Misc True to Life AI 2013 Season 1.4

This is because the AI never went into the pits. I tested this last night - quick race at Monaco, set to heavy rain, 50%, Legend difficulty. You can correct this by setting the values for inters and wets in the "tyres" table in the database to be the same values as the medium and hard compounds.

I did this and on lap 19 the AI pitted as suggested by the engineer.
So for now just adjust those tyre values.

I'll be pushing out v1.3 soon, just making some slight adjustments to driver performance & testing the 50% database a bit more. Everything works just dandy with the 100% database lol, this 50% DB has been a nightmare to get working right
So I went into the database file into the "tyres" tab. Both medium and intermediate were already set at 63.62 and both the hard and monsoon tyres were set at 77.33. Apparently I had that problem (16 RET, 1 DSQ) when they had the same wear levels as the hard and medium anyway.

You said you were using the 50% database...
Clearly you're not, because those values are from the 100% database.

I'm getting so tired of this tyre wear sh*t with this game..such a f**king mess

@snthennumbers To change the Weather you have to alter the tod.xml file which was located in the tracks/circuits/circuit name folder. It wont completely erase the Rain but it decreased dramatically the chance of Rain. I remember a Mod for that in early time also.

and @Steffen Schaefer this doesn't work.
Here's my code for the tod.xml file for Brazil:
Code:
<scenario_settings>
<!-- Brazil -->
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic" prob="0.0" />
<!-- 0.9 -->
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_a" prob="0.0" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_b" prob="0.4" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_c" prob="0.6" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_d" prob="0.0" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_e" prob="0.5" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_f" prob="1.0" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_g" prob="0.8" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_h" prob="0.0" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_i" prob="0.6" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_j" prob="0.6" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_k" prob="0.6" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_l" prob="0.0" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_m" prob="0.9" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_n" prob="0.7" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_o" prob="0.0" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_p" prob="1.1" />
  <scenario name="scenario_dynamic_q" prob="0.9" />
  <scenario name="scenario_sunny" prob="0.9" />
  <scenario name="scenario_light_cloud" prob="0.8" />
  <scenario name="scenario_overcast" prob="0.9" />
  <scenario name="scenario_light_rain" prob="0.0" /> <!-- 0.2 -->
  <scenario name="scenario_heavy_rain" prob="0.0" /> <!-- 0.1 -->
  <scenario name="scenario_light_rain_ta" prob="0.0" /> <!-- 0.2 -->
</scenario_settings>

I then do a full weekend with dynamic weather at Brazil, and during Practice about 40 minutes in I get rain and this

Meanwhile along with the above code, I have set the database dynamic_environment_settings and weather_setting tables to create no rain for the "dynamic" weather setting:

Capture2.JPG

and finally in the race, with a 76% chance of rain according to my HUD, I get this 7 laps in:

Conclusion:
I believe weather is handled in the .exe

I have installed 1.2 and now noticed that suddenly the AI in malaysia are super slow, please help or tell me what to do, they are only normal speed if you fast forward and are slow in the race also

Interesting, just tested it.
With your new tyre values (1.2) I get no pit stop strategy for Montreal 50% rain
with my old values I get 3-stop strategy
tyre_wear_level
Code:
1-1-0,99
2-2-0,99
3-3-0,99
tyres
Code:
1-17,35-Super Soft
2-23,135-Soft
3-31,81-Medium
4-40,985-Hard
5-38,172-Intermediate
6-48,582-Monsoon
You said setting tyre_wear_level to 1 would corrupt 2nd season but was it also for 0.99? I have never yet reached 2nd season, so I don't know :D

Was going to download your mod and noticed that at the top of this page its v1.2 zip but when I click on download it has v1.1, how to get v1.2. Thanks in advance.

The issue wound up being that the game is actually working right. If you use the 100% database and do a 100% Monaco race in the rain, you'll see the engineer will give you a pitstop strategy of 1 stop on lap 39. This means the 50% race in Monaco (using the 100% database) is a zero stop race for most teams. Mercedes seems to be one team that does a 1 stop 50% race.

I did a 100% Monaco race in the rain, and the AI did pit on lap 39, including Mercedes (disregard the lap number I'm on in the second image, I sat and let it run without me for a little bit):

As for the number of retirements in the race, my 100% race by lap 39 had 17 cars still running. There wouldn't be any difference between this and a 50% race since the cars are heavier with 100% distance fuel. As well, since the heavier cars in my race made it to lap 39 and did pit, there's no reason why the AI in the 50% race would have a higher retirement rate. This is for the 100% database.

I then tested this with the 50% database - same result. The AI came in to pit on schedule (again disregard my lap number):

So all the files I have will be made available in this next release, so now I know if you have a problem again it's you ;)

Hey just a quick question - I have just raced Spa and Monza doing 25% race distance and my tyres aren't wearing any more... Can you please explain what the new "50% scaled tyre wear" part of the mod is? Does it prevent the tyre simulation for 25% races or something?

It's not a big concern as I'm just trying to fly through my first season and get into the Red Bull for season 2 and go onto 50% or full races and I can see you're pretty massively busy with some other tyre issues and the weather. Why do you hate the rain so much anyway? Can't we just all get along? :p

Edit: Just realised I wasn't using the latest patch. Now racing in Singapore and the tyre wear is definitely back.

Do you prefer licensed hardware?

  • Yes for me it is vital

  • Yes, but only if it's a manufacturer I like

  • Yes, but only if the price is right

  • No, a generic wheel is fine

  • No, I would be ok with a replica
