Another question... Do we use the FSR Hockenheim or the original one? Because the FSR one looks muuuuch better with 3D grass and so on... Would be a shame to not use the modded tracks by FSR, when you think of the lack of tracks we have at rf2.

Ill bat that one to @Gijs van Elderen , Its true that its niceto use the best tracks, on the other hand Gijs has tested the current one and made a vmod and its a test race only.

Some guys are asking if we would use the FSR tracks:

I'm testing the FSR tracks to use it in the official rounds. Some thing different from the original track is the DRS rules. I've setup the server to use DRS during practice and quali everywhere, and during the race in the DRS zones with a time gap of course.

The Superpole quali with the DRS you can use to the max, is just an awesome format. It's everything or nothing. :geek:. Just the thought of it makes my hands sweaty. :)

At the FSR tracks DRS is only available in the DRS zones at all sessions. But that's not a reason to not use it. ;)

But the main reason we are staying with the original Hockenheim at the moment is, that we encountered some cut warnings on track during the FSR Imola track with the Indycar. So each inch of the track needs to thoroughly tested. If there is no problem with the cut warnings with this car and tracks, we can use them.

I can't find the FSR SPA version. :(

Feel free to test the tracks with the F3.5 and report it here in the Paddock chat. So i can point a finger to someone else if you guys go flaming about a unfair cut warning. :D

And Suzuka doesn't have a DRS zone. If someone could make/find a Suzuka with a DRS zone. That would be awesome.

We are sticking with the "original" Hockenheim for the test race.

If you guys want to use the FSR tracks for the official rounds: Lets discus it further in the Paddock chat.

Suzuka is under construction by FSR at the moment :) Will be avaiable in about one week.

Please note that there has been a change in the information thread regarding parc ferme.
Previously we said all setup options will be open for all sessions.
Edit 26/9/2014 We will now most probably go with "Parc Ferme". Check the race thread carefully.

I did see correspondence about Spa and an invisible wall issue at Eau Rouge. I think Spa got swapped to later to allow it to be fixed.
I don't know why it was a big problem in FSR. I raced there before with the FR 2014 and it was no issue in the three races I drove there. These kind of bugs can be car related as well. I had an invisible wall on the exit of stowe in the WSGT mod and there is definetely no wall as I drove over that curb countless times in a big variety of cars. So for the FR 2014 it shouldn't be an issue. To be save don't go extreme low on the ride height and take a normal line. The invisible wall is only there, if you take way too much curb there and it would most likely spin you out in the FR 2014 with the lower downforce.

Bahrain (McNolo) is basically original author track with changed track surface. Sepang and Silverstone (ISI) we have added secondary DRS zone, other than that there isn't much difference, so you might as well use original tracks unless you need those DRS zones. Monza has some new textures.

Suzuka there are only crap versions out which are either too bumpy (rF1 low-res mesh) or look like mario graphics. I'm working on Suzuka with proper mesh and updated textures etc for rF2, including DRS zone on main straight. I'll post it for public download in beginning of next week.

The sign-up process:

We need to have full grids, have time to invite reserves, treat them properly and we need to know who is racing for what team before the event. For that reason a clear process is in place.

A thread will be created for the round.
  1. All intending WCC drivers will be tagged and need to sign up.
  2. At 48 Hours before official practice ANY empty seats will be offered to Signed up Reserve / Guest Drivers then Casual Guest drivers.
  3. At 24 Hours before official practice any empty seats will be made available to late signups.

Signed up Reserve / Guest Drivers
Will have the first option on an empty seat. Once a round has been driven the driver will be tagged in the round thread.

Casual Guest drivers:
Will have the next option
- Everybody (with a RD license) else who wants to join a round, can do so as a guest driver. However this is a championship season, so please be aware of RD League Regs section 3.3 dealing with practice, pace and control of the car. If you can drive it clean, safe and courteous you are welcome.
- If they sign up the next round again: They will be considered as a VWSR F3.5 driver and will be tagged in the next round.
A driver becomes a full time (WCC) driver when a seat becomes available and he/she is assigned to a team.
