Ok did some laps on Spa, short qualify, legend difficulty, with Alonso and one of the best set-ups on RD for Spa. I drive 1:50.4 which is pretty onto my limit (not always flawless too). I could drive a 1:50 maybe. The fastest time was 1:48.7 set by Massa. Now I will do the same for Monza. Tbh, AI is too fast in qualify on each track almost. And it's not that I'm driving like a noob. Anyhow, will do the same now for Monza.
I made the same thing with Ferrari And Alonso. In both conditions (with and without timeshifting) AI sucks.

So, try drive on Professional difficulty

Eeeh... How the f*** you drive a 1:46 ? :s Do you use a wheel or so ?

Also, did a 25% race with full qualifying at Budapest on legend. Managed to get quite 'easy' in the top 10. Then I started at 8 and won the race. However they were catching up on me, but I won with a 1.3 sec difference to Webber. AI was pretty much the whole not far off. To me I think it's just Monza and Spa that are quite AI overpowered.

EDIT: did a practice session at Monza on legend mode with a Caterham. Seems like the Marussias and the other Caterham were 1.3 sec slower then the fastest time. I was 2.2 sec slower --'

It's great to see people get a 1:46. But for me that's really impossible to reach.

Same for me mate...cheers to being apparently rubbish at Spa  .. of course then I'm perfectly competitive on raceday. Such weird stuff sometimes...
Monza is the same...I can't qualify well there either but raceday is fine.
Nurburgring - same. But that's an exception since it wasn't meant to be in this game of course.

I've reached out to my contact at Codemasters to see if he has any insight into the issue with time acceleration throwing off qualifying results...

version 4.1 will be coming out soon. Istanbul AI is as strong as I can make it without having it start making mistakes and sliding around - had to adjust nearly every corner there. I'm still working on the Nurburgring AI - it's a real mess. I've had to adjust every single corner and they're still not quite on the pace during raceday. I'm starting to hit the limit of how fast I can make the AI go lol

Stay tuned...other good stuff coming

Yea, it's weird at Spa and Monza.

Btw, will there be made changes in the database ? Cause I changed some small stuff in your database. Some drivers weren't at the right place (DLR at Sauber for example lol)

(Regarding your video)

Well you're either not using my CTF files or you're using a highly customized car setup. Default car setup (gear ratios at least, I only have minor adjustments to suspension settings), with my CTF files and a Ferrari tops out at 322kph, not 339kph like in your video.
You're also not using the 2013 DRS zones from v4.0

I just did a quick qualifying session in a Ferrari (as Alonso) on Legend, using a wheel, no assists, never accelerated time, but did do a flying lap when the session started. Results:

Pretty strange spread...

And then the result of the 25% race:

Fought with Webber for most of the race, broke away towards the end and was gifted 2nd place by Hamilton making a mistake trying to pass Vettel into turn 8 and braking his front wing. Then on lap 10 going into the turn 18/19 chicane Vettel's brakes gave out. Webber caught me up in the mayhem, tried a pass into turn 5 on the final lap, but didn't make it stick, and Raikkonen took advantage. Overall a very competitive (and lucky!) race for me. But BlazingRiCO I'm sure your Spa races are just as good yes? This is what I mean by the game adjusting performance to the Player's ability. Blazing does 1:50's at Spa, I do 1:51's or so during qualifying. Same files, and we both have good races (correct Blazing?)

The results of my 25% race at Spa on LEGEND difficulty. Also did a Q, but 100% sure to start at the back so I kinda skipped it after some laps.

Look where I start and look where I finished WITHOUT cheating. Took me some laps to get there, so it's not that I'm a noob. I must say, the race result is very realistic compared to real life !

Done 2 races of career at caterham..AI seems alot better..and im battling with the cars like me, the crapper ones..yet to see a random crash from AI and safety car deployed, if that happens, wud be good to see

Yeah I hear you. Getting the SC out though is a pain. An AI car must become disabled while on the racing line or close to it, otherwise it's just a yellow flag incident. The game doesn't care if a car is disabled off the track unfortunately.
Glad to hear the racing is good though

That's the kind of results I get too. I've found that if you don't accelerate time during qualifying at Spa and Monza, and manually drive out of, and into the pits (aka no form of time management at all) the AI usually doesn't make crazy laps. This seems to apply for Istanbul and Nurburgring as well (available in v4.1 coming soon).

Results of a 100% distance, Legend difficulty race at Nurburgring driving as Jensen Button (no assists), with my corrected AI racing line.
Alonso had mechanical issues for most of the race.
Time penalties are the result of a currently uncorrectable issue with the AI at Turn 3 on lap 1 of Nurburgring races (details on overview page > disclaimers section)

SN could you tell me how to make certain teams perform worse/better? Ive tried editing engine power per team and virtual performance in the database but it doesn't seem to have much of an affect
