Show us your Rig / Cockpit

a proper sim racing review of this one would be really nice
I built it all already with the G9

previously was running triple 32 Samsung ultrawide at 7680x1440

here it’s 5120x1440 so actually gained in FPS from it

ACC with my old screens ultra epic all settings was dragging 60fps roughly no gsync and no hdr

with the G9 with Gsync + hdr
I’m dragging roughly 85-90fps so gained almost 50% performance + the visuals are immense, they was very good before but now just in another level

I ended up with a second batch FA01 07/2020 model, we can open them in the shop in Ukraine and check over them so all pixels everything 0 issues,

I’ll go more into it later with some hrs on it maybe we can start a thread :)

thks for your quick answer what GPU are you running ?

thanks for your answers CC,
I m planning to move to g9 and 3080 this winter when the dust settle around this epic release of 30 series.
I m for the moment on 32/9 1080 p samsung and 1070 card so i expect a big jump.
i'm all in for a thread about this screen as i have more questions ( what about this 1000 R curve and image deformation,240 hz etc..)
and congrats on your build i ve been there a few months ago and appreciate every minutes of the process

Yes I rushed against advice and bought a RTX 2080ti maybe 4 months back cost me 1400$
But thing was I just upgraded my screens to 3x 32” and the fps was pretty poor I saw a 50% jump from my 2080 to 2080ti the card performance is lovely,

problem I had the screens started splitting on the bezels the bottom left after only 3 months and now reading all the G9 issues ok taking Samsung quality control is trash + build quality, anyways dumped the 3 screens and bought this G9
But I think I got the cheapest in the world tbh I use a shop I always use they gave us a 12% discount so come to 1248$ so over the moon with it. :)

imagine 3 screens splitting like this same place after 3/4 months best thing is I lost all the receipts :D

Is bezel peeling fixed on G9? Read bunch of folks complaining about that on reddit.

Yes there was 1st batch FA01
May/June 2020
This had split bezels, DOA, dead pixels,
All sorts of nonsense,

then the 2nd 3rd batches
FA01 July/August
And
FB01 September

I have the 07/2020 July 2nd batch seems perfect no issues I noticed

If you want one wait for FB01or later

but my 3x Samsung CJG5 screens was all FB02 so quite late batches and releases and all those broke same places like I shown above so maybe it’s just luck of the bag

I recognize that keyboard.
Please post some pictures of car cockpit view from some major sims after you dial FOV and other things. Are you using any head trackers like TrackIR?

Yes I use this TrackIR5 or something,
I wouldn’t drive seriously without it, seems to open all the corners up gives a better POV,
Not worked out 100% the FOV seemed odd compared to my triples
But turn the TrackIR on 2nd time I went and felt really good what I was seeing,
Past few days not really had time to drive with adjusting and mounting everything,
I’ll take some better pics with it all running :)

Well I’ll not start telling lies and say I’m 100% finished forever, but for now feels finish and I feel happy with it, still some odd tweeks on stuff + some new cables I need for my cube.

That monitor, holy smokes!
I would love to see how you mounted that thing. Did the Sim-Lab VESA plate fit, or did you have to somehow modify it? ( I am assuming you have Sim-Lab gear).

Anyways, enjoy it, it looks amazing!

Love that set up. I am getting my G9 in a few days. Ordered today on amazon. hopefully it will be a new batch and no issues so I can put that 3080 to test.
Your mouse pad is exactly the same placement as mine...might try the same with keyboard!

Was NK who told me about the keyboard tbh best keyboard I ever had in over 30 years since my commodore days

Hi, rig was a custom design not SimLabs,
I designed my own but designed it for triples which I switched out for the G9
My own design the 2 vertical uprights would be higher than the screen as it’s more narrow, so kept this test rig I was using I’ll sell my other one on later when I take some pics,
I used these plates not sure how thick they are but leaves the G9 with some angle because of the weight of it but feels stable although feels strange mounting that weight tbh :D

I bought 2x simlabs mouse trays + a keyboard tray,
the 2nd mouse tray I bolted to the keyboard tray to use my ipad on it,
which reminds me it wants charging :D
