Tactile Immersion - General Discussion - Hardware & Software

To do the tuning, it would be better to do something like this, use threaded rod that is longer than needed so that you can make adjustments, once happy you could then replace it with a bolt of required length to tidy it up.

Well holy shieeet!! What a difference! The wheel slip effects have taken on a new life. Haven't experimented with different levels of preload yet, but this is beautiful. Thanks for your help dude and directing me where to buy these rubber pucks. I used a 26mm spring from a local supplier

The new Next Level rig coming out is looking pretty porno! I'm tempted to sell my RSeat N1 and just go with this for my next build. Looks so easy to work on it for tactile with all the space afforded under the seat and pedal tray. I don't normally preorder incase there are some design issues that reviewers can reveal, but damn I'm tempted

It looks pretty nice on first glance with the flashy angled cuts but you could buy and build that for less than half of what they are charging. If you didn't want to get into self building, the P1X beats it on price and still offers profile that is double the size.

Agreed the price will put off some, the P1-X is $1200 AUD without factoring in shipping and doesn't offer what the elite is going for. The ability to quickly change positions for GT and formula especially when in VR is a massive point of difference. It feels very odd to drive a formula car in a gt3 position in VR, completely kills the immersion for me

Is it that quick to change on it? I swap between gt and formula all the time and just went for an aggressive gt position that is quite laid back and pedals reasonably high. Not formula but about as far as gt cars go towards that, and far less upright than almost any rig I see here. its a good compromise position that works for both styles.

VR is quite funny though, I am quite laid back but put me in a car that doesnt look like that in VR and it can feel like I am in that car, sitting much higher than I actually am.

I think the next level looks like it will take some time to adjust and it doesnt look like there is anything to help you adjust the seat quickly. While I am on a role bagging it, their pictures are awful, not one has a formula position that looks usable :)

It really doesn't look that "quick" with all the bolts you need to unbolt and readjust as well as moving seat mounts into different slots. I am sure it works but can't picture myself doing it frequently. As for Formula/GT position. Proper GT position is not far off from F1 car.

But if decide to go with the rig, please post your feedback here, it certainly looks interesting.

Also, if I can add something more useful than what I said previously. I can see that they wanted to do something 8020 but different. I look at all the things I have done on my P1 and they would be harder to do on that. The great thing about 8020 is how easy it is to adapt yet when I think about the attachments I have made to mine, they would all be harder to achieve because of the angles they have on the main uprights.

Good points being made, definitely more that needs to be considered. What attachments did you make for your P1 metalnwood?

On the left upright I have a button box, on the right upright I have a tablet. Simple to mount on to a vertical upright but neither basic mounting would work on something with that angle unless you want your stuff pointing down.

You can see how they have the mount for the shifter on the right, lots of us have added something on the left as well. Easy enough to put a piece of 4040 coming off the upright parallel to the floor with standard brackets. Not the end of the world with this but your brackets would not line up its notches with the 8020 slots so you would have to cut off the notches and then probably use two brackets to stop it rotating - which was the job of the notches you cut off.

It would be difficult for me to put my sfx100 actuators on that as there is no room to fit them as their design has left no room forward of the uprights to attach things, the pedal tray height adjustment uses that part of the frame.

I dont like how you have to mount something low like those shifters but because the uprights lean back they are near interfering with the shifters. For me, that would be a problem with my flight throttle on the left. I mount it as far forward as I can but would have to mount it further back or my knuckles would be hitting the upright. Thats a couple issues I would have how mine is setup with a p1. Honstly, I can only see they think it looks better because it makes everything a little harder.

I have a few attachments for the P1 and am a big fan of it. I used a quad monitor mount to add Phillip Hue lights.. something I highly recommend.

Added an Apex button box that blends in perfectly with the front wheel mount. Got the “sim shelf” that is large enough to hold my quite large PC case (meshify 2). Integrated monitor stand that can hold a G9. “Sim Floor” to keep my toddler from falling to his death when he stands on the seat.

P1 is high enough to support all sorts of tactile. Right now just on my seat I have an LFE, TST, and two BK Advances. Also lots of room. I’m 6’2” and had to move on from my last rig because I couldn’t get comfortable.

Not sure if you can see from my wire gore picture but I can mount my USB hub, and big ass SC2 power cord directly on the rig.

Highly recommend the P1-X and other rigs like it simply for the versatility. They may not look flashy but they get the job done.

(I don’t know why my photos keep uploading sideways!)

Cheers for the input and sharing your experiences. I'll have a few things to consider now. Ultimately I don't think there is a solution that wins in every aspect which leads me to figuring out what to compromise on

I'm a big fan of the P1 as a starting point and I've take substantial liberties with mine. Realistically, I've got the original base, uprights and vertical SC2 mount. The seat and pedal deck are all mine. I changed the right side mount for my H pattern shift and have lots of custom aluminum mounts and 3D printed things mounted to it.

I try not to cross post much, but @Mr Latte gave me a push in the right direction and after a while I finally came up with a solution that would allow me to drive my foot plate with both a BK-CT and TST329 and still fit my rig.

My swiss cheese foot plate still has holes where I had two Auras mounted under it and for front isolator mounts.

This last shot shows my constraints under my foot plate which only has about 2.75" of clearance over my flight pedals.

So I feel like I’m getting too afraid to ask, but what is the actual difference in performance between the Concert and the LFE? I always assumed the LFE was the one to get but I’ve seen a lot of people with Concerts as well.

They are pretty similar.

The LFE is easier on your amplifier and more efficient and has a low frequency boost.

I got my first CT because I understood it had less issues with pistoning, which is something I was told but have never verified.

I got a second because I wanted a matched pair.

I'm curious what effects you all typically send to pedal plate.

At present I have two PUI bass shaker pucks underneath my seat that I use for road impacts. I am looking to add two exciters, hopefully attached to side mount seat brackets, then possibly a couple exciters to pedal plate.

My setup will still be very basic, so ability to layer effects, and other more advanced effects are still out of reach for me. I am still very happy with the little bit of extra immersion I get with what I have, though it does not come close to what many of you have accomplished with your setups.

Thanks
