Just finished building this using:
1 Very adjustable Radial saw
1 Table Saw
1 Jig Saw
1 Skil saw
2 Drills
approx 2 8'' X 12'' X 12' Pieces of treated lumber (got it really cheap)
Other various lumber scraps approx 3.5'' X 3.5'' X 4'
1 Honda Del Sol passenger seat
Various Nuts/bolts/washers and a box of 3'' Wood screws.

Took me about 16-20 hours to create using trial and error and only a rudimentary understanding of carpentry.

I ended up having to lower the pedals a bit to where they are now because they were higher than my heart before and it made my feet go numb-like after 30 to 45 mins of racing.
Erm........ Where do your legs go? If I tried to sit in that, I would be using the paddles with my feet. I'm trying to picture someone sat in that cos I can't see how.

The original wooden 'pit took me a year on and off. It was made from plans of the Lotus 49B but using a plywood frame with thin ply steamed to form the curves. The whole car was then sheathed in glass cloth and epoxy resin. Lots of filler, lots of primer and it came out looking pretty good. Here is my buddy Pany who did a test for Redbull last year -

Mine is a playseat original with a set of csr elite pedals taken off of there base and hard mounted to make fit them fit on the plate (circuit board is velcroed to the bottom bar under the pedal plate). On top is a standard CSR wheel. I just picked up this playseat off of ebay for 30$ and still trying to figure out a way to mount my shifter. I'll get it figured out eventually. Not bad for 30$.

My racing setup is as follows, I have a Logitech G27 that is modded with a Simulaje quick release system. I have the stock G27 Rim as well as the Steelseries SRW-S1 Rim. No actual racing seat as of yet, I don't have the space for it.

My next plan is to either go Triple screens (I have a 4GB GTX 760 OC GPU) or replace my G27 pedals with some Fanatec CSR Elite pedals, I'm looking for peoples opinions on what I should do.

Hope you all like my setup :)

No displays cause I'm aiming for the Rift.

If anyone is interested, I can do a visualization like this, just draw your idea in paint. For free of course.
