get into the top 8 or something like that. Anyone else also noticed the difference between AI at the middle and far right isn't that much at all?

Finally: I drive with all HUD options AND all help options off (odd that the highest difficulty level keeps semi-auto gear enabled...? I have that set to manual). I also now drive without flashbacks. Anyone else who does this too? It's a lot more exciting but also more frustrating every now and then... ;) Specially since the co-driver often is too late with his announcing sharp corners...

toweleeie

There is no ini to change mate, that not the enb series. also i said set ingame AA to level 1 to get the best image and performance. I got a fps hit of 5-8 max.

@ jan
It doesnt knock out the subtle tones, it knocks out the false green luma wich is a big fail AGAIN in the wrc series. And what you call contrast is the pre shapen filters ive added.;)

Ah, well, I guess this is all very subjective because when I turn off the effect I see a lot of subtle colors reappearing again. And detail in the colors/textures (which were hidden in all the black spots). The game is already quite 'hard', specially in the warmer countries, and with this injector things get even more contrast. I do see things get a lot sharper too, but again, at the cost of soft tones, so it seems. And I don't see a false green luma btw... Apart from being subjective I suppose it also depends on your monitor settings...?

Anyway, it's really nice to have options! :) That's the great thing about gaming on the PC: how you can mod things! ;)

I wonder what kind of rallies you like most? I like the ones in Finland, Wales, Australia, New Zealand, France, so those that have a bit more softened mood around them, more toned down greens and a bit of haze here and there. ;) I don't really like the hard sun in Portugal or Mexico and similar locations. I also think I like the Y-shaped courses more then the oval ones: the Y-shaped rallies give me a real A to B feeling, even though I start to recognize things after a few stages. But the oval ones don't feel like rally somehow: it's almost as if you are driving on a track... I can imagine the Y-shapes being used in real life but the oval ones feel to much as if the developers tried to trick us into believing there were several unique stages out there...

I don't have ONE favorite rally. Driving different ones in a row keeps things a bit surprising and I wouldn't drive a specific rally twice in a row anyway...!

I find it very massive improvement. Graphics finally looks well, the details are great. Sounds seem better as well :) What I consider as a big disappointment is that the SSs are trough one big track, just different sections. But there are very hard ones, i.e. over 6 minutes long in Rally de Portugal (you wont find anything like that in Dirt). Also, in the championship mode, service after every stage? Really... Maybe the navigating could be better too, but it's individual I think. But when I drive a female crew, I want to hear a woman! :D

But in general, I really like the game. It's enjoyable, provides competition, fun. Even the physics is good, good compromise between simulation and arcade

well it don’t look like they are going to fix this with the G27 for some time so iv resorted to using the paddles to change gear and using the stick as a handbrake and it feel quite nice TBH but I’m still crap at it the car looks like crap after the end of each stage :)

but if someone dose find a fix for the G27 gear **** pleas post its a bit crap that a new game comes out and it don’t support fully probably one of the most popular Racing wheels on the market today didn’t they think to test it and fix it ?? Bone heads

just installed from DVD pc version using G27 wheel but gear stick shifter not working (paddles work fine) anyone know what I need so I can use the stick, I know in RBR you need a plug-in cant see why you would need one for a new game like this

also I’m using my G35 head set and I have no engine sound from the car in game but if I use my Logitech 7.1 surround desk top speakers its fine, but i would prefer to use my head set

if anyone can help with the 2 problems above pleas post up thanks

Try to use 2 channels in windows audio devices.
For the G27 same here, but almost all rally cars have sequencial gear, and not H gear shift.
