Ive got a problem with this mod:

After installing the complete season 1.0, I have wrong drivers in wrong teams:

Force India: Instead of Sutil there is Kobayashi but with the picture of Sutil.
Sauber: Pedro de la Rosa instead of Guiterrez but there is a picture of Guiterrez.
Williams: Kovalainen instead of Bottas but there is a picture of Bottas.
Caterham: Glock instead of Van der Garde but there is a picture of Van der Garde.
Marussia: Senna and Petrov instead of Bianchi and Chilton but the pictures are correct.

So I removed everything again and installed Mr Pibb 2013 Mod firstly and the complete season 1.0 afterwards. Unfortunately no solution, still the same problem. It must be the database because after replacing the season 1.0 database with the Mr Pibb database there were the drivers of 2012 in their usual seats.

I've done 5 100% races with the 2012 mod, and i've seen a huge gap between Tier 2 and 3 cars, normally 1 or 2 lap. Being a Torro Rosso i'm keeping up with the Sauber but just by a thread if i make a mistake i can forget it. The cars behind me are at 1 lap and more.

Is this normal, because it's always boring finishing 12 or better if somebody in the front retires from the races. I'm playing on legend

Turn 9? Sure if you drive an aggressive way and come from the inside there's a chance the AI goes off the track. Try racing more like the AI does especially when overtaking ... if I had something to point out, it would be the first lap when the AI drives usually slow the way before turn 9, so you can gain 4-6 places easily almost every time, coming from the back of the grid. Or their crash behaviour at turn 3 which occurs more frequently (AI crashes into AI usually place 12-18)
I'm not talking about being aggressive as I never pass on that corner, every time I follow the AI through turn 9 (.5-1.5 seconds behind) they run wide and have to correct their racing line which makes them very slow down the back straight and you end up right behind them going into 11/12.

It is not a rare occurrence either as it happens every lap, and I do try race like the AI even though battling with them loses you like 2 seconds in one sector since they defend so hard. :)

One advice in common: DO NOT CLICK "OK" when the game says your save is corrupt and bla bla. QUIT THE GAME then the game does not delete your profile/save (and you can undo the changes or backup the savegame)

Hi. :)
I am new to F1 2013 and want to play mainly career mode with the 2012 season carset(not 2013 because i don't need new drivers in old cars)

Is this mod recommendable?
Which other mods do I need for realism?
Does it work with career mode(tire wear etc...)?
Which version do I need to install when I want to play the original 2012 carset?

Alright all, I've identified the crashing issue with the current version and am working to correct it. Once that's done I'll create a nice installation guide.

Hoping to have everything posted tonight, thanks for your patience.

snthennumbers updated True to Life AI with a new update entry:

Repacked, inclusions, & updates

Recompiled the entire 2013 mod from scratch due to installation issues which arose from previously edited CTF files in the "balanced" folders for Nurburgring and Istanbul. Created step-by-step installation guide. Sorry for the large download size, but this now has everything you need for a complete 2013 Season. And most importantly - it works! I've followed the included installation instructions exactly, 3 times in a row before posting this, so I know it works.

Most importantly – please...

nice!
did you figure out a way to make flying lap work on nurburgring or istanbul?

Unfortunately not. Derpish said he needed to edit a .rm file in order to do this, but didn't know how to open the file. I'm not sure how this aspect is handled either since I can't find a .rm file in the F1 2012 directory.
But at least you can accelerate time in qualifying now

If anyone can find out how to fix the flying lap issues at Nurburgring and Istanbul I'm all ears.

The .rm files are located in Reducedmechanics.jpk that is located in Route_0.

@snthennumbers

I tested the tyre scaling method I mentioned earlier. It works for me, with proper player tyre wear. Here are the database settings for 50% (3 to 4 stop race).

f1teams- multiply front_tyre_wear and rear_tyre_wear by 2
track_tyre_wear_level- set all wear_level to 1
track_model- edit all tracks with tyre_wear_level of 2. Change it to 3
tyres- set max_distance to 35% of default values(SSoft:12.5; Soft:16.19; Med:22.27; Hard:28.34; Inter:22.27; Monsoon:28.34). You may set it lower for higher tyre wear, but setting it too low will increase AI pit stops and player's engineer suggested stops.

Just sharing my findings.

Alright, I tried this last night and did a 50% race-only event at Canada, started in 5th as Alonso. Engineer said I should stop on lap 5 to switch off of the Super Softs. Started the race, AI went into the pits around lap 5/6. By lap 5 my rear tyres were browning, fronts were a light brown. I could have easily done another 5 laps on them without batting an eye though. Tyres weren't anywhere near orange like @Melphiz is saying.
I use a wheel with no assists if that makes a difference...

I'm still convinced scaled tyre wear settings only effect the suggested pitstop strategy for Player and AI  I have yet to see any setting that causes my tyres to wear out quicker than normal. Frankly I'm not even sure if my adjusted tyre longevity values in this current release even has an effect besides making the Engineer suggest more pitstops.

Well @snthennumbers I've driven now plenty of 50% races with his stated "track_tyre_wear_level" to 1 and "track_model"'s "tyre_wear_level" 2 to 3 and personally prefered tyre "max_distance" to 50% for dry and 60% for wet and to me it works, in career too. Haven't raced all circuits yet, also not Canada, so can't speak for all tracks but in generel it's working. And now I really don't poker with driving more laps as I'm really starting to slide when the tyres are shown orange to red. So for me (360 pad, auto shift, med TC) it is setting given pitstop strategy +1 lap and I know that'll be the limit for a good grip.

that's a shame :(
On the tyre wear: did someone try out changing the values in the "wear_level"-column of the the track_tyre_wear_level tab?
I think I tried something like "-0.3" once and it felt like something was changing to the actual tyre wear, not sure if it was an illusion though.
