On the iOpener website there is a very interesting article about an upcoming World Rally Championship simulator:

World Rally Championship's next game: Racing live against rally heroes

The next generation WRC computer game will allow players to 'compete' in live rallies", states ISC chairman Neil Duncanson in the April version of SportBusiness International magazine. ISC, the global promoter of the World Rally Championship (WRC), mentions WRC's ultimate goal as building up an online gaming world championship alongside the real thing.
ISC and the computer gaming industry believe the next step in gaming is this 'live' competition between gamers and real drivers, made possible through iOpener's patented technology.
ISC CEO Simon Long says: "Now we are a global promoter, we want this to be multi-platform, multi-publisher, multi-territory."
For Long and Duncanson the new game is part of WRC's broader efforts to appeal new fans beyond the hardcore enthusiastics. FIA's chairman Max Mosley has said the virtual champion will be honoured at the WRC's annual end-of-season awards ceremony in Monaco.

Last April we already brought you the first news about iOpener Media's beta testers recruitment for their Real Time Racing project.

The news about this technology where virtual racers can compete against the real drivers on the track in real time is now spreading amoung the simracing communities.

iOpener is still looking for the worlds best simracers to join their beta test program that's about to start soon. If you are interested in joining then you can sign up on the RTR website

Are there any Group B cars in this title, not seen any yet?
Don't think there are any... In the WRC Experience part of the game you have WRC, Class 2 and Class 3. That's it. If you want other cars you need to go to Road to Glory... and there you can unlock (yikes) besides WRC, Class 2 and 3 also 2000's, 90's, 80's, 70's, 2WD Pro and 2WD Rookie cars. Maybe there are some Group B cars in the 80's section...?

I just discovered (on the forum mentioned above ;) ) though that you can ALSO do single stages or single rallies in Road to Glory! This mean you can drive stages and rallies in every car anyway!
You first have to gain access to the various available rallies though, but once you have, you can go there and instead of proceeding with Road to Glory, you can choose Free run and THEN you can choose Single stage or Single rally and drive anything you want with any of the cars! Obviously this is only for offline and you have to unlock stuff... yikes.

I will see if I can find an unlocker that gives access to it all so I can race with ANY car on any stage I want!

Yes i found this over at NG earlier and yes there seems to be a mod around that opens all the Road to Glory up

This is a mod that allows you to unlock all the parts of this part of the game without having to slug through it all. It also opens up the other classes of cars, 70's, 80's and 90's etc. I have tried it and it works fine and you can use the cars on a single stage or Rally through the Road to Glory part of the game.

No mod yet is released to allow use of the cars in the normal part of WRC3.

Credit goes to TommiTAG for the mod.

Yeah, but you still need to defeat the 'end boss' of each 'level' to get access to all events...? Doesn't sound too good to me. ;)

There is a forum here to use for fans of the game
LOL I thought I was still posting in the Other Racing Games & Simulations forum...! LOL So there is a dedicated WRC 3 forum now: nice! :) I will bookmark it.

Yeah so it seems, fingers crossed they can change that but it's enough for now

Just gave that mod a try: all 'stars' in Road to Glory, so all rallies, were available for Free Run! And all cars too! Apparently that boss remark is meant for unlicking events and area's...? But all I want is access to the single stages or rallies with all cars and that works like a charm now! Awesome!!! :)

Yes i asked Bramnam to create one for us last night as the game seems like it's ripe for modding and so could really be a decent prospect :)

EC Sim Hardware are working on a sounds, physics and FFB mod for this title. If they pull it off it could be good. I really like this game already because it's fun. But it's the stages more than the physics IMO that make it challenging, the physics are quite forgiving.

Awesome! Where can I find more info on this?

I agree with you, I think the stages are amazing. The driving model is pretty good but could use some tweaking to become more sim IMO.

This looks very promising in general for WRC3 fans, remember guys RBR started out without mods and it was the mods that made it what it was. WRC3 looks promising already with regards to mods

I don't think there is alot of info around right now regarding the mod Patrick apart from these teasers on YT. They do seem to be quite good answering questions though on their videos.

I have created a thread for the mod and will update the thread when so, so it doesn't all get lost in this thread

Not default for me. Before every stage make sure you adjust the steering lock in the car setup to full. In the wheel settings i have strength at around 65%, everything else right down as far as they go.

I having some difficult time on this game, the wheel setting where i use in F1 or Race 07 or Shift 2 doesnt look fine here especially the wheel in game didnt turn exactly the same with my wheel, wheel in game turn very fast from center to half way then slow down before reach full lock, i dont like that :(
