Peter, I admire your patience when dealing with "RTFM" people. Not an easy task!

I think I'll wait until the dust with latest CM and CSP settles down a bit before updating any of them.

Actually with the next CSP 0.1.80 it could have a good solution. Then such things are solved. It just a small bug with tremendous effects. But anyway, thats the world. The crasiest thing is, there are more and more people without any knowledge of computers or windows and such things. And i don't know how i should rate this.
Do we crack the border to gain the interests of people with modding games or getting the people dumper and dumper, because there is no need to deal with finding simple solutions themself. And i don't mean specific modding problems. I mean simple things like, if people drag and drop files in windows, they do not know where the files are after this. Thats crazy. And we are near at a decision point, to exclude such people, to ensure there is enough motivation to continue support work for modding.

I have 7-zip file manager but when I try to download sol it automatically downloads it to chrome and just takes me back and downloads it again. I screwed up when it asked the default app for opening files and I clicked chrome like an idiot. All I'm asking is how do I change it to automatically open with 7zip not chrome. Thanks for you help sorry if I'm being a nuisance.

right click the 7z file and choose "open with", then select the "7zFM.exe" (default install folder is "C:\Program Files\7-Zip") or, if it already is in the list of known apps, the "7-Zip File Manager".

You need to download Sol via the links on the overview page or in the pdf you downloaded....

Hey just letting you know I figured it out. Callum999 I set the open app at first with chrome and I had the same problem you are having with opera gx. I had to reset my Windows to make it not open with chrome in my case, In yours it was opera gx. Im sure there is another way to make it not automatically open with chrome/opera gx but I never figured it out and just reset to fresh. Do not do "open with" on windows 10 it is different than windows 11. Since I'm on windows 10 I have to right click the file and click 7zip and then open archive. Once you open archive it will open the files in 7zip and that's it. You can follow the other steps from a youtube video. I hope this fixes it for you to and if you have a question about it ask me I'll reply because I was about to give up and I don't want that to happen to you. Peter Boese the Premium is on windows 11 that's why his options are letting him click 7zip from open with, it is different for us.

el juego sin content manager se mil veces mejor y va mil veces mas fluido, dejaros de esta herramienta que lo unico que se creo es para que gasteis dinero en volantes y tarjetas graficas, haced la prueba, vereis que no miento, volantes que antes se jugaba de lujo, al instalar esto `pierden ffb por un tubo y con el tema tarjetas graficas, lo mismo, instalas esto y ostras! mis cuadros por segundo, donde estan? tengo que comprar otra tarjeta grafica? ¡No! desistala esta basura, que esta creada para sacaros el dinero.

That's not right! But you have to invest a little time to dig into modding.

Actually Content Manager, Custom Shaders Patch and Sol are FREE. Nobody force you to pay some money for it. And actually the game could be run with more fps than the original AC. But if you are glad with the original launcher, then stay with this. It's your decision.

Content Manager does not influence the fps of AC. It's just an alternate launcher. CSP brings more features and sure, if you set all the new stuff it runs slower, but it looks better then.

AC is a very light weight simulator, bit it misses many things. And sure some things cost money, like the rain. But if you look at other sims, if such features are active, fps goes down too. So it's always the question, how much of those features you want to run.

Also, there is one side many people miss if they are complaining about something costs money. Developing something costs time. And some things are too big to do it as a hobby.

Don't install this version!

If you already updated it, please revert to this version:

Replace your ContentManager.exe with the one in the zip file.

Then reinstall CSP 0.1.79 or 0.1.80p218 again MANUALLY!
Download the zip, open it and copy the dwrite.dll and the extension folder to your AC root folder (steampapps/common/assettocorsa).

I was able to select the 2.5 controller but was, in game, asked to select it and had the black sky issue.
I reverted back to your suggested CM version (0.8.2549.39670), reinstalled 0.1.80 and can now enjoy rain.
(weird thing is CM updated itself to 0.8.2561.39678 (without my approving, testing box unchecked) but the rain remains )

Please disable updates in CM und uncheck the update to untested versions

There is no change within the install guide. I just need to make a new one with the download links, but only the links are changed. So it does not matter which one you use...

hey the legend Peter, I am having issues with sol planner for some reason it keeps telling me that " select sol 2.5...." and already ahve selcter "sol" in weather FX i am tried it in hot lap and practice. hope to hear from u soon thnx

First install the new Content Manager:

It will solve the problem with different CSP verions. Then please have a look in the update post. The weather controller selection is different with different CSP versions:

Just use the mega or MediaFire link...
