I'm now in the testing fase but here's a short video of my Ferrari F1 rig.

I Was Thinking of Creating a Carbon Fibre Frame , Or maybe Creating Some Kind of Cockpit but I have also been looking at the RSeat Formula RS , Its about a £1000 But can not decide if its worth actually doing?
Could you take some Pictures of your Rig and how you went about creating the Frame it may be something worth making but when playing other Racing games like non Open Cockpit the seating position would feel very strange as I play more than one type of Racing Sim?;)

Sorry this will sound like an idiots question but whats the max file size for picture uploads. Trying to upload shots of my setup & it keeps telling me they are too large. Cheers.

I never exceed the 1000 pixels width (I usually use 800 pixels) and resolution at 72 dpi (Dots per inch), but many depends also to the compression (.jpg). If you use a programme like photoshop you could set compression to medium or high (not the maximum) or use the function save for web & devices.
There are also softwares for automatic reduction of photo (file) size. There you can apply the pre-sets even to a large pack of photos at once.

Looks great :)

Did I just hear a "nu nog leren rijden" in the video? :D

@chargingcar
If you are used to driving different sorts of cars, a cockpit like that just isn't for you. Driving a porsche or something similar while in an openwheeler cockpit is just plain awkward, seating position, steering, no foot operated clutching :p Your best bet is to find a compromise of sorts between the two.

Thanks just tried various settings based on your information and it seems to be letting me upload some of them. Much appreciated. :)

Heres mine. Bit of a franken-setup at this stage but as I have no room, or cash, for a dedicated race rig this handles everything from racing to FPS, flight simming, movies, browsing and sometimes actual work. Its a 27" 2011 iMac i5 with a 1gb 6970m (still pulling 60fps on AC triples) native 2560x1440 16:9 flanked by 2x 23" matte Cinema displays 1920x1200 16:10 so in real life only 1 inch vertical difference when doing Eyefinity on Humanscale M2 LCD arms which float out to detach from the iMac to produce a wider overall system when not racing or gaming. For racing the weapons of choice are a T500rs & TH8rs on a GT Omega Wheelstand.

A Dell 2713hm hangs above them on a Humanscale dual-crossbar M8 arm on an Atacama speaker stand. Its attached to a 5 way HDMI switch with a couple of laptops & a PS3 mounted below the desk. For FPS etc the screen is fine where it is but can be dropped down with one hand in front of the iMac for racing on GT5 etc (the pics don't show it as low as it can go as I'm experimenting with maintaining balance at the rear so it doesn't topple.)

Logitech z-680 speakers (11yrs & going strong) & Z-10 2.1 system with a Buttkicker Gamer 2 to torment the neighbours.

There is a Vaio Duo 11 running IRDDU & the 2 old iPhones on the GT Omega Wheelstand I was hoping to run some form of telemetry apps in future but I may just flog them & get 2 cheap droid tabs. As I'm getting into AC none of this really works at this stage as there are no apps yet. WIP. I use 3 euro Go Pro sticky dash mounts to hold the Logitech T650 trackpad & K810 keyboard to the wheelstand.

The whole thing can be setup or stored in under 2 minutes which is what I need so happy for the mo.

Just finished building this using:
1 Very adjustable Radial saw
1 Table Saw
1 Jig Saw
1 Skil saw
2 Drills
approx 2 8'' X 12'' X 12' Pieces of treated lumber (got it really cheap)
Other various lumber scraps approx 3.5'' X 3.5'' X 4'
1 Honda Del Sol passenger seat
Various Nuts/bolts/washers and a box of 3'' Wood screws.

Took me about 16-20 hours to create using trial and error and only a rudimentary understanding of carpentry.

I ended up having to lower the pedals a bit to where they are now because they were higher than my heart before and it made my feet go numb-like after 30 to 45 mins of racing.

That is really cool mate, love it. The style looks great, lick of paint and it will look really awesome.

How comfortable is the 'normal' car seat in that position though, do you have enough back and neck support?

I was thinking of modifying my homemade rig to and F1 style, but I only have a regular car seat as well and wasn't sure if it would work very well...

It kind of looks like the angle from your back to you hips/legs is too severe, more V shaped and less U shaped. Like below:

Does anyone know the best and cheapest place to buy an 'F1 Style seat?

I have a (PVC) cockpit which can be set to simulate an 'F1 Style seat! Actually works well with a standard car seat, just needs extra support for the head (if you are interested I can make some photos to show you how I solved this). Have a look to my cockpit here.
